I had planned on getting a brushless Zorro but in the end I went with the Apache. Like your truck it does like to roll so I'm thinking two words: sway bars. I was out with my old Vantage earlier after some upgrades - some bling - when the steering servo decided it was time to fail. Not bad considering I've been running the buggy for almost 5 years. Luckily I plan ahead and already had a spare so it is running again. FTX cars get some stick from those who don't really know them, but I reckon you get a lot for your money and they are so easy to fix up when you suddenly find a bollard where there wasn't one before. 😁
I have a 2S 5600mAh LiPo in my Vantage and get a really good run time out of it on the stock 15 turn brushed motor. One day soon it will be undergoing a brushless conversion.

Hey there buddy , Yeah was looking at the Apache it looks a awesome little truck to be fair and was watching RCUNexttuesdays coverage of it and Tomley , it seems a great little truck , based on the Rokatan platform , this is why i love FTX as parts are plenty full.
The reason i went with this version of the Zorro is to show new people to the hobby what can be done .
I love upgrading trucks , its just in me to make them the best i can .
Yeah 5 years of service with a servo i would also sat thats a good innings !
You seem like me also , Always have a back up plan thats a good way to be .
Yeah i agree with you FTX do offer a a lot of bang for the buck for sure.
Yeah those blinking bollards , right thugs arent they always jumping out and ruining the day lol .
Thanks for watching also buddy ,
If you havent already Subscribed please consider doing so , i have loads of content planned on the channel .
      Stay safe
      Chris :)

    hiya mate
great to see you out and about with the FTX Zorro brushed version.
that battery would make a young kid upset with that little run time so defo needs to go up to the 2s lipo way.
my nitro if I am lucky can get about 10 to 12 minutes use per tank so it would be good to see a nitro on your channel i can help you out with advice etc on them.
it is at the price point to be great for a youngster or a beginner into the hobby and its also a good base point to learn to upgrade things at a cheap cost.
look forward to seeing what you do next to this one.
hope yourself and the bfamily are all well.

      Hey there peter buddy ,
Yeah i agree with battery in my opinion is sub par ! , I understand why companies send trucks like this with NimH batteries out with them , its cost and also there less prone to going bang .
But the fact of the matter is they just dont preform well at all , rubbish run time !
This could also put people off , i mean years ago when i raced even the best quality NIMH batts would be a 7 min race thats it on a modified class race .
But as for the cost of the vehicle its so accessible , i can imagine a young un getting this and being over the moon , As you know FTX does make sure there is a clear upgrade path also mind and cheap as well in comparison to other companies .
Loads of upgrades coming for the truck as you know its what i do ! i love this aspect to the hobby , ive always been the same , Christ im the only person i know with a upgraded TV cabinet with cooling fans connected to a Pwm switch so i can control how cool my console runs lol ! :)
      Stay safe buddy
      Chris :)

Hey Chris, nice first run. It shares the same suspension style as the Axial Yeti with the independent front and solid axle rear and it does have the same tendency to roll over in the corners. I think that all round independent suspension is best for most things really and I never really found a situation where the Yeti performed better than my Arrma's. Be interesting to see how it is with brushless and if you can tweak the suspension so it doesn't fall over so much. I'm sure you'll make a good little runner out of it. Oh that transmitter is the first one I had when I got back into the hobby 10 years ago and I'm still using it for nearly all of my cars. I rather like it 😁 Best wishes mate 🤙

    • @ChriswithaCrc
      @ChriswithaCrc  Год назад +1

Hey Pete , Yes i agree on full independent suspension it is always better , the Trophy trucks are more of scale looking thing to copy the suspension movement , the only one that ive really seen pull it off well is the Traxxas UDR ( And i know how you feel about them lol ) .
Yeah im going to see how i get on with this truck , If when ive converted it to brushless i fall in love with running it , it stays otherwise ive already spotted a new truck but that would need some selling before picking it up mind as its a tad more expensive than i would normally purchase.
Yeah i was rather impressed with the transmitter buddy to be honest , even though i dont like the batteries situation at all .
I got a feeling its going to be a fun truck to run when ive sorted it all out .
Just recording parts as im converting etc , one thing ive noticed straight away is the diff grease is horrendous,
Do you have any new videos planned .
Thanks once again for all your support ,
      Stay awesome buddy
      Chris :) 🤙🤘😎🚀

@@ChriswithaCrc Oh yeah the UDR is a nice bit of kit despite being a Traxxas but I enjoyed driving the Arrma Mojave much more because the UDR did have that problem of rolling over too much. I think the best thing to do is to run it on very loose ground so that the wheels don't get enough sideways grip and they slide. Got a little run video out later. Just a bit of fun. Cheers for now mate 😁
