Why did Candice have a medicham? The same reason why Volkner had an octillery and ambipom, and Flint had a drifblim, steelix, and lopunny - the original D/P SinnohDex was wack when it came to type distribution.

@@velvetbutterfly Yeah, but I thought of it as the pokemon spinning fast that creates the whirlwind but with flames, so if it misses it would actually be from the pokemon being too dizzy, which would make it go anywhere

I like how Tanner was essentially the useless partner trainer for the (first) battle against the team galactic commanders at spear pillar, and Barry was the player wondering when his partner was going to do anything useful. That's quite an achievement too, considering how bad Barry is at life. XD

I don't know how possible it is. Random pokemon works because it injects a value whenever data is being loaded naturally but in battle everything necessary is loaded at all times to my understanding
Good idea, I once suggested a "Pokemon, but you can't learn more than 1 move at a time", so a run which limits the moves could be interesting
@@velvetbutterfly I think it could be done by basically the pokemon having 4 metronomes and have it run a check to select 4 moves the pokemon can typically learn rather than any move. But have it select the move 1 turn in advance so you can display the move before on the battle screen. Don't know if it would work but that's just what I thought of real quick
love these challenges you do because they are the dumbest thing possible and still turn out to be the most enjoyable and technical thing I’ve watched

I learned some stuff from this. The first of which is that the field traps, like spikes, can be layered. Didn't know that. Thank you, Smallant
Spikes can be layered 3 times, Toxic Spikes can be layered 2 times and Stealth Rock can only be layered once
FYI Storm Drain is like Sturdy in the sense that it's near-useless until gen 5. Nothing to fear from it in gen 4.
Also it's really funny how less than half of Flint's team is actually fire type.
i had forgotten how few fire types he really has in diamond and pearl since it's been ages since i played any gen 4 game other than platinum
They're certainly not useless in the remakes though because storm drain jacked up my 1st run because I didn't realize realize that that God damn slug had it... Accidentally hit him with that and then proceeded to wipe my team

Maybe the Pokémon constantly changing messes up what Pokémon the enemy trainers think their fighting, and that’s why the A.I. keeps not using its super effective moves?
For Barry, I just like to think he is a legitimately horrendous Pokemon Trainer, who has no idea what he's doing, as evidenced by the fact that he has a Staravia and a Buizel, both of whom are past the levels were they would have evolved. And doesn't evolve either until the league. So Barry is just an awful Pokemon Trainer, I have no idea what the other ones were doing though.

@@zilongma5067 It's because he packed December full of cool stream ideas like the Pokemon Week (HeartGold with 1HP, Brilliant Diamond with 1PP, a Randomizer Race, Pokemon But Everything Is Random [Levels, Pokemon, Moves]) then he took January off in general to avoid burnout then he got really into Minecraft Skyblock for all of February and just didn't have the inspiration to edit videos.

@@Rowan_A_Boat Maybe a setting that can only randomize levels within a certain range. Like if the ace PKMN of an E4 member is 60, it would randomize between half the ace level to only 5 above (30-65) so it would be more likely to have a negative effect. But yeah wouldn’t be very interesting tbh.

That can be interesting because it requires hella strats, yeah? Picking the right mons & moves to overcome the level diff.
Randomization trades strat requirements for flexibility requirements. The ability to react on the fly, or have backup plans for contingencies is also p interesting
Random levels means strategy wont really work, but also there's not really a way to react when your ace is just randomly too weak to do anything.
Shit would happen like:
"My ace has randomly become a lvl 70 groudon & their only water type is randomly lvl 5... guess that means I win"
Or
"Their ace has randomly become a lvl 70 groudon & my only water type is randomly lvl 5... guess that means I lose"
It could be good for a super random chaos run where everything possible is random, but even then it'd just be interesting bc its lul so random XD.

Yeah the Games are so bad... Its not because they arent much Electric and fire types in this Gen. Its because the Game is bad. Thats also the reason why the remakes were sold out and people loved this Gen. Maybe its your opinion that the games are bad but even smallant said that Gen 4 is by far the one he spent the most hours into
@@ckay2900 The thing for Candice and Volkner though isnt even the lack of ice and electric Pokémon, that may be true for Flint, its just that Game Freak had one or two extra Pokémon to give to trainers so they gave them to these two for an extra challenge.
