I buy tissue papers from local stores, and it seems the paper link I provided has been unavailable. If I get any good source of papers, I will let you know..
Fellow Indian origami artist here. Great channel by the way, really like your designs and subscribesd. I've tried making double tissue with CMC. It doesn't stick the two pieces very well for me and comes out during folding. I just end up using single treated tissue for my models. Any tips?
There are two potential explanations for the issue you're experiencing: 1) It's possible that the CMC paste you prepared was not sufficiently thick. To address this, try increasing the thickness of the paste for better results. 2) Another possibility is that your CMC paste was contaminated. It's important to always use fresh CMC paste and store it in an airtight container to prevent contamination. Consider using CMC or MC from a different brand and ensure it is of high quality. Achieving a thick slurry consistency is crucial when working with CMC or MC, as they are widely regarded as excellent materials for paper making.
Yes, I have to make double tissue papers every time while making models. Sadly there is no good papers available in India. But soon we are trying resolve this problem.
Thanks for the quick reply ! I see a lot of articles online mention Kraft paper, is the same Kraft paper which we get after searching "Kraft paper" on amazon ? ( was not able to post links, so not able to link exact one ) Are those kind of papers suitable for intermediate to complex folds, or that is something else ?
If you search kraft papers in India, those are actually papers used in Packaging. Not good for folding. Otherwise the original kraft paper (more accurately Alios kraft paper)is very durable paper and good for complex models.
Those kind of papers then I guess are not currently available in India, and if we want something premade, that would only be possible through websites like origami shop ?
I didn't buy exactly from this link...but you will get an idea..you still need to browse! www.walmart.com/ip/Lineco-University-Products-Methyl-Cellulose-Adhesive-1-5-oz/166344850
MC is Methylcellulose and CMC is Carboxymethylcellulose, for the usecase in paper treatment both behave identical. So both MC and CMC can be used as alternative.
Thanks for sharing. I always wondered how people used MC. I might get some myself to coat paper used for tessellations.
Amazing! Thank you for sharing this tutorial. And as always well demonstrated 👍
Thanks for sharing! And making it look easy :)
Nice video. This is really helpful. I think I should use MC

Thanks for the explanation. I find it difficult to cut the paper into exact square. Please guide.
Hey, thank you for the video 👍
Is there a way to make the side facing down the floor not so shiny and glossy?
If you have a large cutting mat (a1 size), it might reduce the glossy texture.
