    How close did you fly the M3T to the power lines?
    What voltage did they carry?

    • @Skynetdronesystems
      @Skynetdronesystems  10 месяцев назад +1

      I was on average 100 ft above the lines that were carrying 115kV 🔺

      @@Skynetdronesystemsand what about side distance?

    • @Skynetdronesystems
      @Skynetdronesystems  9 месяцев назад +3

      In this case I couldn’t get much access at all to the sides of the towers because of the trees. But I try to keep 100 ft away from the wires just to avoid any potential hazards. The SOP for operating around high voltage wires is 100 ft away. (I’ve seen some recommendations of 250 ft posted) You shouldn’t have any issues operating at that distance above or to the sides of the wires. However I’ve read instances where pilots flying under the wires have had issues with the GPS signal to the aircraft. 🔺

      @@Skynetdronesystems well...I'll may have to get as close as 65 ft. to the power lines. 🤷‍♂️

      You’ll be 100% good to go at that distance. I’ve seen inspection videos where the UAV was inside of 25 ft of wires. I WOULDN’T recommend flying THAT close to the lines! But to put your mind at ease about the safety of your upcoming flight mission, you’ll be fine. 🔺

      Contact your local power and utility companies. Explain to whoever you reach that you’d like to talk to someone about “Pylon” and wire maintenance. If they don’t know who that is, ask to speak to a facilities manager. Then tell him the same thing. 🔺
