Never saw a brand that dedicated to their users. Long time user here (2012?) and I just want to thank you for your dedication to create awesome tools for content creators filmakers… You change the industry
For all the features and accessories you get this is a really great deal! Only small downside for me: As much as I love Rode products the size of the Logos on the devices sometimes gets a bit out of hand. But great product!
$399 is their magic price for their products. They did the same thing with the Film maker kit years ago in 2017. To do that again with two lavs with 32 Bit float is an incredible feat. This is the upgrade to the original Film Maker Kit that we’ve been looking for for years. I will be purchasing. Great job Rode team!
Thank you for being proactive and answering questions before the Wireless PRO is released. This really helps me start out of the gate running when I get the Wireless PRO. More manufacturers should create videos like this for their products. Thank you, RODE.
THANK YOU! I want to start a small RUclips Channel with a friend. (Interviewing, Podcasting, Reports, Vlogging) We don't have the Budget or space to store Big Wireless Microphone systems. So i searched for weeks. But never found what i needed. Now THIS is perfect! It's everything we wanted + more + it's affordable for everyone. I said it already but will say it again. Thank You Rode, you guys are AMAZING!!
Have had Rode Wireless Pro for two days now. Love it. two comments so far: 1, Wish we could have the options to assign file names on each TX, instead of just repeat REC00001,2,3...every time. 2, It is not easy to pull out a unit, either the surface is too slippery, or need to apply force on buttons on the side.
This all looks pretty good. Few misses here and there such as the jamming of other timecode systems, but also, the fact that the clip of the wireless go should have been made of metal so that you can use a magnet to attach it without having to ad the metal plate to it. It's so frustrating when you wanna use the Interview Go attachment, that it doesn't fit in the mount without having to take off the metal piece. Also whats the story with the built in mic of the go's. They always used to be way too sensitive. Has that been addressed on the Rode wireless Pro?
Appreciate the Q&A session. Mine is already pre-ordered and I'm looking forward to receiving my unit. If the team is looking for video ideas I would suggest demoing the 32-bit float in action. I'm glad all those accessories are included and a fine cleaning cloth too.
Hey, that sounds really great, almost all wishes come true. I would have had one more wish, exchangeable batteries, but that is probably due to the ultra-compact design. When I had a long day of shooting, I simply had a second set of wireless go II in order to be able to exchange it quickly when the batteries are running low. A big compliment to your developers and to the whole team at rode for your good innovative work! You listened to the wishes of the users and implemented them magnificently.
Every pro would rather have a larger unit than no replaceable batteries. The standard wireless packs are twice/thrice the size so rode could still keep theirs smaller than competition while allowing professional workflow.
Hey there luckylook! Thanks for the kind words about the development and designs of this new product. To your feedback about batteries and recharging, features like these can be a bit of a balancing act, for sure. But we still really appreciate feedback like this- we're always looking into ways to make our products more flexible and reliable. Will pass it onto the team!
I’d love for an OFX plug-in for resolve for example, so instead of having to go through the Rode Central app to retrieve audio files, they can be read and imported into the timeline
Love this video, thanks for going over detailed (and somewhat esoteric) questions! I know it doesn't support this at launch, but I'd love to see a ""Timecode Mode 6" that outputs only the timecode on the right channel and the headset mic on the left channel. In combination with the right cable, it would allow a VideoMic to act as a "headset mic" and have that recorded, along with timecode, to the camera via the stereo headphone out channels, while still keeping the Wireless PRO recordings via their internal backup recording, resulting in "3 channel audio" for one camera!
Will Rode ever come out with a four-channel or higher wireless mic system? That would be great for cases where you have multiple people all involved in a conversation, especially if you have a 3 or 4 cam setup. If you could generate timecode from such a system and jam it into the cameras at the beginning of a long podcast, for example, and jam the timecode into a RodeCaster Pro 2, then you could adjust levels on the fly in that instead and feed the audio in that way while the cameras just record video - and you could use it as a multicam switcher as well for livestreams. Just curious from a production standpoint, because it would make setting up a run-and-gun podcast or one-to-many interview SO much easier. All you'd need, basically, is a laptop, the RodeCaster (or some future version of it), and that wireless mic system. If you combined all the best elements of the Wireless Pro, the Streamer X, the Rodecaster Pro 2, and Rode Central into a single, seamlessly integrated package capable of video switching and four or more audio channels and sold it for $2000-2500, it would be an absolute game-changer. There is a big untapped prosumer market for serious content creation at a small/medium business level for equipment like this between $1000 and $3000 that has not been cracked yet.
Thanks for the update. Disappointed that you cannot jam the receiver from other timecode systems. That’s kinda removes the word “pro” in the timecode instance of the product. The rest seems really good. Look forward to testing. I love supporting Rode as Australian company.
You are right, this is not a pro timecode system, but I guess you can use the RODE to Jamsync to your other timecode systems, but as yet we do not know the accuracy of the RODE clock against other systems.
This makes me care less about this product. I use timecode often between cameras. As I can’t link to other master timecode devices. Kind of a dealbreaker, but I guess I’m not the target audience for this. Deity Theos is where I have to go
This was a great session. I have WGo2. The new pro looks great especially with the Full Kit. You know if there is no full kit with the product, the new users will get confused for a while and will take time to get happy with the product. Good move❤
After taxes and import its a little much I think. In Germany, for example, it's currently listed for around 570€ which definetely doesn't seem right. But yes, for around 400€ it would be incredible and I'd ditch my regular recorder for this as I usually don't need more than two audio tracks (well, four if I also could the one of my camera). Edit: 530€, actually. Still that's too steep for me.
Just keeping this price point in perspective: Tentacle sync wireless lavs run $350 each. Zoom field recorders are $230 each This is two recorders and a timecode generator for $399. There is no comparison to the value of this system. If you think it’s steep, you probably don’t need these features and should go with wireless go
Absolutely fantastic work on this video. Truly awesome job on answering important questions for the customers. Also I want to point out that Rode has an amazing customer service. The warranty on their products are beyond fair. I’m definitely investing in this new wireless system.
I can't wait to get my hands on this and test the accuracy of the internal timecode clock in the RX and TX units. Drift occurs not just in the cameras but in any device without an accurate timecode clock. If you have an answer for this, what is the drift frame drop over the course of 24 Hours. This is typically less than 1 frame with any major timecode generator and is also promoted as a headlining feature. Since Rode has never mentioned the drift variance within their own clock, it makes me question its accuracy. I don't want to trash the concept with the Wireless Pro but I really want people to be properly educated on pro features like Timecode. This "drift" concern you're mentioning will cause many upsets in post for majority of the customers who are looking into purchasing the Wireless Pro. This frustration can also cause them to not believe in a legit timecode workflow. TLDR: I think you should advertise this not as a timecode feature or generator at all. I think it should be advertised as a way to effortlessly sync the 32 bit recordings to the users A CAM that has the RX module plugged in.
Thanks for answering my questions (multiple ADCs for genuine 32 bit float/wide dynamic range and, sadly, no the receiver can be jammed from another TC source.)
These look awesome and I am looking forward to receiving my pre-order. Is there an icon on the receiver's screen that indicates if the transmitter is using the built-in mic or if it has a lav plugged in?
Wow. I am speecless. All this sounds simply insane. While I am waiting for mine to arrive, one question: if I plug the receiver into a 32-bit recorder (like my SoundDevices MixPre3 II), can I record in 32-bit? Or is that feat just reserved for the internal recording on the transceivers? Absolutely brilliant job, Rode, bravo! 👏
Hey there- it's great to hear you're excited about the Wireless PRO! In the setup you describe, your recordings would technically be in 32-bit, but the added dynamic range that 32-bit float offers wouldn't be present in the recordings on your MixPre. That's becuase the audio from the reciever has been converted to 24-bit before the reciever outputs it. The exceptional dynamic range that 32-bit float audio offers would be found only on the recordings on your transmitter in this case.
So amazing... especially at under $400. I paid $200 for a single 32 bit float lav recorder that runs off an alkaline battery. To get TWO 32 bit float recorders that are also WIRELESS and recharable, plus TWO high quality mics and all those accessories is mind blowing.
I have (2) Wireless Pro Systems. Two things they should add are these. #1- A way to to Jam Sync Timecode from an external device or at the very least, a way to Sync 2 or more receivers to each other. #2 - A Timecode Mode where Left channel outputs Transmitter 1, Right channel outputs Transmitter 2, and the USB can output or input Timecode. This would make these units infinitely better. I would hope these can be achieved via firmware.
I have multiple Rode products (mics, wireless Go 2, RCP 2, accessories), and it's only thr second time ever that Rode has got the pricing spon on (not more, not less) for their product. The first time was with the Podmic, and the Wireless Pro is the other one. Good Job Rode 👏 👍. Please add the ability to receive timecode in the next version of the wireless pro.
Question: (I know they don’t sell Tx and Rx separately but let’s assume they do) if you had one Tx and two Rx, could you run a two-camera setup this way? Meaning, can two different receivers communicate with one transmitter? This is a very common scenario when interviewing one person at a time. Thanks for whoever answers this question.
Could you give us a non-marketing breakdown of gain assist? Does it work like a proper limiter/maximizer, i.e. it pushes quiet signals up to the set output gain? Or is it more like the dreaded AGC of old, where we can expect loudness fluctuations when activated?
GainAssist is quite different from AGC, and is designed to deliver optimised audio without the level pumping and background noise jumps associated with AGC. It uses a combination of compression and gain uplift, applied to the signal using a proprietary algorithm. There are two modes. In Auto mode the system will do a bit more compression with less gain movements, to deliver a very even result. In Dynamic mode, it uses less compression to preserve more of the signal dynamics, combined with more aggressive gain adjustments. This preserves more of the dynamics of the signal, but may deliver a less even result. I hope that helps!
Dear @Rode - 3 easy requests to put you at the top: 1) Firmware: Tascam DR-10L Pro records to the same file every 20 seconds in case something happens while recording - please integrate that into the on board recording 2) Firmware: Zoom F3 is the smallest mainstream recorder I know of that gives options for audio quality all the way up to max: Sample Rate: 192 kHz / Bit Depth: 32 Bit / Bit Rate: 12,288 kb/s 3) Additional Product: Quickly fill out the ecosystem by making a small wireless TC device that can be mounted to additional cameras that don't natively support TC (Sony A7S III, etc) & will sync with all of these (ie: like the Deity TC-1, Atomos UltraSync BLUE & ONE, Tentacle Sync E mkII, etc). You guys should have launched that with this, but too late for that.
Hey Richard, thanks for the feedback here. Products like the Wireless PRO are the result of the feedback from the community, so it certainly helps! I'll pass this onto the team.
Hopefully this is better than the Rode Wireless ME as I’ve just had a TX fail and also just had to send the Streamer X back due to feedback issues in audio and sync issues using it with the Sony A7iv via Ecamm Live.
I love your products!! and I just updated my rode wireless II to the Rode wireles pro, but I have two questions: -I would like to know if we can have "noise cancellation" in any update? -Will they launch the "RODE Invisilav Discreet Lavalier Mounting System" accessory? Thanks for your reply 😉
Hey there, thanks for getting in touch with us. With regards to those two ideas, we don't have plans for them currently, but we'll pass those suggestions onto the team.
Wow I am realy impressed!!! Keep up the good job! I am planning to pruchase 3 sets of them and I preordered 2 sets already. Already I have 2 sets of GOII's, but the timecode hassel kept me from equiping all of my cameras with those. My question regarding timecode would a be possible to sync muliple PRO recievers as network of recievers. Then this would be THE answer to multicam situations. If this would be possible, I will be the happiest Indy filmmaker a live and I will use them in my next feature film of which we are currently in pre-production.
Awesome value for money, it sounds like a great system. You mentioned a 3.5mm cable to connect to cameras, will BNC timecode cables be made available for those of us with bigger cinema cameras?
This is amazing news! Very thoughtful improvements over the GO II that I currently own. This is definitely worth upgrading to. One question: Is it possible to connect the transmitter into an audio mixer to receive sound directly from the mixer?
This product seems promising, i wish there may be two variants, one with these all accessories for the new users and one with only the wireless pro with the case (wireless pro lite) . I have all accessories e.g cables, lavallière mics etc bought with wireless go 2 and do not want to spend money again. This will reduce the price and will not heavy on the pockets for those who is upgrading from wireless go2.
Can you describe the nature of the headphone monitoring and whether it will do direct input monitoring from a DAW or APP such as Filmic or Luma Fusion etc. Or is it only designed to monitor the immediate input of the mics themselves?
My first ever Rode device and only do YT as a hobby so overkill but at $399 being such a great deal with everything I just had to buy, especially when compared to go ii.
Please sell replacement lock rings for the mics. Already lost 1 since they don't stay on, and almost lost the other but luckily found it. Also, new foam windshields for the lavs fall off incredibly easily. Lost one of those too, could you please sell 5 packs or something? They just simply will get lost if filming run and fun style.
Hey there - thanks for the feedback about the locking rings and foam windshields we ship with the Wireless PRO kit. We'd recommend you direct questions about spare parts to our support team here as they be able to help: rode.com/en/support/contact
Rode-- is there a slightly cheaper option to buy this without the lav mics? I'd be using professional lavs, so have no use for the stock mics. In order for me to use this product with my XLR cameras/mixers, it looks like I'll need to buy an additional SC11 to split the signal and 2x VXLR Pros.. so it'd be nice to have a cheaper option without the lavs to offset the extra cost.
Only thing, Rode - if your TX-XLR plug-on transmitter isn't compatible with Wireless PRO, please make a compatible one that can switch between mic level, mic +48V phantom power, and line level, the latter especially for connecting to line level sources at events.
I wish you offered 2 more options: 1. Wireless PRO kit without lavaliers. 2. A compact 32-bit recorder with timecode based on Wireless PRO technologies, i.e. a box ideally with 2-channel mic input (2 Neutriks, and/or one 3.5 TRS stereo), 32-bit internal recording, and mic (with timecode) and headphone out, for on-camera 32-bit recording.
Would like to see a video on 32-bit float tech and a video demonstration of the time code how to with detailed instruction. Props for a great system I’ll be investing for sure!
We have a few videos on 32 bit float, so check out these: How 32 bit float works: ruclips.net/video/05fzb5nj4SA/видео.htmlsi=IH9CUQKNp26ijVs2 32 bit float demo (with NT1 5th Gen) ruclips.net/video/5pY6EW4Hx2g/видео.htmlsi=ZnlFj8AAN6S_Jpjd WIreless PRO 32 bit float info: ruclips.net/video/1ovgsNU2sAA/видео.htmlsi=G0WBsBGw3VVhv-AV And stay tuned for more information and videos on using timecode!
And, as Rode already have the USB mic such as rode NT1 USB, will it be a possibility that the wireless pro will support USB mic? I just can see the future a USB NT5 pair with something like this to be an Ultra light kit.
My Question is about Power requirements: It is indicated in your website that the power requirements for wireless Go pro via USB C is 5V & 0.4 A.. So kindly tell me what does 0.4 A means. Mostly all chargers today are of fast charging that have up to 2A or more, so such chargers are good for wireless go pro or we have to find any charger that is of 0.4 A, or it is minimum requirement. And what is maximum requirements...I don't want my Rode gets destroyed... kindly recommend any particular charger or make one of ur charger that may be suitable for all rode mics
Is there a way to sync two of these systems together? I’ll give you an example. I shot golf videos and there are usually four players and two cameras. In this instance we need four mics. If we put WGP on each player and the receivers on the cameras, can they by synced together?
I was thinking the same thing. But then I thought, if it's all recorded natively (on each transmitter to gain access to 32 bit float) then all you have to have is a single timecode generator for all 4 devices (jam sync). Does that make sense?
You can't directly sync two sets, as he says they can't take jam syncs, just give. But you could run Time Of Day on both receivers instead. If you sync both receivers with Røde Central frequently - after power on and every 4 hours thereafter - their internal clocks should keep drift in check. That depends on hos precise the Røde Central sync is for Time of Day though. EDIT: Note, I don't work for Røde. I just read up on this just now on their website for my own use.
Hi Kustoo - you cannot directly sync two Wireless PRO sets together, as the Wireless PRO cannot sync to incoming timecode. However, they do use time of day timecode, and this is taken from the computer or phone it is connected to when opening RODE Central. This means if you connect both sets to RODE Central (eg on your phone) just before starting your shoot, the timecode on the two units will be very close to each other. This should assist with aligning all your clips on your edit timeline, but note that the two Wireless GO sets will not be frame accurate, so you will still need to do some manual adjustment to get a perfect sync. I hope that helps.
One quick question. Is it possible to use the 3.5 to XLR adapter with this new Wireless Pro II? For example, you own the Sony FX6 and would like to bring audio through the XLR ports.
One last question, ha. Can you change the timecode mode directly from the receiver unit rather than having to plug it into a computer? My preferred workflow would be to jam sync my camera directly into the dedicated timecode port (or more cameras for that matter), and then once it is jammed, change the mode so that I can plug the receiver into the 3.5mm input and record audio internally in the camera as well.
The timecode settings are only available in RODE Central, but you can use RODE Central on a mobile device, making it much easier to change settings when on set simply by connected your phone to the USB port on the Wireless PRO.
Love that I can jam sync my Zoom M4 using the Rode Wireless Pro and then connect the RWP’s RX into my camera’s mic input using timecode setting 1. Perfect because my camera doesn’t have a dedicated timecode port and I send camera video over HDMI to a Ninja 5+ recorder. Now all of my audio has timecode! Thank you, Rode!!
One question… if using multiple RWP sets, will the timecode between different sets of RWP be the same if using Real Time when turning timecode on using the Rode app?
Hey Matt! Thanks for stopping by today. So awesome to hear you've been able to fit the Wireless GO's timecode into your setup. To your question- the Wireless PRO cannot accept an incoming timecode to sync to, so you can't connect them together. However, the unit's time-of-day timecode is updated when connecting the units to RØDE Central. So if you connect two WiPRO systems to the RØDE Central (desktop or phone), they won't be 100% syncronised, but they will be accurate with each other to within about a second. You'll still need to manually sync your files, but they will roughly be in the right place on your timeline.
You can use it to record audio with an iPad, and you can also use the RØDE Central app to change the device's settings, but just note that unlike the desktop RØDE Central app, you can't use the iOS app to transfer files from the Wireless PRO at this time.
This is awesome! I was having an issue where I was getting an interference buzzing noise when mounting directly to the top of my cameras hot shoe. This was the GO II, but it did still happen with a few other brands versions I tested. I did manage to fix it buy either mounting it more to the side or using ferrite rings on the cable. I know this is more a camera issue, but another brand I use released a revision to their wireless system that fixed this to me.
So just to be sure I have this correct, there is NO way to sync two receivers to the same timecode? For example, shooting with two FX3's and recording 4 people, it's not possible to link those two Wireless PRO receivers to jam the same timecode into both cameras?
Amazing product! One more question: do we require a specific software to offload files from the recorders? And is there a time or size limit on those files?
The files are recorded as WAV files, and can be directly downloaded from the receivers when connected to your computer. The RODE Wireless PRO breaks the recordings up into 1 hour blocks, so each file represents one hour of audio. Files are contiguous, so are sample accurate across the breaks. I hope that helps!
Unfortunately there’s lots of specs you still haven’t published - what voltage does the Tx supply the lav mic? What is the exact latency? What is the sample rate and bit depth of the actual transmission? What line level standard does the Rx output?
I’m trying to get the best sound on a stage about 150 feet away (i generally do small theater jobs) from a Sony a7s DSLR. Can’t figure out if the quality of the sound would be better just throwing one of these little wireless transmitters on the stage floor or putting the videomic + shotgun on the dlsr…or 3rd option which is using both by connecting the shotgun to wireless pro near theater speakers. Thanks by the way.
Hey @peterdirection4608, good question! It really depends on what kind of performance you're filming, but you can certainly plug any VideoMic that works with a DSLR into a Wireless PRO transmitter, just the same as you would plug in a lavalier mic. Something to be aware of would be that the onboard mic on the Wireless PRO transmitter is omnidirectional, meaning that if you have it on the stage, it will still pick up a lot of noise from the audience. If you use your units in split mode, you could have both mics capturing audio (one using the onboard mic and one using your VideoMic, and then choose whichever audio track you like more in postproduction.
@@rodemic thank you so much for the excellent reply. I just didn’t know if I should pick up the rode videomic. I wasn’t sure if you get the full quality of the shotgun if it’s plugged into the wireless transmitter. But could point on the Omni directional! I will try pointing the shotgun to the speakers directly.
So a possible multicam workflow with these would be to jam sync OUT of the Rode INTO my first master deity TC-1 unit and that unit would carry the rode's timecode to all my TC-1's. Sounds very doable. I wonder how often I'd need to jam sync the TC-1's to the Rode (if at all) after that with this workflow
Do you have a video for the best settings to use with the iPhone 13 Pro? To be honest, I'm overwhelmed with the settings. How much DB do I set the microphones to with the automatic, do I use the filters or not. I love that there are presets specifically for cameras. Will this also be available for the iPhone?
Hey there! Great questions, let's break those down a bit. - Best settings to use with the iPhone 13 Pro? There isn't an iPhone profile because iPhone users can adjust the volume of the incoming signal using RØDE Central and they can also monitor the audio through their headphones while they work. So ultimately, the best iPhone settings will be those that give you the best results as you use the device. - How much DB do I set the microphones to with the automatic? Not sure exactly what you're saying here. If you're using GainAssist you won't need to set the gain as that's the point of GainAssist. Feel free to read the user guide for more help on this topic!
Hey Ryan, good stuff here as usual, as a run-gun operator I would really love to be able to monitor my Wireless Pro with a pair of NTH headphones....wirelessly ! .. next release!
Any frequency conflicts by using two sets at the same time? I'd like to record 4 channels, or six, into my Zoom F6. Will multiple Wireless Pro sets in the same space interfere with each other? Have you done testing? Thanks!
Thanks for sharing the U.S. price. What is the price for a content creator here in Australia, I would be keen to get my hands on some to test and review them as I did with the RCP2? Thanks.
Do I have to use the Rode computer app to pull my files from the transmitters? I want to be able to hook a transmitter to my IPad Pro and pull the files directly like I would with a USB drive. The app just adds another step to the workflow that I don’t need.
If I use the camera as an action camera, can I connect it directly to the main body with the USB C cable included with DJI Action 4? Just like the DJI wireless microphone system.
I have to say based on what I’ve seen I will definitely be purchasing a set of these. One question though, when I record from my Go 2 version to a 32 bit float recorder do I still get the high dynamic range of 32 bit or does the Go 2 version mean it’s only 24 bit? In other words does the wireless transmitter in the GO2 compress the signal?
I don't work for RODE but the way this works is the transmitters capture the analogue audio from the mic and then convert it into a digital signal before either storing it and/or transmitting it to the receiver. For the GO 2 this is done in 24 bit. In your setup you then plug the receiver into your 32bit recorder. It converts the 24bit digital signal it received back into an analogue signal that your recorder then processes. So, as much as you'll have a 32bit file, the initial conversion from analogue was done at 24bits so you'll only have 24bits of effective range in your recorder at this point.
Just about to buy dji mic even thou i have wireless go 2 .. but looks like you made some good upgrades for the pro .. one question will you update the clip so it not plastic better if it was metal so wouldn’t have to use additional add on ..that the only down side i see … from this new model
Thanks for your FAQs Answered. Mine is a suggestion to consider in your next firmware update to possibly let all recorded audio data automatically feed themselves into a folder which will indicate date and time of the recording for proper file organization like in Zoom. Secondly, the inbuild battery will surely die with time, so what is the way forward when it finally dies in the next 3 or more years ahead?
We're glad you appreciated the video @steveobaba1! You're not the only one requesting better file management and naming options for files with the Wireless PRO. We hear our community loud and clear on this issue- and it's certainly something we're looking into. To your question about battery, this is something the included Wireless PRO charge case should help out with, as keeping your units full when they aren't being used can help their batteries stay more powerful for longer. For more tips on managing battery life, you can check out our guide here: help.rode.com/hc/en-us/articles/6997251537807-Why-is-the-Wireless-unit-battery-life-not-reaching-6-7-hours-
A company actually answering PPL questions .... I appreciate it ...
Never saw a brand that dedicated to their users. Long time user here (2012?) and I just want to thank you for your dedication to create awesome tools for content creators filmakers…
You change the industry
Please release a cable for S1H and GH6 timecode 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Also can you Timecode sync 2 WGoPro Kit ?
For all the features and accessories you get this is a really great deal! Only small downside for me: As much as I love Rode products the size of the Logos on the devices sometimes gets a bit out of hand. But great product!
$399 is their magic price for their products. They did the same thing with the Film maker kit years ago in 2017.
To do that again with two lavs with 32 Bit float is an incredible feat. This is the upgrade to the original Film Maker Kit that we’ve been looking for for years. I will be purchasing.
Great job Rode team!
Preordered mine on the 22nd from B&H. Can't wait to see that shipping email in my inbox!
Thank you for being proactive and answering questions before the Wireless PRO is released. This really helps me start out of the gate running when I get the Wireless PRO. More manufacturers should create videos like this for their products. Thank you, RODE.
Agreed... this is probably one of the best product launches I've ever seen.
Love it. two comments so far:
1, Wish we could have the options to assign file names on each TX, instead of just repeat REC00001,2,3...every time.
2, It is not easy to pull out a unit, either the surface is too slippery, or need to apply force on buttons on the side.
Are the two lavs the same as the Wireless Lavalier Go, or something different?
This all looks pretty good. Few misses here and there such as the jamming of other timecode systems, but also, the fact that the clip of the wireless go should have been made of metal so that you can use a magnet to attach it without having to ad the metal plate to it. It's so frustrating when you wanna use the Interview Go attachment, that it doesn't fit in the mount without having to take off the metal piece. Also whats the story with the built in mic of the go's. They always used to be way too sensitive. Has that been addressed on the Rode wireless Pro?
Love this transparency and answering all these great questions - thanks Rode!
Appreciate the Q&A session. Mine is already pre-ordered and I'm looking forward to receiving my unit. If the team is looking for video ideas I would suggest demoing the 32-bit float in action. I'm glad all those accessories are included and a fine cleaning cloth too.
Is there a way to jam sync multiple wireless pros?
Hey, that sounds really great, almost all wishes come true. I would have had one more wish, exchangeable batteries, but that is probably due to the ultra-compact design. When I had a long day of shooting, I simply had a second set of wireless go II in order to be able to exchange it quickly when the batteries are running low. A big compliment to your developers and to the whole team at rode for your good innovative work! You listened to the wishes of the users and implemented them magnificently.
A bigger unit with 10 or 12 hour batt life would have been better.
I can't wait for the Pro units. I have loved using three sets of wireless Go II's. Thank you Rode.
In the next iteration of the Rode wireless pro series, please add the ability to receive external timecode.
Is the new Wrirelss Pro compatible with the RODE Interview GO Handheld Mic Adapter?
Is there possibility to use wireless headphones for monitoring and if not, could it be something that could be enabled with future firmware updates?
@@alvinburrell 100% there is a work around but pity it’s not like a pro system that can either a master or a slave depending on what is required.
Yes, it is not a real-timecode product.
This makes me care less about this product. I use timecode often between cameras. As I can’t link to other master timecode devices. Kind of a dealbreaker, but I guess I’m not the target audience for this. Deity Theos is where I have to go
Yeah calling this a timecode device is misleading for sure. it's a completely closed system.
This was a great session.
I have WGo2.
The new pro looks great especially with the Full Kit.
You know if there is no full kit with the product, the new users will get confused for a while and will take time to get happy with the product.
Good move❤
It’s insane that this is only 399$ for everything it comes with! I’m so glad I pre ordered this
My thoughts too. I also preordered on the 22nd from B&H.
it is indeed!
Will get a set as soon as possible. Had no idea it came with the slim lav mics, which is like $100 each.
@@justinuriahphotosame here!!! Can’t wait for it to start shipping!!!!
@@DennisSchmitzexactly. It’s a no brainer
399 is an amazing value holy moly
After taxes and import its a little much I think. In Germany, for example, it's currently listed for around 570€ which definetely doesn't seem right. But yes, for around 400€ it would be incredible and I'd ditch my regular recorder for this as I usually don't need more than two audio tracks (well, four if I also could the one of my camera).
Edit: 530€, actually. Still that's too steep for me.
$250 -$299 would be perfect
Just keeping this price point in perspective:
Tentacle sync wireless lavs run $350 each. Zoom field recorders are $230 each
This is two recorders and a timecode generator for $399.
There is no comparison to the value of this system. If you think it’s steep, you probably don’t need these features and should go with wireless go
If you say so... I'm assuming if they had said $600 you would have said the same?
I think they should have been around $250-$300. tbh
@@kiddyaceyup, that's what I just said.
Can you sync multiple rode wireless pro sets? And will there be accessories to seperate the channels of the reciever output and adapt to xlr?
Thanks, sounds fantastic. Although I already own 2 Rode Lavs. Guess I’ll pass them down to my wife and her channel!
C'mon Karl! 🥺 Your wife deserves the latest and greatest! You should get her a Wireless PRO as well. ✅
Thanks for answering my questions (multiple ADCs for genuine 32 bit float/wide dynamic range and, sadly, no the receiver can be jammed from another TC source.)
No worries Tom, if you've got any further questions please let us know 🤠
These look awesome and I am looking forward to receiving my pre-order. Is there an icon on the receiver's screen that indicates if the transmitter is using the built-in mic or if it has a lav plugged in?
Does the Rode Wireless Pro have any water resistance features? If so, to what extent?
@@rodemic That’s what I was expecting. Oh well, better record internally then. Thanks for the answer!
So amazing... especially at under $400. I paid $200 for a single 32 bit float lav recorder that runs off an alkaline battery. To get TWO 32 bit float recorders that are also WIRELESS and recharable, plus TWO high quality mics and all those accessories is mind blowing.
Thanks for the love @AskJoe! 🥰
Thanks @luissinibaldi1937 - we'll send your feedback to the team.
Thank you for listening to the community rode!
What's the SPL and frequency response range on those mics? They can still clip despite being 32 bit float.
This
Just got mine and I absolutely love it. Great job guys. 🎉🎉🎉
@@rodemicThanks, very helpful!
Dear @Rode - 3 easy requests to put you at the top:
1) Firmware: Tascam DR-10L Pro records to the same file every 20 seconds in case something happens while recording - please integrate that into the on board recording
2) Firmware: Zoom F3 is the smallest mainstream recorder I know of that gives options for audio quality all the way up to max: Sample Rate: 192 kHz / Bit Depth: 32 Bit / Bit Rate: 12,288 kb/s
3) Additional Product: Quickly fill out the ecosystem by making a small wireless TC device that can be mounted to additional cameras that don't natively support TC (Sony A7S III, etc) & will sync with all of these (ie: like the Deity TC-1, Atomos UltraSync BLUE & ONE, Tentacle Sync E mkII, etc).
I love your products!! and I just updated my rode wireless II to the Rode wireles pro, but I have two questions:
-I would like to know if we can have "noise cancellation" in any update?
-Will they launch the "RODE Invisilav Discreet Lavalier Mounting System" accessory?
Thanks for your reply 😉
Hey there, thanks for getting in touch with us. With regards to those two ideas, we don't have plans for them currently, but we'll pass those suggestions onto the team.
Not cheap, but cannot challenge the value, in my opinion. I feel it is a fair price. Great video! Take my
Money!
Great video! Would you be able to Access de audio files directly without the rode central app? Thanks
i'd like to know how many systems can be use at the same time before having to worry about interference (regardless of onboard recording).
According to their website, yes.
Yes please @rodemic I've already bought plenty of lavs and accessories too, I just need the bodies and charging case!
I’ll be picking this up for the rodecaster pro II!
Can you describe the nature of the headphone monitoring and whether it will do direct input monitoring from a DAW or APP such as Filmic or Luma Fusion etc. Or is it only designed to monitor the immediate input of the mics themselves?
Was very much considering the DJI version of this kit but now I've gotta do some research 😀
No mention of the audio recordings - do we still have to use the app to pull them off the Tx units, or are they now straightforward WAV files?
Can I copy the internal recording from the transmitter directly using usb cable without any apps as it is usb drive?
Can rechargeable batteries be replaced?
Is this 32bit float recording any different than on the previous Rode Wireless Go?
I‘m wondering the same thing
Only thing, Rode - if your TX-XLR plug-on transmitter isn't compatible with Wireless PRO, please make a compatible one that can switch between mic level, mic +48V phantom power, and line level, the latter especially for connecting to line level sources at events.
Thanks for your feedback, we'll definitely make note of this for our development team!
How does the auto turning off & on of the receiver with the camera work?
I wish you offered 2 more options:
Thanks for the suggestion! We'll be sure to pass this along to our development team for their awareness 🙌
Would like to see a video on 32-bit float tech and a video demonstration of the time code how to with detailed instruction. Props for a great system I’ll be investing for sure!

And, as Rode already have the USB mic such as rode NT1 USB, will it be a possibility that the wireless pro will support USB mic? I just can see the future a USB NT5 pair with something like this to be an Ultra light kit.
Definitely will be getting them when they become available!
Do the mics/transmitters include a local mute switch? What about remote mute triggered from the receiver?
i get my Rode wireless pro yesterday. I´m so happy
Can I take two audio feeds form the receiver and input the signals into a camera that has two balanced XLR audio inputs or via a hotshoe mount? Thanks
Hey there, you can use a charger with higher amperage, and the device will only pull the power that it needs 👍
@rodemic So if I hook it up to the same computer that my ATEM mini pro iso is conected to, I should get the same timecode as my cameras?
I just wish there was an option with more standard lavs that worked better under clothes.
When comes to india?????
Now: brandstore.rode.com/products/wireless-pro
@@rodemic That's what I figured. Keep up the great work over there, y'all!!
I definitely want a part 2 of the q and a
This is awesome!
What is your camera?
@@remektekmedia6641 Sony FX3
Unfortunately there’s lots of specs you still haven’t published -
what voltage does the Tx supply the lav mic?
Awesome video, thanks!
Hey Ryan, good stuff here as usual, as a run-gun operator I would really love to be able to monitor my Wireless Pro with a pair of NTH headphones....wirelessly ! .. next release!
Why is it so much more expensive in Europe?
Any frequency conflicts by using two sets at the same time? I'd like to record 4 channels, or six, into my Zoom F6. Will multiple Wireless Pro sets in the same space interfere with each other? Have you done testing? Thanks!
Thanks for sharing the U.S. price. What is the price for a content creator here in Australia, I would be keen to get my hands on some to test and review them as I did with the RCP2? Thanks.
If I buy two or more sets of rode wireless pro, can timecode be synced between all different sets?
Hey there, thanks for the feedback about the clip. Will pass it onto the team!
How well does the Rode Pro time code work with the MixPre series, or the Zoom series of portable mixer/recorders
You guys are next lvl!!!! 😱
Thanks Luiz! 👾
Had to pre order. Can't wait for 32bit float!
I just hope and pray that this doesn't give RF interference on the Sony A7S3
(For Me) Excellent Video. And an excellent package.
