After one pair got broken it'll atleast take a week to get a new one and for that entire week there's no phone no Nintendo Switch no PC oh no studying too that's kinda fun cause my parents are extremely overprotective about my eyes like if have sharingan or something they'll never let me do anything without glasses.
So seeing him breaking those felt like seeing someone breaking his own bones.

36:11 Diamond and pearl came out when I was in 3rd grade in 2006. Nobody at my school could figure out where to go to get past that part, and not a lot of people had access to computers. I finally found that guy to progress like a week into the game being out and getting to school the next day to tell everyone was one of the only times i've ever felt like a hero.

I'm not even sure what the strategy would be there? Go for glass cannons and hope for the best, or use stocky pokemon and tank out your opponent?

I think you'd just have to strategize for defense. Use the types that resist the enemy's moves, and the defense stats that correspond to the enemy's attacking stats

@@limerumpus3589 I disagree, cheating during challenge runs kinda defeats the purpose. A challenge is supposed to make you strategize and think, and if you can just spawn as many free levels as you want that doesn’t make it challenging.

Ant is the ultimate "watch while doing something else" creator because most of the entertainment is just listening to him enjoying & narrating what he's doing and you can always just hop back into paying attention and you won't feel like you missed anything.
Seriously though, the first several months that I watched his stream, I just listened to the audio while I did custodial work. It was great!

Honestly doesn't sound fun at all, it's like being paralyzed, but worse, at all times, and it's way worse since your pokemon will either choose a random move to use, not move at all, doze off or finally actually move

Also, Wring Out is a Normal-type move that deals more damage if the enemy is healthier. It's pretty much an instant kill if it crits.

i think my fave part of this was the really bratty clefable that refused to use anything but ineffective moves with metronome -- love that for 'em

0:43 having been an avid user of an Action Replay, I love the Mystery Zone. It is legitimately one of the reasons I initially didn't like gen 5. There was no Mystery Zone I could cheat my way into. Unlike gen 4, where I could wander wherever the hell I want and travel across the whole map if I wanted to. And the Poketch map helped too.
Also I don't even remember how Pokemon Diamond and Pearl play out, despite having Pearl and playing it through before getting Platinum. Some gym layouts are different and apparently the gym order is different too?? I thought Hearthome was the third gym, that's the case in Platinum, right?
Platinum has a lot of differences and small tweaks that really throw you off when you play diamond and pearl and vise versa

Hearthome is gym 5, but in Platinum you have the option to fight her third. You certainly don’t have to, but she’s set up as gym 3

It's weird because usually the games will acknowledge your starter being whatever it was at the actual start, even in the oldest games. Strange they decided to hard code it. Then again this is the generation where if you modify your starter the rival will often end up with the wrong team through out the game.

I'd like to see this as a nuzlocke but your team only randomizes after major battles (gym leaders, rival, team bosses etc) so you can actually strategize a bit...
I’m so happy to see this video finally come out after the streams that happened months ago.
Interesting that there's so much of the strategy predicated on getting the crits, secondary stat changes from offensive moves, opponents missing, and status effects, but never expects bad things to happen to him. He plays on what feels like 50% luck to me and seems to be wrong a good amount of the time but talks what the results of every move will be with such confidence
And I love watching it
It was an idea that came to my mind, pokemon but every battle the level of the pokemon is randomized.
I don't know if that works or has any fun value, but it was just a random idea.

@@Kael4king10 There's a level cap between every gym battle, of the highest level pokemon of that gym leader. So you can never overlevel your pokemon.
