Ah, yes, the suspension bridges aren’t too bad once you survive your first one! lol. I didn’t like to stop though, or look directly down, just keep moving slowly to get to the other side! 😄😅👌

Hello, my dear Jen! How wonderful to continue with you this fantastic and unique travel and life experience! What wonderful views you have seen, crossed bridges with high heights and rivers below you... a wonderful setting. And you have always stopped in such pretty places and in such comfortable locations even in such distant places! Absolutely wonderful. A unique adventure, truly, unforgettable, that you are making us live step by step as if we were with you. A splendid testimony, Jen. I hug you tightly and await the continuation! Ha ve a blessed week, darling! My huge like, as always. Renata
Hello dear Renata! Thanks for coming along with me on the trek and visiting Namche Bazaar! Isn’t it wonderful to see how the Sherpa people live in the high mountains! O yes, the suspension bridges are impressive and the villages are beautiful. While the trek is challenging, it’s also so rewarding. We had great weather, no rain at all and not much wind. You too have a blessed week! Hugs and best wishes from Washington! 😄🇳🇵❤️🏔️ Jen
Hi Jen! That was another wonderful looking section of the Everest Base Camp trek! What we particularly like is the fact that while hiking you get to experience the picturesque nature with great waterfalls, interesting vegetation and majestic mountains of the Himalayas on the one hand, but also the everyday life of the people there, who are on the trails with their donkeys, mules or dzos or do their small farming around the villages! And of course... the bridges, monasteries, teahouses, trail snacks and guide dogs are also super interesting to see! We are already looking forward to the sequel :) Best regards from Cologne and see you soon!
Hi Iris and Micha- thanks for joining us! Me too, it was great to get a glimpse into the everyday life of the Sherpa people. I really enjoyed seeing their micro farms and animals, and the flowers they were growing, very pretty. We have marigolds and cosmos flowers too- felt like one big family to see them growing in the high mountains. Thanks for taking the time to watch and say hello! Have a fun weekend - hope you have an adventure planned! 🏔️🏔️🏔️ Jen 😄
Jennifer, beautiful trekking weather and cool that the pace is nice and relaxed. Loved all the trees, reminded me of your closer to home treks. Those glacial fed rivers are not to be messed with and the suspension bridges are the perfect solution👍 The dogs appreciated your attention early in the morning. That 'high bridge' was really high and cool to have views of some of the higher peaks, including Everest, from the National Park. Namche is quite the place at that height and I am sure a welcome sight after a hard day of climbing.
Thanks Gerry, great to hear from you again! At the time I didn’t realize the high bridge is the Hillary Bridge! Quite the sight to have 2 suspension bridges at the same spot. O yes, the rivers were running high and no doubt were close to freezing. The trail, as well as the bridges are all quite a feat of engineering- we saw a few spots with recent washouts that were in need of repair. We could see how carefully rocks were brought in to build up some sections - and they get so much use with the animals going up and down as well as people. It was great to go at a relaxed pace with no worries and no rush. Thanks for taking the time to watch and say hello! We’ve had a bit of cool weather and rain today, I imagine it’s similar for you! Happy 2025, Jen 😄🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
@@ChristianPaulPhotography Yep, the rivers are glacial melt, just like Denali. Me too, loved seeing the Sherpa people and how they live here in the high Himalayas!! 👌🏔️🏔️😄 Big thanks!! Jen
Beautiful waterfalls! The donkeys are cute. I haven't seen them use stairs before. Stunning mountains and sky! You really went far! Slow and steady wins the race. Cute dogs. Holy Mountain was very pretty! I love those bridges! It's cool that you went vegetarian for this trip. Great video! 😃💚👊
@@IceBearHalfwayPoint Morning IceBear! Do you eat a vegetarian diet? We’ve been trying more at home too, but I’m a big fan of chicken, lol. We had pretty good weather which was so nice, great views. Are the donkeys amazing… I guess they grow up doing these stairs but it’s still challenging, very steep in places and so uneven. Some places wash out with bad weather too. They’re tough and great animals. Thanks so much for joining us! Have a great weekend - hope you have good weather, it’s super windy here today. 👌👊💚🏔️☀️ Jen
@ We had a really nice red lentil soup at a local café and later tried fixing the recipe ourselves- turned out pretty well. We’re trying to find one or two veg recipes here and there to get started. 👌😁 (on the trek they recommend eating vegetarian due to lack of meat storage like back home)
Nice healthy breakfast and sounds sensible to break up the long journey, so soon after getting there. Loved the waterfalls but just under £1 for a carrot - yikes and I would not fancy meeting one of those buffo low on the bridge come the opposite way to me. They do like their long suspension bridges over there but it allowed some great views over the river and to the mountains in the background. Fingers crossed you get those next morning blue skies and sunshine, cheers Alan
Hi Alan! The suspension bridges are not too scary once you've crossed them a couple times... I stayed clear of the pack animals though, whew! Me too, I wouldn't want to see a dzo or donkey going my way, or the opposite!! This was an amazing adventure- loved being there in person to see Mount Everest and the other tall giants!! Thanks so much and Merry Christmas!! Hi to Mrs. Metalman :)
Thanks so much Martha! I’m really happy to have you come along on the journey with us! The people and villages along the way are really wonderful. Thank you!! 😄🏔️💚🌱🌿🍃🇳🇵
So amazing Jen we loved this one too. The houses that you passed in the village were so good to see and so was that bazzaar. Loved the view of Everest and the dogs were adorable! It's really good that you had those porters carrying your bags 😃 Fabulous photography. We are watching in the big tv and I'm commenting at the end on my phone I hope I don't forget anything! ~ Anna 👍🫂
You guys are awesome, thanks Anna! This is an amazing area to visit! I really respect the Nepali people who live high in the mountains, and live in remote areas. Lots of people come trekking through their neighborhood, lol! I loved seeing their pretty flowers and gardens - we saw nice tomato plants and other vegetables growing! The Namche Bazaar has been a trading center for a very long time. The Sherpa people are an ethnic group who live in this area, they are the ones who have contributed so much to the mountaineers who climb up to summit Everest. Thanks again! Have a great day! 🏔️🏔️🏔️🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵 Jen 😄
@JenniferLupine We loved seeing the adorable houses, the people are patient letting the hikers and animals pass by them😃 My aunt and uncle lived on a mountainside here in North Wales and hikers were always passing by the back of their house to get up the mountain ⛰️ 😀 Have a good day 👋💕
I'm so glad you documented your adventure. What a beautiful and fascinating place. Really nice that your group was able to figure out your pace and add an extra night so you could really enjoy and not push it. Such serious altitude! The prayer stones and prayer wheels are beautiful. I'm looking forward to the next video ☺Thank you!
Hi T - yes, it sure was nice that we had the flexibility to change plans and go at a pace that allowed us to acclimate and feel comfortable- we were gaining good altitude each day! I wish I could read a bit of Nepali and read a few of the prayers. At any rate, they are beautiful and give us an appreciation of the culture. 👌👍🇳🇵❤️ Thanks - Jen 😄
Skardu, Kalam, Hunza Valley, Abbottabad, Swat, and the northern regions of Pakistan are very beautiful. Go there in July. The people there are also very hospitable.
@@GupshupCookingvlog I would love to! I don’t travel often, but would love to see these beautiful areas of Pakistan. Last might I watched a few videos of the colorful work trucks in Pakistan. Great people, culture and natural beauty! 💚💚
Hi, thank you! The nature in the Himalayas is wonderful! Every day there were new things to see. O yes, the porters that carry the goods up and down the trail have a very difficult job. Thankfully we had porters with us to carry most of our things- we had a light day pack with water and snacks. Thanks my friend!! Jen
Wow these views are absolutely stunning!!! I love the little towns as well! This would be an incredible life goal for me! For now, I’m way out of shape! 😮😂 I’m really enjoying taking this hike with you!
Well, I hope that maybe you’ll feel you can trek here one day, you’ll love it, I’m sure! I loved seeing the villages too, and the flowers and gardens and seeing how local people live. You also get a sense of what it’s like with all the foreign trekkers moving through- I heard that 300 start out each day! There are other treks besides just to Everest Base Camp, but this one is most popular for Americans from what I can tell. The landscape is breathtaking! Thanks! 😄🙌🙌🏔️💚🇳🇵❤️☀️💛 - Jen
A beautiful shooting of your journey through these iconic villages with stunning views of the surrounding peaks, suspension bridges over the river and ancient Buddhist monasteries and prayer wheels ❤️
Hi Vedrana! Did you trek through this area when you were there? I believe Namche Bazaar has been a center of trade and travel for quite a long time. Isn’t it wonderful to see where the Sherpa people live and see their Buddhist Monasteries which support their spiritual life! Thanks! 🇳🇵❤️
@@JenniferLupine We didn't start from Lukla and weren't that high. We started from Pokhara on the Mardi Himal Trek and ended up at an altitude of 4500 m. Still, the views were beautiful and we enjoyed every moment ❤️
Hi, Jen! So you continued your trail a little slower and took your time to acclimatize.. Wise decision! On day 3 you had to hike some really steep sections. But the views were awesome and the high bridge was adventurous. We're surprised at the high standard of the teahouses and hotels. Everything seems so neat and clean. We are looking forward to the next stages. All the best and cheers, Christiane and Werner
Hi Christian and Werner- yes, the Tea Houses all have very high standards of being neat and clean, and with friendly service. Though they are high in the mountains, the food was always hot and fresh and they didn’t run out of anything that I know of. I also noted in the villages that they cleaned off the trail and steps each night. Yes, going a bit slower was just the right thing for us. Thanks so much! 🙌🙌 Jen
It's awesome that you guys had some extra time to be able to take an extra day and climb at a more leisurely pace. Also very wise of hour guide to suggest it rather than push you to continue faster. Such amazing views.
Yes, our tour guide was very responsive to planning the trek based on our abilities and needs. We thought it was good to go just a bit slower than the usual route due to our ages- give us more time to naturally acclimate. I’m thankful I didn’t have any issues or need to take any medication for elevation during the trek. 🙌🙌 Plus we had a little more time to enjoy the views 😉😄👍 Thanks for taking the time to watch!
Hi Grace! O yes, it was a wonderful adventure! I want to thank you for sharing your trip videos too- they helped me get an idea of what to expect along the way. Iconic for sure! Thank you- have a great day! 😄🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
Awesome adventure! Stunning falls and views. Cool suspended bridge. The fact that you hike high elevation mountains must have helped over there in some ways? Take care :)
Hi Alex, I think hiking at high elevation here in the states helped a lot! I spent several weeks this summer camping and hiking at 10,000’ to 12,000’ … not that I was still acclimated, but I had practice acclimating. I started running too for better cardio. O yes, very exciting to be in the Himalayas. 😉😄🏔️🏔️🏔️
Wow. Love those two bridges you crossed. What an adventure. We'd love to do this someday. ❤ Looks like days 2 and 3 were a success! We've watched a few videos about Everest in the past, and we'd be content just making it to base camp. Can't imagine summiting Everest. You'd have to be in such good shape with a good mountaineering resume, plus we see that it costs A LOT. So proud of you and your friends for doing this trek to base camp. Way to go! 😊
@@TheWanderingWulfs Hi Rachel and John! Me too- I’ve never wanted to try mountaineering - never thought about summiting Everest, too cold and too challenging for me! I’m really happy hiking at lower elevation and staying below the glaciers!! I hope you can do the trek to Base Camp one day- definitely doable, and rewarding!! 👌😄🏔️🏔️🏔️Thanks!!
Hi, Jennifer So many kind of animals work as transportation you may have bumped into on the trail. but the landscape may change in any minutes.. The trail is still looking familiar with trees and waterfalls at this point..haha Are the goods in the store pricey? I am wondering what are carved on the rocks on the right 14:12 Those swing bridges remind me ones in the rainforest in Costa Rica. I am glad to hear that the new plan was made BC of the concern of the your friends' health? The guide must to be experienced and his profession made that call Now you are about your own that you may have not had it in your mind.. Beautiful filming..
It was really interesting to see how the animals navigate the steep paths and stairs- they are quite remarkable, especially with loads on their backs. They're a vital part of moving goods for the local people. Things weren't too pricy, we bought bottled water water every day and a few snacks. Hari was great making adjustments to the trek plan to help us all adjust to the high elevation!! The painted rocks are prayer rocks! I wish I could read the words! When did you go to Costa Rica? Sounds amazing! - Jen
Just stunning Jen. The villages and the bridges and the pack animals - such beauty Loved the dogs welcome and the suspension bridges. The Hillary High Bridge was awesome and the first view of Everest incredible!! 😍 Absolutely loving following along on this epic trek. The word epic gets used too often but this one is truly epic! One question Jen, what did your guide carry in his little blue bag? He has a massive pack but always carries the blue bag - emergency equipment or rations maybe? This series has been amazing to watch!
Hi Dave and Sue - big thanks for joining us on the trek! I didn’t know at first, but later found out, that Hari was carrying fresh fruit for us in the blue bag - nice fresh bananas! We got fresh hot food at the Tea Houses, but the fruit was an added bonus! I had fresh banana in my oatmeal a couple mornings and we were given a fresh fruit plate after dinner each night- what a welcome surprise! (They were also carrying pomegranates for us- we had one to share each night!) Yes, the trek is epic- very special to get our first views of Mount Everest! Have a great week- hard to believe it’s almost Christmas! 😄🇳🇵🇳🇵🌏💚
Brilliant Jennifer that first view of Everest 🏔️ must of been spectacular and a moment to savour especially after a tuff trek 👌🏻 Those bridges wow ! Can definitely see why namchee Bazaaris so named with the stores and merchants along the streets! Top draw Jennifer 🤠👍🏔️ Best wishes Simon
Awesome, thanks Simon! We had perfect sunny weather that day for seeing the tip top of Everest- so exciting! I’ve never dreamed of climbing to the summit- getting an in person view was indeed spectacular! ❤❤ Isn’t Namche a cool place - I understand that the Sherpa people have a long history of being great trades people! I’m sure this area is bustling in April and May during the prime Expedition season. We were there in early October which was just perfect for us! 👌☀☀🏔🏔 All the best, Jen 😁
I wonder what the safety standards are for those bridges😁 That's pretty high up there! Did you do the vegetation diet by choice or was that all that was offered?
@@agesadventures Morning Age! O yes, the bridges are high and pretty darn long too! I tried to show what the whole walk across is like! There was limited meat available, but they recommend eating only vegetarian due to less available meat and storage. For example I saw one porter carrying a leg of beef up the mountain. A big part of the challenge is getting food that sits well with your stomach while you are also increasing elevation each day. There were plenty of fresh eggs plus vegetables and potatoes. The veg omelets were good, French toast, fried eggs and potatoes, soup, plus dal baht - the very popular rice dish with a hot vegetable. Thanks!!
@ I didn’t feel any stomach issues, I just tended to feel a bit slower walking uphill than usual. We went slow enough from night to night in gaining elevation that I got acclimated pretty well, and I drank lots of water! 👌 I didn’t need to take any medications. 👍👍😉😁 Thanks!

@JenniferLupine its so fun when you hike in to Namche Bazaar, its like coming to a big city in the middel of all the Mountains. Great views if you climb to the top over the town.
@ O yes, great views! We made it up to the Everest View Hotel- wouldn’t it be great to stay there!! I loved our tea house though, got a hot shower 2 days in a row!! 😄
@ It really is!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Stunning views and awesome waterfalls
Beautiful place to visit 😍 💚💚💙💯
Thank you so much! The Himalayas are breathtaking!😄🏔️🏔️
😄🇳🇵❤️🏔️ Jen
@JenniferLupine Hello, dear Jen!! A true pleasure to enjoy your WONDERFUL experience!! HUGS and happy time!😘😍💖
Cooler here with some snow and ice❄Happy hiking in 2025😊
Really cool to see all that culture set in that mountain range! The grey silty rivers remind me of Denali. That high bridge was wild!
@@ChristianPaulPhotography Yep, the rivers are glacial melt, just like Denali. Me too, loved seeing the Sherpa people and how they live here in the high Himalayas!! 👌🏔️🏔️😄 Big thanks!! Jen
This is a well made video of you. Wonderful footage. I really enjoyed watching. Many greetings 😀
Hello friend, glad you enjoyed the video! Greetings from Washington State! 😄🌲🌲🌲
👌👊💚🏔️☀️ Jen
@JenniferLupine No, I haven't tried vegetarian. I should.
@ We had a really nice red lentil soup at a local café and later tried fixing the recipe ourselves- turned out pretty well. We’re trying to find one or two veg recipes here and there to get started. 👌😁 (on the trek they recommend eating vegetarian due to lack of meat storage like back home)
Thanks Jennifer for the lovely video. Amazing scenery.
@ Hi Rimona- how are you? Thanks, I’m really happy you enjoyed the video! Thanks for joining us! Have a great weekend - 😄 Jen
Those bridges are crazy cool. What an adventure!
Hi Dan - whew, it sure was exciting to walk across the bridges! I wa very impressed to see the animals walk across too- with their heavy loads! 🙌🙌🇳🇵🇳🇵
beautiful view
Hi, thanks for watching! 🇳🇵🇳🇵
Some really beautiful waterfalls on this section. I like it! 😁
😁 Thanks Leon! 🏔🏔🏔
Wonderful....A trek that you will never forget
Yes, you’re right! It was a special opportunity!☺️😁🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵 Thanks!
Maravilloso escenario para disfrutar de la montaña. Algo grandioso 👍.
Gracias! Thanks MrArgoma! 👌☀️💛🇳🇵❤️🏔️💚
PS. In the UK we say Merry Christmas!
Hi to Mrs. Metalman :)
Breathtaking views wowww I really love & enjoy the adventure 😍
Thank you for storyteller & information Jennifer 🙏🏾💙
Thanks so much Martha! I’m really happy to have you come along on the journey with us! The people and villages along the way are really wonderful. Thank you!! 😄🏔️💚🌱🌿🍃🇳🇵
This place is so beautiful and peaceful, so gorgeous and fantastic, I think I will visit it one day
I hope you get to visit! It's a very special place. 🏔️ 🌏💚
What an awesome exploration vlog this has been! Do keep up the amazing work, friends! Stay safe and stay connected~

what an incredible adventure!😍 Walking with nature is so rewarding😍
Thanks my friend! It sure is wonderful! Great to have you join us! 😄🏔️🏔️🏔️
Incroyable aventure 😮 merci pour le partage 😊🎉❤
Hello, thank you, Merci! I’m happy you enjoyed the video! 👌🏔️🏔️🏔️
Amazing Everest base camp.
Hi, thank you! These mountains are wonderful! 😄🏔️🏔️🏔️
@JenniferLupine We loved seeing the adorable houses, the people are patient letting the hikers and animals pass by them😃
My aunt and uncle lived on a mountainside here in North Wales and hikers were always passing by the back of their house to get up the mountain ⛰️ 😀 Have a good day 👋💕
I'm so glad you documented your adventure.
A number of fantastic villages along your travel route in Nepal. An extraordinary presentation indeed !!
Thanks! Aren’t the villages wonderful! I really respect the Nepali people! Thanks! 🏔️🏔️🏔️
Beautiful views with waterfalls, river, so on. But trekking with a heavy load is tough.
Thanks! 😄🙌🙌🏔️💚🇳🇵❤️☀️💛 - Jen
wow! An incredible journey, most never get to take
Thank you! Yes, the Himalayas are incredible!🏔️🏔️🏔️
Nice Jennifer. Thank you for sharing 😊
@@NorwayHikesTrails Good morning! Thanks Arnstein! 😁☀️☀️
Thanks! 🇳🇵❤️
Very beautiful scenery 👌
@@JenniferLupine We didn't start from Lukla and weren't that high. We started from Pokhara on the Mardi Himal Trek and ended up at an altitude of 4500 m. Still, the views were beautiful and we enjoyed every moment ❤️
@ O wow, I’m sure you did! I’ll have to look on the map. There are really lots of treks, but here in the US we mostly only hear about the EBC.
That was an amazing adventure
😄🏔️👌 Thanks DJ!!
good morning have a great day enjoy the hike
Awesome, thank you! 😄🏔️🏔️🏔️
All the best and cheers,
Christiane and Werner
Great to know you did this hike too, Jennifer! It made me reminisce my trek last year :) Such an iconic hike indeed!
Hi Grace! O yes, it was a wonderful adventure! I want to thank you for sharing your trip videos too- they helped me get an idea of what to expect along the way. Iconic for sure! Thank you- have a great day! 😄🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
A good day 2 & 3 Jen. 😎 Some stunning scenery in the NP. Cool bridges too. Seen them in a few pics n videos over the years.
Hey Kev! Are you ready to book a trip and pack your bags? You’d love being there in person, I’m sure!! Thanks 🙌🙌🏔️🏔️
@JenniferLupine Hopefully one day. 🤞
Amazing places!
Hi Kevin! How are you guys? Thanks for watching! 😉😄🇳🇵🇳🇵
Such amazing vlogs forever I really enjoyed it
Many thanks Erik! The Himalayan mountains are a great place for exploring! Happy Saturday! 🏔️🏔️🏔️
beautiful village
Thanks! The villages are such a part of the charm of this trek! 😄🏔️🏔️🏔️
Hi, Jennifer
So many kind of animals work as transportation you may have bumped into on the trail.
but the landscape may change in any minutes..
The trail is still looking familiar with trees and waterfalls at this point..haha
Are the goods in the store pricey?
I am wondering what are carved on the rocks on the right 14:12
Those swing bridges remind me ones in the rainforest in Costa Rica.
I am glad to hear that the new plan was made BC of the concern of the your friends' health?
The guide must to be experienced and his profession made that call
Now you are about your own that you may have not had it in your mind..
- Jen
Such a beautiful video thanks
Hello my friend, thank you! 😄☀️☀️🇳🇵🇳🇵
Just stunning Jen.
The villages and the bridges and the pack animals - such beauty
Loved the dogs welcome and the suspension bridges. The Hillary High Bridge was awesome and the first view of Everest incredible!! 😍
Absolutely loving following along on this epic trek.
Brilliant Jennifer that first view of Everest 🏔️ must of been spectacular and a moment to savour especially after a tuff trek 👌🏻
Those bridges wow !
Can definitely see why namchee Bazaaris so named with the stores and merchants along the streets!
Top draw Jennifer 🤠👍🏔️
Best wishes Simon
Awesome, thanks Simon! We had perfect sunny weather that day for seeing the tip top of Everest- so exciting! I’ve never dreamed of climbing to the summit- getting an in person view was indeed spectacular! ❤❤ Isn’t Namche a cool place - I understand that the Sherpa people have a long history of being great trades people! I’m sure this area is bustling in April and May during the prime Expedition season. We were there in early October which was just perfect for us! 👌☀☀🏔🏔 All the best, Jen 😁
@ a brilliant watch 👌🏻🤠
Nice video. Which month did you trek? Think we were there on same dates
Hi! Wow, that would be cool! We started out from Lukla on October 4, 2024.👌 Hope you had a great time! 🇳🇵🇳🇵
Thanks!!
@@JenniferLupine Interesting. Do you start to feel a little queasy in the stomach the higher you climb?
@ I didn’t feel any stomach issues, I just tended to feel a bit slower walking uphill than usual. We went slow enough from night to night in gaining elevation that I got acclimated pretty well, and I drank lots of water! 👌 I didn’t need to take any medications. 👍👍😉😁 Thanks!
👌👌🌹🌹❤❤🌷🌷👍👍😊😊
