You're going to have fun with that one.. It'll be a challenge at times, especially if you go brushless.... But you'll enjoy it.! I've got two of them & I've got an Outlaw too.!
Can't wait! im always up for a challenge buddy as you know . already got a parts list of upgrades to get ordered . what would you start with mate ? Stay awesome buddy Chris :)
Hiya Chris. Blimey you are going all out to expand your RC collection. You do indeed get a lot for your money with these FTX cars. I don't know if you ever saw my review of my Bugsta after 1 year? Basically I came to the conclusion that I'd rather spend more money and get something better. The weak point was the non sealed gears getting grit in and wearing out. Also the front bevel gears didn't last long. My friend had an Outlaw and it did break a fair bit after he made it brushless. I think that if you are willing to do some work with upgrades then you could end up with a good basher. For me the problem was that I had better RC's so it wasn't worth persevering with the Bugsta. Reminds me that what I should do is get it out of the loft and flog it! Great vid mate. Hope you have some fun with it 😁👍👍
Well hello good sir ! , How are you Pete buddy , good i hope . Yeah time to work out what stays and what goes soon probably to make space for a new one at some point . Yeah ive heard a few people saying that the outlaw platform has a few issues out of the box , but i do have a love for making cars that as genuinely slow , in to little rockets and upgrading them as you are probably aware . Yes of course i have seen your bugsta buddy , to be quite honest with you i dont think there isn't a video of your ive not watched ( was feeling rough a few weeks back and went on a binge watch session and down the youtube rabbit hole ) . ive got a few ideas for the Zorro and in a great position to try a few things out as your aware as a wonderful follower of the channel was happy to send me a little care package . I do think with some careful planning and work i can make it a fun little lite basher ! The Platform isn't something i can send to the moon thats for sure. In your opinion what upgrade would you go for first buddy ? Looking forward to hearing from you Pete mate , Stay safe Chris :)
Not had chance to run it yet , but from what I've seen love the movement of the truck and when it's kicking up dust should be great fun. Thanks for watching buddy Chris 🤙
Hey Terry , yeah its a great little design , as you know ive got plans for upgrades already ! Cant wait to get stuck in and make it a little reliable rocket :) Thanks for watching again , Stay safe Chris :)
Im thinking about actually getting the nitro version next as ive never used a nitro and its very reasonably priced isnt it . How come you got rid of it mate ? Chris :)
@@ChriswithaCrc tbh mate I crashed it very badly into a kerb and it just disintegrated and at the time I wasn't confident with repairs and so. So I switched to electric. And drive slower 😂
Hey there fella , Massive thanks for watching again means alot . Right yeah ive got a bit of a thing for trophy trucks and short course trucks , Yeah would love to try a senton but its to close to my typhon and big rock for me to actively go out and purchase one . but was thinking of converting the typhon back to a vorteks again . Stay awesome buddy Chris :)
Hey buddy , Long time no speak ! Hope your doing well Edwin buddy , Yeah i see this as a slowburner , something to continue to work on and enjoy each stage through the upgrading process , i needed another project and i think this is a great candidate . So what do you think i should upgrade first on it ? Stay awesome buddy Chris :)
hiya mate yet another brill video with a new cool rc to the collection you will be happy with the FTX Zorro as i have the nitro version and if yours drives like mine does you will be happy as mine is a very good runner when the nitro engine wants to play ball. would love to change mine from nitro to electric but dont know if it can be done. as always have liked and shared brill video mate and cant wait to see what you do with this now you have all those motors and escs. hope you and the family are all well. peter anne and ella
Hey peter , Hope that your ok ! , Thanks once again for the cheerful comments , really appreciate it . Yeah i was looking for a car to work on and upgrade and make fast , as you know its my thing , really does not bother me at all coming slow as i love making them fast . Yeah ive been looking at the Nitro variant as not ever owned a nitro at all and would love to learn something new. What issues did you have with yours then dont mind me asking ? Yeah got loads of plans in my head to make this brushed zorro a bit of a rocket . Say hello to the family from myself and my gang . Stay safe Chris :)
Well I'm planning on running it with the brushed set up first to see how it goes ! So 2s and 3s test first and then upgrade to a brushless system . Thanks for watching Stay awesome Chris 🤙🚀😎
Hey Steve! To convert your brushed RC to brushless, you'll need a few key components. Here's a breakdown of what you'd likely need: Brushless Motor: A good quality brushless motor will be the main upgrade. Depending on the brand and size, this could cost anywhere from $50 to $150. ESC (Electronic Speed Controller): You'll need to match the ESC with your new brushless motor. The price can range from $50 to $100+, depending on the power and features you want. Battery: If your current battery isn't compatible, you'll need a new one. For brushless setups, you'll likely need a LiPo battery (2S or 3S). Prices for LiPo batteries can range from $30 to $80+. Pinion Gear: If necessary, you'll also need a new pinion gear to work with the brushless motor. This usually costs around $10 to $20. Servo: If your servo isn't powerful enough to handle the increased power from the brushless system, you may need an upgraded one. This can cost around $20 to $50. All in all, the total cost to convert to brushless will likely range from $150 to $300, depending on the quality and specifications of the parts you choose. Let me know if you need more specific recommendations based on your vehicle model!
@ChriswithaCrc thank you Chris. I've been watching your vids. I can learn alot from you. I've jus uploaded the steering servo to 25kg. I am so brand new to all this. I am enjoying it so much. I've added axle extensions because I kept flipping. Due to steering being faster. Thank you so much for your advice. I promise you. You will be hearing from me. Many thanks. Keep the videos coming🤙🤙
Hey Rui , Thank you so much for confirming that buddy so 0.6 Mod gearing it is ! , Yep as you know i love to upgrade all my RCs cant wait to get my teeth stuck in to this one . Hope your well buddy , Stay awesome Chris :)
