For the public, there's indeed no hi-mod version of the rim brake model. Special carbon layups made only for the pros isn't unheard of. Trek made some unique bikes for key riders with ultra-stiff carbon that would be too brittle for the average consumer
I think it's std balistec. In himod it should have come in around 6.8kg on the dot. There is no difference in stiffness between himod and std ballistec, but the himod is between 150 to 170gr lighter
Pros and picky amateurs usually opt to get stem length dialed in first as a higher priority than using the manufacturer's barstem combo that might not come in the sizing that they want. That's what happens to me.
Awsome vid. So is it a Hi-Mod? There has been mixed information if rim brake version is available in Hi-Mod. In prev week Tech video you claim that is not a Hi-Mod
For sure pro version only just like they have done the roubaix and venge a few years back with rim brakes and that was only available to the pro peloton. Why would a name sponsor have their riders on not a top end model
hi-mod is just marketing gimmick anyway, if they used all high modulus carbon it would break. all frames you combinations of different carbon in different areas
@@clydea.hutchisoniv5742 It's just a marketing term, but it isn't a gimmick, the frame is actually lighter. Pretty sure it's just a more complicated layup, like the emonda SL vs SLR.
I can't imagine using flat bars with no bar tape on it.. Btw this is maybe the first bike from the top pro rider which looks comfortable in terms of seat/bars drop.. :)
That's quite a bend on the rear brake cable housing. It is almost 90 degrees. I would have made the housing shorter. Even though it might not look as nice, it would probably reduce the cable friction.
Interesting choice to not go with the integrated bar/stem. I gather the same stem length / bar width must not be available in the Cannondale integrated bar/stem ?
At 5:42 there is a sticker showing some numbers.."CANN-56R-RD" ...At 6:16 you ask what the size of the bike is... 52 or 54.... Am i correct in assuming that "56R" means its a 56?
Hi, I recently subscribed and have enjoyed your videos a lot. I'm wondering, do you do only videos about road bikes & road cycling? Any mountain bike at all?
Riders choose rim brakes because they're lighter and more than sufficient, ain't that hard to work out. Discs have their place, but a gc contender's bike is not one of them, unless they are forced to ride them (specialized, trek, bmc riders).
#askgcntech @ 0:11 I have been seeing this lately? Is this a cutout stencil or marker....I have noticed this that they are marking for saddle height! Great idea for sure! 🤙🏻😎
If Ollie dont know size of that bike with meter in his hands then whats problem measure it:-) Anyway finally cannondale also changed geometry and thats look very nice.
for an incompetent eye, yes, but for a trained eye less is more. put on a Rapha sticker like everybody nowadays, maybe it makes it more swag and "cooler" ! lol
Joshua Watson And the BMC and whatever. It's not about copying, it's about what performs the best in the wind tunnel while keeping weight down and adding some comfort. This is just the shape that accomplishes all of the above the best while also complying with UCI regulations. If the rules were more lenient we would see much more innovative designs. And didn't the old steel frames look the same too?
Yeah Rigo!!!
Love the simplicity...
Greetings from Colombia

No freewheel sound check!?!?!? this whole video needs to be re-done!! Ollie, you're fired!
Classic fitting bike for real men. Rigoberto Uran is good sportman.
In that colourway it's my favourite bike in the pro peloton
Cuz you haven't seen the Astana's Wilier yet....
@@schinagldaniel7752 but blue and yellow makes them look like Team IKEA 😳

That bar wrap is 👌
This thing is straight up amazing!
Nice to see the choice of rim brakes available, unlike the Tarmac
Great commentary by Ollie.
Nice bike!
Make sure you keep adding more videos like this!
Bike after bike reviewed under 6.8kg at this Tour. Way to step up Cannondale!
Is it HI-MOD tho? Didn't you guys said that they have HI-MOD frames only on the disc version ?
Yes, they did say that the other day.
For the public, there's indeed no hi-mod version of the rim brake model. Special carbon layups made only for the pros isn't unheard of. Trek made some unique bikes for key riders with ultra-stiff carbon that would be too brittle for the average consumer
I have a high mod with rim brakes. 2018 model! 😁

Probably cannondale or fsa don't have a 12-38 integrated handlebars, so he had to switch
Ollie, I always appreciate your enthusiasm for new bike tech. But no freewheel sound test?! What happened?
I'm interested in Michael Woods's bike. I'd like to see a detailed interview on his bike.
Beautiful pure bike
Beautiful 👌
Awsome vid. So is it a Hi-Mod? There has been mixed information if rim brake version is available in Hi-Mod. In prev week Tech video you claim that is not a Hi-Mod
I am curious about this also. The rim brake version only comes in non hi mod for consumers. Wondering if the pro version is hi mod.

Yea, but with UCI rules the hi mod rim must come to customers sooner or later...... Right?

It's fantastic bike
Cool Rocket !
I don't know if I'm the only one, but I much prefer the old cannondale logo font.
Who put the name badge on without making sure it was parallel to the top tube?
😱
Rigoberto Uran
Now only giant and canyon are the only major brand that still have not implemented the dropped seat post on their climbing bikes (tcr and ultimate)
I'd preferred it if they had called it by a new name, I have the "old evo ", this new one is not dissimilar to my 2015 Giant TCR ?
I can't imagine using flat bars with no bar tape on it.. Btw this is maybe the first bike from the top pro rider which looks comfortable in terms of seat/bars drop.. :)
Jiří Hutečka that’s just because he’s obv not the tallest though. Taller riders have less choice with the saddle to bars drop.
That 53 chainring has circa 2011 graphics. Where can you still find them?!
First. This bike looks so clean and tidy!
That's quite a bend on the rear brake cable housing. It is almost 90 degrees. I would have made the housing shorter. Even though it might not look as nice, it would probably reduce the cable friction.
A 38mm bar with 120mm stem on a single barstem unit is not easy to find!
If he had been on Ineos he would have had one custom made
Maybe he does not like aero bars
Yup, it's hard to find a 38 mm handlebar period.
I have exactly the same but a stem from Giant and bars from Deda also a 38 and I would never ride with something else
Is that a thingmark code on the top tube close to the stem? @3:28? Would be interested in knowing what it does
Interesting choice to not go with the integrated bar/stem. I gather the same stem length / bar width must not be available in the Cannondale integrated bar/stem ?
0:51 why is there stock footage of lachlan morton's bike in a video about the bike of rigoberto uran?
Because at that point in the vid he's referring to the old SUperSix Evo, and Lachlans' is an old one.
In a grand tour, and as a team leader, it's probably safer to go rim brake because of access to neutral spares should you flat
Super Nice Bike!!!!!! Ring the bell!!!

probably
No effing way. Urán is 1,73cm. A frame size 56 would HUGE for him. His previous Super Six was size 50.
My next bike
Hi, I recently subscribed and have enjoyed your videos a lot. I'm wondering, do you do only videos about road bikes & road cycling? Any mountain bike at all?
GMBN is where you want to look for the Global Mountain Bike Network videos
not so important: but chainrings are 53/38. nice bike. i have an cannondale caad10 and i am happy with it
Viva Colombia viva nairo man
The new Evo comes in sizes 51 and then 54, so this one must be a 51.
Same measurements as my bike! So basically I'm Uran!

Bicicletas muy bacana 😁
The previous supersix looked better
JAI BHARDWAJ Indeed. Classic Ftw!
Previous supersix is not renowned as low weight with its 1150g is rather heavy, only the hi-mod is renowned as low weight.
The glouriously beautiful supersix is dead, long live the super six
Please review the related CAAD 13
Owen Chua It’s not much better than the CAAD12. I wouldn’t recommend it. But you might like it.
This Cannondale is too flaming hot and hyper nice for me... (passes out)
Hahaha! Your favourite then?
@@gcntech Still can't beat my favorite, the Pinarello Dogma F12.
Shame they didn't make this(himod) available to the public. And near impossible to get the evo now

It has a sloping top tube, so harder to determine just by measuring.
Why do people think that if handle bars are narrow your shoulders automatically shrink as well?
Just Look like Tarmac.... 🤭 😁
Why!!!!😖😖 Ya missed the hub sound
Guys, you'd have measured the top tube for the bike size.
this is 51 frame
That is surely a 52
A himod rim would have been so light. Pity they dont make it.
No rim brake hi mod for consumers :(
For real? I know that Sagan rode a roubaix with Rim brakes unavailable to public
I would feel very uncomfortable calling that an aero bike, but maybe if the cockpit were integrated and the cables hidden...
God save rim brakes !
Where's the free hub sound test???!!!!!!
The classic one is still better. This one looks like a Specialized Tarmac. Don’t like it at all.
U replied on my comment, i replied to your comment
looks like they do not use graphene 2.0 ;)
Looked like you were struggling a little there to hold the bike up with one hand Ollie. Maybe time to hit the gym?
Gym is for insecured men
rim > disc
no free hub sound test!!!?? COME ON!!!
Funny how the PROs (Climbers in particular) given the option, choose rim brake.
Great bike, but the graphics look like a 6-year-old typed them off Microsoft Word

no free hub sound check....im done! lol
Too bad Rigo's been so far off the pace at this years Tour.

you could have cleaned the bike before filming
Typo in you’re headline. Sea what I did their.
If he doesn't need a carbon stem, neither do I.
Unless he did it to stay in the weight limit.
