I just finished your book. What a wonderful read! Both my parents were only children who ignored me so because no one talked to me ( including my sister) I never discovered who I was. In my fourties I started spending time alone all day with God almost every day. I would worship him, pray and read my Bible. I got so I could hear his voice and now we talk back and fourth all day long. During this time I would pray to be normal. It took a long time, but now I know myself and can express myself comfortably.

Important to recognize the one approach that can avert a climate catastrophe; a major shift away from our current animal-based diets. Please consider: There used to be six trillion trees in the world but now there are only three trillion, mainly because over 40 percent of the world’s ice free land, most of which was previously forested, is now used for grazing and growing feed crops for animals. Because there is no longer sequestering of CO2 from these missing trees, atmospheric CO2, which was 285 parts per million (ppm) before the industrial revolution, is now about 420 ppm today, well over the 350 ppm that climate experts believe is a threshold for sustainability, and it has been increasing at over two ppm annually. Shifts to plant-based diets would enable reforesting of much of the vast areas now being used for animal agriculture, resulting in a reduction of atmospheric CO2 to a much safer level. They would also result in a sharp reduction of emissions from cows and other farmed animals of methane, a greenhouse gas over 80 times as potent as CO2 per unit weight during the 10 - 20 years it is in the atmosphere. Bottom line: We have a choice between a mainly vegan world and a devastated one. Please become part of the solution by eliminating or at least sharply reducing your consumption of meat and other animal products.

Good thang. I seen a few Jewish homesteads in the Northeast, which homesteading is a good community. But for religion, sincere Christians and Jews can support each other being in close proximity. Note I said sincere, where God is the focal point, which how do we show live towards God? By loving one another. Just like Catholic/Jewish cities, I've always heard their was good dialogue.

I thought the shofar was a call to God. I guess I sort of associate it with the walls of Jericho. The shofar is beautiful. I recently ordered my first shofar. Wonderful overview of the role of the Shofar in our tradition and in our lives. Thank you for that gift. One thing I would like to add to the message about blowing the shofar is to remind people that during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, we must also remember to blow the shofar safely. By that I mean if you are planning to blow the shofar in person, with people not in your immediate bubble of COVIC safety, please stand at least 12-20 feet away from others (and downwind from others). If we are incorporating blowing the shofar into our virtual celebrations and services, it is safest if we alone or only in the presence of those in our own bubble. Shanna Tova! for a safe and awakening New Year, that brings us healing and enables us to continue to grow together -- even if virtually (for now).
