Thanks so much for hosting RFK on the podcast. It’s a bold move to give ‘outliers’ a voice. I remember with stark clarity watching the commercial that RFK refers to showing the American Indian with a tear rolling down his cheek after witnessing the trash being tossed from a car window. It had me become a life-long trash picker-upper. I’ve even recruited my husband ; ) I will join your maximalist podcast in order to hear more from this interview with RFK. Reviewing comments on this episode is disappointing in that people are essentially ignoring all of RFK’s discussion essentially because of one opinion they do not agree with. I guarantee that there are plenty of things you do not agree with in every single human you encounter. Listening to all sides of an issue is what expands our understanding. I used to have my son argue the opposing side of an issue he felt passionate about. It caused him to go deeper, increase his knowledge and understanding. A side benefit was that he allowed people their opinions without the need to make them wrong.

endocrine disruptors need a whole episode. I insist on addressing the topic. They have a lot to do with consumerism. The effects are shown in subsequent generation. Your mother is poisoned by a chemical plant pollution as a child, but it is you who will have a higher percent of risk of dying from a cancer, who will be suffer from infertility and other reproductive diseases. From cosmetics and hygiene products to home furnishing textiles, clothing items to food and beverages containers, medical supplies to industrial chemicals... They're identifed since 1920's. We know what they do since then. They're molecules that have a very similar appareance to hormones and our body mistakes them. For instance, the estrogenous disruptors are mistaken by our body, even as fetus, and you develop cancer of testicules in little boys or infertility or genitalia malformation, and reproductive system cancer in women. Please, choose any scientist who study and publish about endocrine disruption and bring them to your podcast.

For expert guests may I strongly suggest Dr. Jeanne Conry or Dr Linda Giudice of UCSF and FIGO as well as Dr. Tracy Woodruf of UCSF. They have done substantial work with Endocrine disrupting chemicals.

I would love Bobby to talk about how harmful things like dryer sheets, being hormone disrupters especially to children wearing and sleeping with items with these insidious toxic chemicals on them. I don 't understand why more people are no privy to the toxicity of cancer causing chemicals and why are they allowed to be used by corporations. Someone needs to do an expose'.

I didn't know about the controversy that surrounded him until now (in my mind all the Kennedy's are one person so I'm sorry RFK that I really don't know who you are outside your family name), but I think he provided a thoughtful conversation that didn't actually seem crazy (unlike what his critics seem to think). The idea that people do not think about the long term consequences of new products baffles me. Every little thing we make comes at a cost, what that cost is may be unknown to us but it is still there. As someone who lead a relatively healthy childhood in the 80s and 90s and developed chronic health problems in my late 20s, I have to question WHY did they occur. And why do the doctors only want to prescribe pills to "fix" my problems (fix really only being a bandaid). I would love to see more guests on the show that promote self care and healthy living.

Here is the deal. An electric weedeater is not strong enough to edge my property line. I have the luxury of having the low lying area in the neighborhood so I get alot of water and alot of water grass. A gas powered eater, and a Gass powered mower for that matter, are strong enough. I tried the electric and it can't cut it. So I will take the punishment for everyone I guess. Jesus being crushed for the poor thinking of others, as always. Punish the companies and they let it roll down hill to me.
Now, if I don't handle that grass, I am going to cause pests to come in and all the animals that eat the pests. That will hurt everyone. Hmmm...

So we are just going to ignore the fact of toxification from previous generations and how they continue to pollute ?
Not only that we can teach our children how not to pollute . The problem isn't the children its the: consumerism, throw away culture instead of make do and mend . In Victorian England it was pretty packed and dirty but everything was reused. There was a guy who would take away the rags to be reused, there was a metal scraper, a food scrapper that fed the chickens and pigs. Sustainable farming it the answer over factory farming.

I'm a science-studies PhD. In my judgment, RFKJ is very far from being anti-science, and his views deserve more serious consideration than they're getting. The top question people should be asking is whether he's right to say that industry capture is widespread. If it is, then everything else he says is more plausible for just that reason.
