I thought the shofar was a call to God. I guess I sort of associate it with the walls of Jericho. The shofar is beautiful. I recently ordered my first shofar. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone in America would blow the shofar as allies to Israel and a call to God for us to repent seek HIS face and HE will HEAL our land. SHALOM.🇮🇱🇱🇷🇮🇱🇱🇷🇮🇱
Wonderful overview of the role of the Shofar in our tradition and in our lives. Thank you for that gift. One thing I would like to add to the message about blowing the shofar is to remind people that during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, we must also remember to blow the shofar safely. By that I mean if you are planning to blow the shofar in person, with people not in your immediate bubble of COVIC safety, please stand at least 12-20 feet away from others (and downwind from others). If we are incorporating blowing the shofar into our virtual celebrations and services, it is safest if we alone or only in the presence of those in our own bubble. Shanna Tova! for a safe and awakening New Year, that brings us healing and enables us to continue to grow together -- even if virtually (for now).
