Nice one mate! Just got some silver birch which I plan to use for shrink pots. Also been using blackthorn for making spoons - such beautiful heartwood.
Thanks. I love birch with both bark on and bark off. When the bark has turned green by algae you can easily wash them off, bringing out the nice white bark.
I'm admiring your bench/saw mate. Thinking about the slightly bowed black locust beams languishing in my basement, wondering if I could make a stable bench like yours out of slightly twisted members.
That should certainly well be possible. The main aspects for stability are thickness and weight. How thick? When it seems a little over the top, you're fine. On the bench in my video they could /should have been a little thicker and heavier for the sake of stability
These are from WoodTools. They are made by Robin Wood from the UK. Really good knives. Not the cheapest, but certainly well affordable and a really good price / quality ratio.
Het zijn de steekgutsen van Kirschen. Ik heb ze bij Baptist in Arnhem besteld. Het is echter een bekend merk en je kan ze bij de meeste gereedschapspeciaalzaken waarschijnlijk wel bestellen, maar ik denk niet bij een gewone bouwmarkt.
