Hello Simon. Can I record audio into the 2 transmitters as well as into my camera? When I hit record on the 2 transmitters, the camera is not capturing the audio. Please advise. GREAT VIDEO!
Amazing tutorial, Simon, thank you very much. I've been using Rode Wireless GO (the first version) for a few years and loved it. I skipped v2 and ME editions and all of sudden won PRO in RODE-held survey/contest, which was a true blessing for me. However, when I attempted to start using it, it was a bit intimidating (and daunting) at first. So many options I did not have before! But your tutorial helped me understand all the nooks and crannies of Wireless PRO. Clear and concise, no BS. You deserve far more views on this one! Thank you once again!
If we have the REC button set to "always", does that mean that gain assist won't be used ever because it's always recording directly to the receiver? I think I might have gotten confused with this😓
Hi there i have a question if anyone could help I would be grateful. I tried so many things and nothing worked out.. 22:20 This was my problem. I'm recording internally to the transmiter (TX) and when i adjust the mic gain nothing changes because I'm recording internally (I dint't know and was very frustrated why it wasn't working, thanks for the info in the video!).. I'm using this mic to record my voice the main video is recorded by my GoPro Hero Black7. The problem is that when i export the audio on the editing software its way to low -25db.. How can I solve this problem? Can I not use the internal recording and get a normal level like at least -6 db? Thanks in advance!
I love this deep dive. Any chance you could over how to both TX and RX to record 3 different people? I understand it’s possible, but can’t find much information or what settings 🙏
Locate the 3.5mm TRRS input jack on the Rode Wireless Pro receiver. Plug your TRRS microphone or adapted TRS microphone into this jack. Configure the Receiver On the receiver, press the right navigation button to cycle through to the Gain Mode screen. Press the left navigation button to select "Headset" mode. This enables the receiver to recognize the input from the third microphone. Press and hold both the left and right navigation buttons simultaneously to enter the routing menu. "Merged" mode: All three audio sources (two transmitters and the third mic) are combined into a single mono track. "Split" mode: Transmitters are on one channel, and the third mic (RX Mic) is on the other channel.
hello Simon, can you recommend simplest way to mount receiver on iPhone directly while shooting handheld or what is simplest/lightweight accessory to be applied for this mount ?
I could really use your advice! You said you were an audio tech for 20 years, maybe you'd have some insight on an issue I'm researching. So these Rode mics have the capsule on the front of the lav rather than the top. What challenges does this pose when concealing, taping, or hiding mics on actors? I just got them and haven't used them yet. But I'm worried that sound quality will be compromised if I cover the capsule with mole skin tape, clothing or accidentally mount it facing the talent. I've only seen them mounted in their clips on lapels and collars.
I do not understand why does nobody talk about the quiet audio recording from the 32 bit float recording when exported to an editing software and how to fix it. .
32 bit audio is for editing. It's a bit like LOG video, it's not to be used "as is". Either export normalised as 24-bit audio, or normalise it in your editing software.
Hi Simon, just did a search for Rhode Caster Wireless Pro and found your channel. Excellent information. But I have a question, how can you use the Rhode Caster Wireless Pro with the Elgato Prompter & Facecam Pro 4k 60fps? Thanks in advance, Leonard
If I wanted to use manual gain, the receiver allows you to go negative or positive on the db but the transmitters only allow you to go from 0 to 30db. How do I know what the neutral value is? I tried 0 and that was too low and 30 was too high. I’ve read that Rode has a different scale for measuring decibels and I just want to know where 0db is in the RX range. Or am I completely wrong here?
I heard a noticeable noise with the lavalier mic at the end. Hoping that this was your mess up and not the quality I should expect from my new purchase.
Purchased the Rode Wireless Pro, turned it on & the audio levels are low. It's usually fine when I play it back on my Iphone 14 pro max but, when I try to use Davinci Resolve to play it back, it's so low it's comical. I shoot primarily on my Iphone 14 pro max using the Filmic Pro app(not planning on using mirrorless cams anytime soon)but, when monitoring audio, I can barely get the audio bar in Filmic to yellow, let alone red. It usually maxes out around green no matter how loud I'm talking. I've downloaded the Rode Capture & Reporter to increase the TXs gains, didn't help. What exactly could I be missing here. Firmware on all devices are up to date. I've tried gain assist on or manual (30db/max) & when I record, it's a bit louder but, audio still extremely low in in my DResolve timeline. Secondly, how do I increase the gain if I try recording internally using that 32-bit float, what program should I use to up the gains, Audacity? one of the Rode apps or central or Resolve's audio fairlight? which one should I use & what exactly should I adjust to get the levels up? & lastly, do you know how to tweak EQ in this mic in DR or Audacity? Ooh! that's a lot, hope someone has the answers to these questions.
@@Cruising-and-Craps Plug the RX & TXs in, turn up the gains to +30db after changing it to manual gains for both TXs then, when you're done recording choose "custom" export and under that you'll 32bit float and choose 21Luf under noise level, and guaranteed you will be fine.

What I know about them, is that they are too damn expensive! And I don't want to be forced into buying their lav mics as part of some kit. I much prefer to save that $180. I have their GOII's and like them okay, but I measured their frequency response (video is on my channel if you want to see it) and it's heavily boosted in the upper mid range. That does go away though if you use a lav mic. I'm curious if they still do that with their "pro" version of the same thing. Cheers 🍻
If anyone here has a suggested DB recording level on the TX manual mic gain ( turned off auto assist + Dynamic ) I would appreciate it. Rode auto sets to 26db. Thanks.
Dear Simon, I discovered your interesting RUclips channel. I am looking for the right cooperation partners for my tech client. The cooperation will be well paid. In return you should upload a video with this product, where you explain the features. Are you interested? I am looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards

Is it possible to rename transmitter, so I could know which transmitter I would download audio file from?
Great video as always you are the pro Simon

Can you transmit to the receiver and record inside the transmitters at the same time as a backup?
Yes you can.
