Thank you for sharing this awesome video and presentation. Wonderful wind. Amazing river. Stay healthy and safe my Friend. Have a Fabulous and relaxing week!
Hi, thank you for your positive feedback and enthusiasm! I’m really happy you are enjoying the videos! My goal is to present the trek in a way that you can enjoy the beauty of the mountains and get a feeling for what it’s like to trek there. Big thanks! Have a great day! - Jen 😄🏔️🏔️🏔️🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
I hope your friend is okay. Beautiful trek! I love how the mountains are in the clouds. That memorial at Thukla Pass is sombering. Absolutely stunning footage! Great video! 😃💚👊
Hi IceBear! Vini felt much better after going down in elevation and resting for a week or so. It was very helpful that the village where we were, Dingboche, had an experienced doctor who has trained and worked with Everest Expedition climbers. High elevation trekking can be really rough. Yes, the memorials at Thukla Pass are sobering- lots of good people who didn’t make it home. I’m happy you’re enjoying the footage! Many thanks, Jen 😄🤗🙌🙌🏔💚🇳🇵❤☀💛👊👍
Unreal scenery.... it looks absolutely amazing - almost too good to be true! 😀 Keep sharing Jennifer, I love your videos - although i sometimes am a bit late to watch (like this time) But I always come to watch sooner or later, and I genuinely enjoy your videos. Adventures and new experiences, that's what life's about (in my opinion). Wishing you a happy and healthy new year, with lots of new adventures coming your way.... (unless you find them first, haha...) Thomas
Haha, thanks so much Thomas! Your videos are so amazing, I thank you for taking time to watch mine. ☺️ When ever you have time I’m happy to hear from you. Have you visited Nepal? If not I hope you can one day. The people are lovely and the landscapes are fantastic! 🇳🇵❤️🏔️💚💙💙💙
Pretty awesome trek! You found the snow and ice. It must be cold at that elevation even in the warmer months. Those views are pretty epic above tree line with those towering mountains all around. Slow and steady will win the race! Well done on your trek so far. So awesome! Take care and have a wonderful day.
Thanks Steve! The trek was an amazing experience! It’s quite breathtaking once you get above tree line, impressive mountains in every direction! Yes, I’m sure it is quite cold year round in these higher elevations - I noticed it October it cooled off rapidly once the sun went behind the ridge in the afternoon. So far, so good!! You too, Happy Sunday! ☀☀🏔🏔🏔
Hi Jennifer.. wow.. you have such a lovely weather, but looks cold :) On the positive side, the views of the mountains with contrasts of the snow are breathtaking! Makes me reminisce my hike too :) Thanks for sharing.
Hi Grace- We had great weather most of the time, sunny mornings, a few clouds in the afternoon, but no rain or snow! It did get pretty cold the last few days in the higher elevations. I’m really happy that you got to do this trek too, I really enjoyed following along with your videos. I’d love to go back and do a different trekking route one day, don’t know if it will work out, but I’ll dream about it! Great to hear from you, have a fun weekend! - Jen 😄🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
Hi Larissa and Alex - Thanks for watching and saying hi! Aren’t these mountains amazing! I loved Nepal and seeing the mountains in person! Hope you’re having a great start to 2025! All the Best, Jen 😄🏔️🏔️🏔️
Thanks so much my friend! These mountains are wonderful - we were fortunate to have sunny skies and clear views. I’m happy to have you join me on the journey! All the best - Jennifer 🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
Hi Jennifer. What a beauty this is. I watched the whole video in total amazement at how fantastic the path to the base camp looks. I mean, I wasn't expecting forests of course, but the view of the mountains is just breathtaking. Every time we hike somewhere for a long time we hope for nice weather, which you definitely had. Take care and happy New Year. 🖐😊🤗
Hi, thanks! I know what you mean about weather - you can plan your trip very carefully, and choose a good month, but you never know what the weather might do, especially in the mountains! The week before they had a surprise snowfall of 2-3 feet and were unable to read Base Camp. Our guide was there, he only got one day off before he started back trekking with us! They loaned us micro-spikes in case we had ice or snow. Thanksfully that bad weather passed. I’m really happy you’re enjoying seeing the mountains and landscapes. 😄🤗🙌🙌🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵 Jen
Great opening scene here Jen, we are watching on the TV again and commenting here. For sorry to hear about Vini and Sri not going on further, hope all is ok 🙏. Periphe Village was fabulous and where you stood by the mountains at Thuckla, they were beautiful. Looked cold though ! Each time you go to the tea house, Alf goes to our kitchen for food haha, he even commented that the snowy mountains look like a Toblerone 😄 It started to look really hard walking up Thukla Pass, sad to see the memorials there but good that they have them. Such a wonderful experience and its great for us to watch, we are really enjoying this 🙂👍~ Anna
You’re awesome Anna and Alf! I’m happy you’re watching together on the tv, that’s so cool! I loved seeing the various villages along the way and thinking about how people live there, especially in the winter! Aren’t their animals great to see, an integral part of their lives. Alf is funny, 😂 . I was sad to see all the memorials too, sad for the sherpas and climbers who never made it home. This can be an u forgiving place when the storms roll in. I was happy going to Base Camp, wouldn’t even want to try going higher up on Everest! 🫣 Have a great day and weekend, Jen 😄🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
Another excellent video of your trek. Conveyed is the feeling of how thin the air is up there. Your panning of the views is so smooth! Wishing you a good new year.
@@rimonagale1625 Hi and thanks so much! I’m happy you got a feeling of what it’s like to be there, to trek through the landscape and admire the mountain peaks!! You too, a very Happy 2025!! 🎆🎆🎆😄 - Jen
Thanks so much Mekay! We were fortunate to have sunshine in the mornings, a great way to get started- so thrilling to see the mountain peaks. Thanks for joining me! 😄🇳🇵🇳🇵🏔️🏔️ Jen
Hi Jen, I'm sorry Sri and Vini couldn't continue with you, but those are serious heights and not everyone can adapt to them. I'm glad you're feeling well, and these landscapes you're passing through, the colors and views, are incredible. And you had a wonderful weather, which is very important on a trip like this. Wish you a happy New Year and lot of great adventures ❤️
Hi Vedrana- it was very unfortunate that Sri and Vini couldn’t continue. As you know, the elevation is very high, and takes a lot out of you! Fortunately there was a good doctor who could see them, right in Dingboche - he works as an Expedition Doctor and so he knows elevation related issues vey well. The good news is Vini felt much better after about a week or so. As for the weather, I don’t believe we could have asked for better! We had sunny clear skies almost every morning, and generally a few clouds developed in the afternoon. It got fairly cold as we gained in elevation, but I felt very well prepared and stayed warm! Many thanks- and a very Happy 2025! 😄🎆🎆✨🕊️- Jen
Amazing hike. Stunning place and mountains. Looks really special. Thanks for taking us on this fantastic journey. Awesome video. Wishing you a blessed and peaceful 2025. Like nr 10 🙂
Thanks so much John! The trek is very special, and I’m thankful I had the opportunity! The mountains are fantastic, I can see why so many people are drawn to explore here. Have a great week! - Jen ☀️☀️🏔️🏔️🏔️
I'm so sorry that Sri and Vini weren't able to finish out the adventure, but really glad that you kept going - the scenery just gets more and more breathtaking! Thank you for sharing this trek - really amazing. You have my husband watching as well 😆 We both are enjoying these a lot. Have a great week ahead!
Hi, great to have your husband interested too! Thanks to both of you for the great support! The trek was a great experience- nice to be home with my regular food now, lol. Everything worked out for Sri and Vini. It was a bit emotional for me, but once we worked out the details, and I realized I wasn’t really going alone, Hari and Maitaram and I were the new team, and everything worked out perfectly! 👌😄 You too - have a great week! - Jen
Thanks so much! The trek is an amazing experience- fortunately we had great weather to show off the mountains! The Nepali people are wonderful, very welcoming! Happy 2025! 😄🎉🎉🎉
@@HikeCamp Hi Max, me too. Trekking and hiking in the high elevation is serious and challenging - she’s all better now, but had a rough week or so. O yes, once we got above tree line it was amazing to see these mountain peaks and fun to learn their names! I wish we lived closer- would be awesome to go back. It’s quite a journey just to get to Nepal!! 😆😄 Hope you guys are having good weather and a great start to 2025! 🎆🎆🎆 - Jen
Hi Jennifer! Sorry that you fellow trekkers couldn't continue but I am glad you were able to keep going. You really had some beautiful skies to set off the mountains. So amazing.
@@DonnaTaibossigai Good morning, thanks Donna! The weather was all around great, yes loved those blue skies. Quite a journey- thanks for watching! 🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
@@riversandcoffee Hi Jim! This is one place where Epic is indeed a great description! Hard to believe we were so close to Everest, the top of the world!! The trek is personally challenging, but so worth it 👌😁 Thanks!! Jen
Hey Jen, the track is absolutely amazing and challenging of course. It's a rewarding beautiful sunny weather and good you managed stay warm without heating in the room with minus temperature at night. Khumbu Glacier covered by some clouds looks mesmerising 👍66
@@Mashemell.Travel Hi Maria! The trek was quite an adventure, and I loved it! We sure had perfect weather, no rain or snow and not much wind. O yes, it was amazing to see the Khumbu Glacier in person, thanks!! 😄🏔️🏔️🏔️💚🩵
Yes, you’d love it! The donkeys and horse and dzos all have bells, so you can hear them coming- but no motors!! I loved being there, glad the footage turned out! Acclimatizing was my first priority, filming was second, lol! Yay they both worked out! 🙌🙌😎😁 Jen
Another awesome couple of days. Very sad that your friends had to stay behind! Better to be safe, though. Your guide and porter are both so great! The mountain views are so stunning. The memorials on Thukla Pass were very sobering. The Khumbu Glacier is very impressive. So proud of you for doing this!!! Way to go, Jen! 🥰
Thanks for your support and encouragement Rachel and John! It was so helpful to have Hari and a guide and Maitaram as our porter. They were wonderfully supportive and fun to trek with. One thing I didn’t include, for copyright reasons, is the wonderful Nepali music that you hear the local porters playing on speakers as they walk along with their loads or animals. It’s quite charming. We didn’t have music with us, but you’d hear it Moe in the local areas as you passed people or they passed us. The mountains sure are breathtaking - in all it’s a wonderful cultural experience! Big thanks - Jen 😄🏔️💚🇳🇵❤️☀️💛
Sad news about your friends but so pleased you decided to continue on, its a once in a lifetime trip and one you need to complete. WOW those views - that's what I am talking about - stunning! Sounded like you were not taking any chances getting cold overnight and despite the morning sun that ground looked frozen solid. Whoooo Thukla Pass looked great the snow on the mountains looked amazing but shame to see all the memorials, which brings it home how dangerous it is up there. That flat walking was a real bonus so you could take in all those awesome views and I like the sound of slow! The view from the glacier was jaw dropping and you have been lucky with the weather, fingers crossed it holds, cheers Alan
Hi Alan- it was a bit daunting to think about the trek before I got to Nepal, but I felt as prepared as possible, and off we went! I’m happy that I felt good and was able to continue, whew. The guides and porters do an amazing job - the tree king company plans all the details so you can focus on trekking and taking care of yourself - and making a video about the trek, lol! 😆 Weren’t the views amazing! We had good weather, sun and blue skies almost every morning, later in the afternoons a few clouds would roll in. Yep, the weather held for the last day at Base Camp, woohoo - one video to go. I really appreciate you celebrating this adventure with me! Cheers, Jen 😄🙌🙌🇳🇵❤🏔💚☀💛
Hi and thanks Hai Hai! It was a long journey from Lukla to Base Camp, quite a wonderful adventure! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and say hello! 😄🏔️💚🇳🇵❤️☀️💛
Hi Jen! What a shame for your friends! But of course health comes first! Great that you were able to continue! Iron Jen cannot be stopped.;-) The impressions are still overwhelming! Kind regards, Christiane and Werner
Hi, yes, it was too bad that my friends had to turn back, but it all worked out for the best for them. The high elevation trekking sure is challenging. Wasn’t the scenery amazing, new views each day. Big thanks! 👌😄🏔️🏔️🏔️. - Jen
Hi Bryan- isn’t this an amazing mountain region! I loved it and hope I can go back one day, now that I have seen it first hand! I haven’t hiked at high elevation as much as you have, but I spent as much time in Utah as possible this last summer, adapting to hiking at 10,000’. We combined that with going just a bit slower than average, and drinking plenty of water, and thankfully I didn’t have any elevation issues! It’s great to hear from you, thanks! Happy 2025! Happy trails! 🏔🏔🏔
Jennifer, no doubt a very difficult decision not to continue, though health and safety is paramount at that altitude. I have to say a courageous decision to continue to EBC without your travelling companions👍 There is a sense of rawness with the landscape now - open to all the elements and the power of wind, snow, ice and water. More beautiful and cool weather☀ I am sure 'Himalayan flat' was welcome after all that climbing👣😊 Glaciers are amazing super highways carrying all that ice and carved out rock. Just stunning all the way.
Thanks so much Gerry! It was difficult that my friends couldn't go on, but they encouraged me to continue which was very nice of them. Hari figured out all the details and it all worked out for the best in the end. As we climbed higher I loved being above tree line and see these awe-inspiring mountain peaks. We had almost perfect weather, which you know can change in a moment up in the high elevations. Glaciers sure are amazing- I read that the Khumbu is the highest one in the world, which seems obvious... it's elevation is 4,900 M (16,000') at the terminus and 7,600 M (24,900') at its source. Wow!! Thanks :) Jen
Hi Jen! Your EverestBaseCamp tour is breathtaking in the truest sense of the word and reminds us of how we became more shaky and short of breath with every meter in the Andes between 4000 and 5000m more than ten years ago... It's a shame that your friends ended the trek due to health problems, but it was certainly the best decision... Your tactic of going a little higher with lots of small steps and plenty of fluids in your blood is exactly right and will be rewarded with many magnificent views of the Himalayan giants :) We can't wait to see what happens next! Best wishes from the Wandersocken Micha & Iris in Cologne and have a great weekend!
@@wandersocken Thanks Micha and Iris! Whew, you know exactly the feeling of trekking at these high elevations!! Inspiring and humbling to be there in person. I loved seeing these giants and trekking along the rivers, it’s a feeling you try to capture and carry with you! One more video, big thanks!! 😄🤗🏔️💚🇳🇵❤️☀️💛 - Jen
Out of this world views!!! Unbeatable. Heatlh before hikes...better to stop and be proud of what you did...Glad they are safe. Congrats on pushing further. Love the scenery. Take care Jen.
Thanks for taking us along on this journey glad Vini got the required help , that memorial at Tukla Pass must have been special and maybe a little somber to see. So many awesome views, I notice how important the regiment is that your guide made sure you followed the procedure to keep you healthy Thank You for sharing this journey with us
Hi Garry - so happy to have you join me, and happy that you’re enjoying these mountains! Fortunately there was a doctor available in the small village- he works with the Everest Expedition climbers, so he’s very experienced. Vini is fully recovered now, going down in elevation helped a lot, and rest. Yes, it’s somber to think of the people who lost their lives here, always good to remember their lives and efforts and not take things for granted. O yes, Hari was the best guide, we got to be good friends during the trek. Thanks for taking the time to match and share the journey! Hi to Tucker and your family! - Jen 😄🤗🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
Great episode, again. I can't imagine the logistics that goes into a trek like that, especially with the charging of the cameras, phones, etc. The views are spectacular. If I ever do get a chance to go there, your video series will be my go-to resource, it's an invaluable resource that I'm sure many other people will appreciate as well. However, "not being able to have a nap' is a bit of a deterrant for me! 😀
@@flynorthproductions Lol! I know! I would have liked to sneak in a little nap!! 😆 The logistics are a bit interesting ahead of time, but fall into place and make sense once you get there. We had 2 suitcases, one for India that we left there with friends, and one for Nepal. We took out the 15kg and loaded up our duffle bags, then checked the rest and the suitcase at the hotel in Kathmandu. There are lots of resources for packing lists, like when you’re going out on your kayak or canoe trips- bring the basics and a few snacks!! Plus I grouped everything and kept it all in various dry bags. I think you could make a go of it just fine!! 😄🙌🏔️🏔️🏔️
Sorry to hear your friends had to stay behind, but that was very kind of them to encourage you to go on. I hope your friend Vinni is feeling better. The scenery is so incredible and you make this journey look easy. It really hits home the reality of how difficult this journey is when you see those memorials.
The memorials are quite sobering - a good way to reflect remember those who lost their lives here. The mountains can be quite treacherous, especially trying to summit these tall peaks! Yes, Vini was feeling much better after a week or so, going back to lower elevations was a good start. Since I had come that far I’m really thankful I got to complete the trek- quite a memorable experience. Thanks! 🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵- Jen
@@DyanEsoap It sure is rewarding! Yes, the high elevation is the biggest challenge in my opinion. I hiked as much as possible in Utah at 10,000’ - 12,000’ to prep- Colorado and Wyoming have great high elevation hikes too. I wasn’t sure how it would be at 15,000 and 16,000+- thankfully I was able to acclimate and reach the goal!! You never know unless you try!! 😄😆👍🏔️🏔️🏔️ Thanks!!
Just gets better and better Jennifer 🏔️👌🏻🤠 Noticed the glacier shrinkage even at above 16000 feet 🥹 But your on point with your fitness (bravo for all those training runs state side 👍) really paying off now on the trek ! Brilliant 🙏🏼🏔️ Very best wishes Simon
Hi Simon - Isn’t it sad to see that even the high elevation glaciers are melting away. I loved seeing the Khumbu Glacier- but yes, I couldn’t help thinking about how thick and tall it must have been just 20-30 years ago. O Yes, running as part of my prep and training really helped! I’m not fast, but I figured that getting out there, building up stamina, and pushing myself is what I needed. Thanks again for your encouragement! 🙌🙌 😄👍👍 Wishing you many happy adventures in 2025! Jen
Hi Jen. Just catching up We’re in Spain with a good signal so watching this in awe Wow a shame that you had to continue without Sri and Vini. But you did seem really fit and well on the trip so far. An absolutely stunning leg of the journey the jagged peaks just go on and on! The Himalayan Flat looked my sort of hike! 😀 The Khumbu Glacier is incredible. Stories of the Khumbu Icefall on those historic Everest climes come flooding in. Unbelievably beautiful film. In awe of your efforts. And looking forward to the final push.
Hi Dave and Sue! Exciting that you made it to Spain! We visited there once and loved it, I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time! I had heard so much about the Khumbu Glacier too- isn't it amazing! The Khumbu Icefall is quite famous in Everest Expedition stories. (We watched a couple documentaries at one of the Tea Houses and I read two Expedition books on the flight home and as I was adjusting back to Pacific Time Zone at home.) This part of the trek was thrilling, being above tree line and seeing the tip top of Everest and the neighboring mountain peaks. I'm so thankful we had sunshine and the photos and video came out well. Thanks guys- Cheers!! Jen :)
Thanks Leon! It was a bit emotional for me when they can to that decision, but it was all for the best and they’re both just fine now. I loved trekking in these mountains, thanks! 🙌🙌🏔️🏔️

My dearest Jen! Hope you had a wonderful start to the New Year! For me, I have to say that I am happy that these holidays are over, because it was not easy to spend them for the first time without my beloved dad. My dear, what bad news about Sri and Vini! I hope that everything went well for Vini and that she was well! Of course the altitude can be a big problem, together with the tiredness of so many days of climbing. Anyway, darling, you are really making me participate in this incredible experience in the best way. I was very moved in front of the view of the imposing glacier and I thought about how excited you must be in front of all this beauty, knowing that you are really close to the final finish line of a truly unique adventure. You were very brave, I must say, to continue without your friends. It must not have been easy at all. You must not focus on the altitude but continue and continue thinking about the wonderful goal, the final finish line. I can't wait to admire the last part, Jen. Thank you so much for all this.
Each time you go to the tea house, Alf goes to our kitchen for food haha, he even commented that the snowy mountains look like a Toblerone 😄
It started to look really hard walking up Thukla Pass, sad to see the memorials there but good that they have them.
Breathtaking isn’t enough! Best trekk in the world, no doubt about it! 👏👏
Awesome!! Thanks Ervin- can’t ask for more than sunshine and glorious mountains!! 👌🏔️🏔️💚💚
Another excellent video of your trek. Conveyed is the feeling of how thin the air is up there. Your panning of the views is so smooth!

@@JenniferLupineYou're welcome!
😄🎆🎆✨🕊️- Jen
Hello my fren what a beauriful scenery . Thanks forctaking uswirh you . Happy New Year 2025. Wish you all the best this year.

Hey Jen, the track is absolutely amazing and challenging of course. It's a rewarding beautiful sunny weather and good you managed stay warm without heating in the room with minus temperature at night. Khumbu Glacier covered by some clouds looks mesmerising 👍66

Amazing Jennifer! A land with no motor vehicles…my kinda place lol. Really nice crisp footage. Great job capturing this adventure!

Hi, yes, it was too bad that my friends had to turn back, but it all worked out for the best for them. The high elevation trekking sure is challenging. Wasn’t the scenery amazing, new views each day. Big thanks! 👌😄🏔️🏔️🏔️. - Jen
This hike just keeps getting more and more beautiful. You seem to be handling the elevation very well Jennifer. Another excellent video!
This is definitely an experience you will never forget. Wow! Hope your friend is better and you still had a great time. Thanks for sharing with us 😊 😀
@@kevinandange Hi, yes, Vini is much better now, thanks. I loved the experience - thanks for joining me! 👌😄🏔️🏔️🏔️
Hi, yes, we hiked pretty high in elevation! I loved seeing the mountains! 🏔️💚 Thanks Yesid!
Thanks! 🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵- Jen
Just awesome Jennifer! If I thought I could handle the elevation I would love to do this hike.

But your on point with your fitness (bravo for all those training runs state side 👍) really paying off now on the trek !

Very best wishes Simon
Hi Simon - Isn’t it sad to see that even the high elevation glaciers are melting away. I loved seeing the Khumbu Glacier- but yes, I couldn’t help thinking about how thick and tall it must have been just 20-30 years ago. O Yes, running as part of my prep and training really helped! I’m not fast, but I figured that getting out there, building up stamina, and pushing myself is what I needed. Thanks again for your encouragement! 🙌🙌 😄👍👍 Wishing you many happy adventures in 2025!
(We watched a couple documentaries at one of the Tea Houses and I read two Expedition books on the flight home and as I was adjusting back to Pacific Time Zone at home.)
This part of the trek was thrilling, being above tree line and seeing the tip top of Everest and the neighboring mountain peaks. I'm so thankful we had sunshine and the photos and video came out well. Thanks guys- Cheers!! Jen :)
