I drove my 65 VW from Watertown Ct to Philly and back on the same day... circa 1980... so much fun... I won't say the same old line of wish I still had the car.... rather, I'm glad I had one, and I thoroughly enjoyed it when I did!
Those last two Karmann Ghia's were soooweeet. I've made that drive down the Merritt many times and after about Mamaroneck it sucked mostly. Doing it on a weekend makes all the sense. Fun times.
Traffic wasn't terrible until we got down into the North End of the city coming down the Hutchinson River Parkway. It was actually kind of fun being stuck in traffic looking everybody doing double-takes at the old vw's
Enjoyed the video and viewing all the nice VW’s. That was a lot of nice eye candy. Thanks for taking us along on your journey to NYC. I wish I still had my ‘68 Beetle.
Absolutely brilliant, you guys should be so proud. Classic cars in manhattan, should be rocking out to the ramones, blonde or talking heads , CBGBs baby, lol
Absolutely NO doubt I'll be along again next year! And it's so true that half the fun was traveling to such a unique location, and mostly highway. WAIT... didn't someone tell you that bias Ply's or junk and shouldn't be trusted. Seemed to do fine to me 😆
I learned to drive on bias ply's. And when radials were introduced, people were saying "Radials feel good in the corners but don't trust them. They can let get go at any time!" hahaha
@@riverbluevert7814 I did also. One of my early cars i converted to radials and was disappointed. I really didn't see much any improvement. I'd like to get rid of the radials on my bug
Drove my 1969 beetle from Iowa to Maine and back in the early 90's. It was a great adventure. Cruised all day at 65 mph. Not a problem!
Great job filming that! Lots of nice cars too.
Hey that's my car at 14:15!! great video and it was nice meeting you guys.
Looked like a great show. I love how you actually drive your bug. And Craig. Hope to see you guys. On the next one.
Fantastic filming of the cars, the trip and the sights of New York. Thanks from Australia 👍🇦🇺

I drove my 1970 bug from NY to Myrtle beach in 95 and she drove like a charm there and back.
my first car was a 2 year old 1970...I really miss that car1
