Thanks for the helpful video, my L110 just quit running right was missing and throwing out black smoke. Did the same process that you did, now it's running fine.
Yes sir, thank you. Haven't had the time to make videos because we have been so far behind. (3 weeks). Starting to catch up a little now just 2wks behind now LOL Have a Great Day my friend.
Yes sir!!! Heck yeah you are welcome my friend. Got yours also, mail call video coming soon. Awesome you got that many hours on it, shows you take great care of you equipment. Thank you my friend
I have a 2004 L110, the oils been changed probably 3 times in it’s lifetime, and I don’t care what anybody says about the Kohler command, it runs better than a Honda!
My L110 is 21 years old it runs like a champ after 250 hours . I’ve spent more hours blowing mouse nests out of the engine casing than anything else. Been through 3 batteries, 3 belts and 3 sets of blades..I change the oil every other year. Cost $1999 in 2003.
I used to teach ppl around the world how to spray urethane i worked for basf...great job..love helping ppl...you have great talent n patience teaching ppl..you are blessed and generous...Thank you
I love your channel so far! I could use some advise though for my families L110 model. My father bought this model I think around 2004 and after basically zero oil changes its whole life, last season it would not start. I did an experiment today where I bypassed the solenoid and connected the battery to the starter directly. Here is the scoop...To my surprise, It shifted the engine over, but gets jammed up. I can freely spin the engine from the top with great effort, so I think it may be just too much friction inside the motor to turn it over. After taking the air filter box off, I noticed that there is a wheel with teeth on it that is rusted all over. I believe this is the flywheel. Any advice for how to proceed would be much appreciated!
I have a question for you. I have this exact Kohler motor and lawnmower. I bought it for $300 10 years ago. It is a workin dude and I will buy another! Ive kept the maintenance done up every season and Im thinking that Ive wore out the motor. It had 400 hrs on it when I bought it. I'm guessing 2000 now. 2 weeks ago it sounded like an engine without oil. So 3 days ago I added a qrt and the stick read level. I mowed approximately 1/2 acre this morning and it started sounding like it had no oil. 10ft later there was one pop sound. It wasn't loud but it did smoke the whole time I mowed. Then after the pop sound it acted like it was sluggish. So I turned off the engine so it wouldn't lock up. Now it'll turn over but wont start. Is it time for a rebuild or is that even worth it? Or go buy a new mower?
Thanks for commenting. Sounds like it has been an awesome mower, maybe time to think about another one. The cost of rebuilding properly with machine work is expensive. In my opinion, with that many hours either replace engine or look for another mower.
Ok, I have a friend that does small engine repair but he's on vacation with his family. When he returns Ill have him take a look. Thanks for getting back with me so fast! I do love this mower it was the best $300 I ever spent. It beat push mowing for 10 years!
Our motor is completely locked. Not quite 3 yrs old. One told us it's the flywheel key should be checked.. John Deere shop says automatic compression switch est $900. Complete new moto $948? What do you think? Has been served annually for $249. I feel they just don't want to remove the nuts and bolts. Talk about being taken.
Check to see if it’s hydro locked. Pull the plugs and see if fluid runs out. I would apply PBBlast to the walls of each cylinder through the spark plug hole. That will eventually allow the engine to move, unless it’s mechanical damage. Most likely it was run low or out of oil.
The kill wire runs directly from ignition coil to the key switch. If you have the correct key switch that terminal should go to ground with key off. Otherwise there is a break or bad connection on wire to coil. The terminal on the key switch is labeled M for magneto
The new ignition switch I tried kept blowing fuse after few attempts. I put ignition switch from my d105 and no more blown fuse. But still wo nt turn off everytime
I got a 1040 cub cadet was cutting grass and I got up off the seat just for a half a second to move a toy out of the way Sat back down and it backed fired and cut off tried to start it up and it wasn't going to start. 19hp kollher motor waited for while and tried to start it up again no go. Checked safety switch its ok also silaniod it checked ok changed spark plug , air filter, fuses still no go I'm lost any idea what I can do
im just an avg idiot. i got a lawn mower guy. but i like the cut of your jib. ill start throttlin her down upon cut off. i used to but my wife complains about the backfires it causes. but hey, thats life. 😂

😆 That's great, yes, a Command is a good one. The Courage makes a good boat anchor lol
Great video I just couldn't see where you cut did you cut just the tip where or the whole thing flush with the bottom

That engine sounded beautiful when it was running!!!
Yes it does. Thank you for watching
You are the man! That solenoid is 117.
00 thanks for the trick
Lol thank you sir. When you cut the tip. Be sure to idle down before shutting engine off. Glad it helped my friend

@@joeyfogetaboutit9694 thank you so much for the kind words. Share as much of your knowledge as possible my friend.
Can I just plug the hole under the bowl...now my solenoid is leaking...ugh
@@joeyfogetaboutit9694 yes you can. The older carburetors were made that way with just a plug.

How did he get the cup off to get to the solineoid and jet?
The solenoid screws on and off, which also holds a Bowl in place .

How about same engine but sometimes wont turn off? I replaced ignition switch
Any idea to fix?

I know it’s been 2 yrs ago, if u still have it, check
flywheel/crankshaft shear key.
I always idle the mower down after I am finished cutting
I have one just like that and it will not charge the battery. What could it be?
Most likely the regulator.
Be sure your battery is good, it needs 12volts in order to work properly
Haters will gripe,I've done the same thing before. I've cut those soldier switches before and will always do it
Yep me too my friend
I think it's stabil fuel stabilizer.
My opinion is fuel stabilizer is snake oil. Sorry, we see no difference in people who use it.
