Hi Sam,
I found you a couple of days ago and set it up like you said in one of your previous videos, same structure as shown here. Honestly, you’re my Superman-our ROAS increased from 1.8 to 5.1 within 3 days. Additionally, our conversion rate went up from 1.5% to 3.5% and then to 4%. I have even increased our prices, and AOV jumped up from €68 net to €97 net.
Thanks so much, man! I watched like 1000 videos and I was going crazy. But this helped me so much! I have been doing e-commerce for several years and have a high understanding of conversion rate optimization and process optimization. But because of our bad performance in the last few months, I was losing trust in myself and tried too many things out, burning tons of money. It was like a vicious cycle.
Best greetings from Germany!!
This is what I’m taking about! Good work keep scaling.
Same here. I literally doubled my ROAS to 2.5 to 5 using Sam's knowledge, the top 1 for me right now!
How you know when shut down ads or adset ?
@marlongebert3813 Hi, i just got a question regarding the ads or broad packs, is it just any creatives you have regardless of what marketing angle you have in your ad? just a mix of creatives?
Which video if you don't mind...
Thank you for the value, my brand really needs this.
Thanks Sam! Amazing video! My brand hit $2k/day. Looking to scale to $5k/day with this
Boom! Congrats that’s awesome big step.
Sam, this is incredible. Worked better then everything else so far. If ads in the interest adset work extremly good, what to do? I can't take them into asc
Hi Sam, thanks for the value you gave in the video!
I have a question about the ASC campaign, how often do you scale it / increase budget and by how much?
happy to help. scale as often as you feel comfortable. if you are hitting your goal, knock it up every few days by 10-20%
"Systems and structure to organize your business". Love it Sam. Thanks for sharing
My pleasure!
The value in here is just scary man
5 mins in and so much value! Love it!

Hi Sam, thanks for this informative and helpful video. Please help me by answering my following queries.
Are we adding the winning ads to interest first then to adv+ campaign, if yes how many days shall we wait before we copy to asc+? Or are we simply copying winning ads to both interest and adv+ campaigns together?
lastly, After 30 days when we would be trying the new interest, are we copying the winning creative to both new and old interest ad sets?
Thanks so much in advance :)
copy both at the same time, dont overthink it. copy into both new and old but really you shouldnt have dozens of interests, just 2-3
I do the exact same thing but I add the new batch into the same adset without creating a new one.. it's working great lol
hi i just have a question regarding the ads, are u just putting in any creatives, any marketing angle, just mix it in an adset? or you separate them by marketing angles or concepts?
@@EwolRam14344 i mix it
Hi, I have a question. if we have like 20 ad creatives, do you add all 20 ad creatives at the same time in the beginning or we start adding 6 creatives first, and then add new creatives slowly per day?
Thanks for the amazing video Sam! So even if the top spenders are way below your target, you still keep them on in the testing campaign and keep adding new packs, hoping they will spend more and get better performance? Also, do you turn off the bottom creatives if they barely get any spend after a week or two?
You got it. High spenders stay on unless it’s completely out of wack. Low spend and low roas can be paused, but make sure they run for a few weeks anyway
Hi Sam, Your video is so insightful. I have a £100/day budget what ratio do i give the prospection CBO and the ASC. Also will both campaigns running simultaneously not lead to both competing against each other in the auction?
If we create a new creative, should we add more budget on CBO? Example my initial CBO start from 100?
Nope
But if not add the CBO budget, the ads set more and more, will it make new pack not spent?
@@humanlife1989 the best ads will spend and the lower performing ads will not spend. that is the entire point of this strategy
bro such a valuable video. way too many videos on fb ads have too much fluff
appreciate you!
Thanks for the sauce brodie, just a few questions.
Do you turn off adsets with new creatives that doesn't perform in the CBO prospecting campaign?
Also, when implementing the interest adset & continuously duplicating creatives from the test adsets into the interest adset, wouldn't that reset the learning algoritm?
Same thing goes for with the ASC+ Scale campaign when you continuously duplicate creatives from the prospecting campaign.
Yes we turn off ad sets and ads that don’t work but be careful. Low spend and low performance only, never shut off high spenders.
Duplicate ads don’t get paused so this doesn’t interfere.
Yes asc gets back into learning but this doesn’t take away from the existing learnings at the ad level
Great video! So how would you scale the budget of the ASC campaign without making it go back to the learning phase?
10-20% increments normally. But increasing budget will not be as bad of a re learning as interfering with new creatives
Hi Sam would love to see a video on google ad campaign as well, this is a very value packed video thnks😊
Appreciate it!
Great video. However, do you recommend we use specific product ads or just general brand/company ads?
Both
Great approach that makes total sense. Do you turn off the ads in the Broad Packs after copying them to the ASC and interest ad sets?
No definitely not, these are likely the 10% of ads that are creating 80% of the revenue in your account. Just double them and don’t worry if there’s overlap
But isn’t it just a matter of time until these top 10% ads do worse and worse? You kill / turn off them? Or you are still feeding the CBO with new and new Packs??
@@marjeh100 just as described, always feed the CBO with new packs, when the top 10% fatigue they will slow down in spend and be replaced by the algo
Amazing, Sam!
Hi, do you have some tips or a video for a car dealership. We are in the starting phase and we want to create ads campaigns for car owners that want to sell their vehicles. Would appreciate any tips!
By the way, keep up the good work!
Hi, thank you very much for your video. Since my native language is not English, I would like to ask if your video steps are: start with CBO, test the winner, and then start ASC to deliver the winner's material?
Hope to get your reply, thank you!
Super simple and makes alot of sense. You said in the beginning to start with full budget on the CBO campaign. How do I gradually change this so I go to 80/20 ACS/CBO?
Overtime you will see better performance from ASC. Whenever you see this you can scale up. It’s not about shifting budgets, you’re not changing anything or move one budget to the other but the ASC grows over time.
@SamPiliero Thanks. So when I have a few winning ads. I copy them over to the ASC and scale when it starts to get optimized?
This is awesome. I haven't seemed to have great luck with Website & Shop -- what are your thoughts on if we select Website only for the ASC campaign?
Absolutely incredible and valuable info! Thank you so much! One question, what's your formula for the Purchase ROAS metric?
And one more question - How long do you wait before graduating winning ad sets from the prospecting campaign to ACB?
ROAS: revenue / spend
14 days at minimum
First of all, thank you so much for the knowledge and video this is amazing! What do you think of implementing strategies like these for very low budgets (30-50$/day)? Currently we're in a position where cashflow is just not there but we are looking to push some ads, but with this low of a budget we are unsure if CBO systems like these still actually function as you describe it?
ASC only.
Can we increase the CBO or ASC adspend? (if yes by how much % daily)
How would you go about a new account with Products that are very niche? And do you scale the interests just in the testing campaign? Thanks for the content looking to transfer over to this strat.
Same way. Let FB find your audience and understand it may take a bit longer if you are super niche.
@@SamPilieroBro you‘re fast, thanks for the response🙏 Yeah maybe I‘m just limited, is meta that good that they can find my audience even tho i go fully broad?
hey i want to learn google ads from you....also the fb advanced techniques. never seen anyone breaking down like you
Amazing video! This was super helpful, do you recommend increasing the budget of the CBO as you get more creative packs?
If it’s beating your kpi target yes, otherwise scale the asc campaign.
@@SamPiliero you're the man, thanks g
Do you have a video for recommendations when it comes to the engaged/existing audience settings in ASC’s?
great video! Can you please advice on how to resolve Facebook Tracking/Attribution problems?
Just optimize based on the click data. Don’t stress the rest
It's good that you've mentioned that we need to set Audience Segments and Engaged Audience , but how do we do that ?
In your advertiser settings
Also, how do you handle creatives that do well initially, but then are beat-out by newer ads (both in the Prospecting & ASC)?
Hi Sam, great video! But one question, in the prospecting CBO the underperforming creative can we turn them off? or you leave all ON even if those increase your overall CPA? thanks
yes. low spend AND low roas can be turned off. high spend and mid roas keep on.
Other media buyers say that testing in CBO doesn't give you a full picture of every creative performance, because the money is going to allocate in certain pieces and not distribute on every creative. I don't know what to think, the opinions are divided
If you were betting on a race, would you bet the same amount on every person?
Hey! Do you do 50/50 of your daily budget in each campaign?
Hey Sam,.
Great value mate thanks! - Once the ads get graduated into the smart shopping campaign, do we turn them off from there original campaign?
Never
This is one of the most helpful videos ive watched on running ads on meta. I set it up like yours and have actually started seeing improvements in the quality of customer that im getting and my conversion rate has actually boosted alot so far. Im now trying to duplicate my ads from the testing campaign into my scaling campaign but its not letting me create a new ad set within that campaign to duplicate them to. Any ideas why that could be?
Also hoping this isnt a dumb question but i have to ask. When you duplicate the existing ad into the new campaign, do you pause it within the old campaign? Or let it keep running in both? Thankyou for your help in advance!
Keep the old ad active.
Is it okay for the 6 ads per ad set to be a mixed ad set of images, videos, carousels, etc.?
Since videos tend to increase engagement, it seems like there will be more distribution to videos, but what do you think?
Love the video! Keen to know if you always run highest volume or if you use cost caps? I’ve watched a few of your videos and a few times you mention using them. Also in some videos you speak about excluding purchasers but not in this one. Any reason why?
Further to this, you use advantage+ audience here and not original audience but again in other recent videos you do. What is the reasoning behind this?
This really depends but most of the time we try to graduate accounts to cost caps once they spend a certain amount.
@@SamPiliero thanks for the reply! Is this based on campaign spend or account spend? What about excluding 180/all purchasers. Do you generally do this? Also across your videos you speak of 7dc 1dv attribution and then sometimes just 7dc so it’s a little unclear. Can you explain a little further please?
@@powerleteclo cost caps is an account wide decision, it is all of nothing. Exclude purchasers from prospecting but nowhere else. 7dc 1dv always and optimize using 7dc. its a bit complicated but my opinion on this has shifted after a few months of testing.
NO COST CAP YOU IDOT. YOU RILL BURN TRHU YOUR MONEY.
Nice Sam. Do you pause creatives in Prospecting CBO when you promote a winning creative to the ASC Scale?
No, never ever pause what works
Would you consider creating an awareness campaign for an exciting audience as a marketing campaign or only a sales campaign?
Never
Smart!
I currently run ads for an e-commerce company. The products are very location specific. This means you need to have gone to this place to be interested in buying it. (I also don't have everything location in the world)
Therfore, I use catalog sales and let FB decide. This has been profitable. However, I feel very limited as far as how much I am reaching.
How would you apply this method to my store?
Yes. Testing ads should still be done
Very interesting how much % your budgets max out at a time in the advantage plus campaign?
Don’t worry about the percentage, overtime you’ll naturally scale your advantage campaign
Hi Sam, can we use ASC campaign if the goal is leads?
Yeah it’s just a bit different and I focus purely on eComm
Hi Sam and thanks for sharing, I'm going to implement your method in my strategy.
One question about CBO campaigns, do you recommend to scale it or to create a new one if I want to increase the budget?
Scale
@@SamPiliero 🔥
How would you setup campaign for B2B ads?
Hi Sam, thank you for this. Very helpful.
When graduating the top 10% to ASC why do you duplicate them? Arent you losing the social proof doing this? Isn't it more beneficial to copy each one manually with ad id to bring the social proof to the ASC campaign?
ASC campaigns when duplicated hold all of the social proof. if you are not seeing this then you can use the post ID. The main issue with post ID is that a variety of creative formats have different post IDs now
@@SamPiliero ok thanks for that!
So, if the bottom creatives r supposed to spend 5%, how do we set it up inside the campaign as its a CBO?
they will naturally become 5%, bottom performers will not get spend
Thank you so much for this, Sam! Would you suggest this for a completely new store as well? Especially for a low budget like 20-30 USD daily. in that case how would it be split between these two campaigns? or would it just be the CBO at this budget?
Absolutely
@@SamPiliero and would you split budget between two initially? Or just do one cbo with 20-30 usd daily for starters?
@@ayyazahmad1055he answered this previously on a comment. Use ASC only.
When you add new creatives in ASC, is it under the same ad set or a new one plus should it be only after 2 weeks of time?
all in the same campaign
In other video you said that if you're just starting you can go directly with ASC and test creatives, you confirm that now ?
Also, even when just starting or having not so much data, is it ok to test with no interest ?
Yes 100%
whats the lowest budget per day that you can do this with?
Full breakdown of what to do based on your current spend here - ruclips.net/video/Cweh_g3Tuwc/видео.htmlsi=ICapyzhUA2ZLRu_Z
Hey Sam i would like to ask from you when we are adding new creatving for test in the existing campaign don't you think it is working on a CBO level it will hurt the optimization
because we are editing the campaign every week to test new creatives...
Same thing when we add new winning creatives in the ASC it will will also go for re-learning again...
I am kinf of confused here and need your guidance...
Because i have heard from my fb ada gurus when you want to edit just duplicate the existing campaign then add new creatives or make changes..
Please help me in this to understand this concept i will be thankful to you..
there are campaign learnings, ad set learnings and ad learnings. you are only interrupting ad set for a one time change that will have minimal impact. dont worry about what "gurus" are saying, most of this is nonsense.
Do you graduate ads that have bad ROAS, but good spend?
Hey, I have a product running for a month, I have now tested a CBO with 400€ spend with 3x adsets with flexible ADs, since 4 days the ads are already online and they run really bad, inside are partly winner ads and new ones, another CBO has constant 3-5 roas even partly, is 400€ at the beginning just too much? I can't explain it,
Hi Sam, the ASC+ works well with more then 10 creatives inside, isn'it? So, is it profitable to add only 1/2 creatives from the CBO prospecting?
Add 10% of your cbo prosecting that’s it
at what point do you conclude that a certain pack of ads are not performing ? what point of spend and Visits , do I need to cut the ads , and start with new pack of creatives ,
for some reason Abo do much better with me than CBO , 25$ CPA for abo while 60 for CBO , for a 95$ product.
Let fb decide for you, if it’s not getting spend then it’s getting not going to work.
If you add new Broad-pack to the cbo is it running the optimization of the campaign ?
Hi Sam, I don't think I have the money right now to be able to fund the CBO campaign. I've seen some of your comment replies, and it seems with around 40-50 dollars a day, I should just do an ASC campaign. This means that some bad creatives will be in there as well, will facebook be able to give the spend to the better creatives? Thanks
Just run ASC. Let Facebook decide what creatives are bad and good.
Does this apply if you use Flexible ads? Like per flexible ad group will be one concept, will it find wich concept works best?
No. Never use flexible
I should not turn off creatives that doesnt work in Cbo?
Only very low spenders without conversions
When you duplicate the best-performing ad from the prospecting CBO to the ASC campaign, do you turn off that ad in the CBO campaign?
He answered this somewhere else. "Never"
When testing, how long do you let the ads run before you make decision to turn them off or not? I actually did not hear you speak on this, do you not turn anything off thats not performing?
A few weeks usually. If it doesn’t work it won’t spend so don’t stress it
Hey Sam,
I'm creating Lead Form campaigns. There isn't an option to do Advantage+ Shopping Campaign... What do I do here?
Prospecting CBO with 1 single ad set 100% brosd
does it change for affiliates structure?
I have one question, on cbo testing creatives campaign if some adset or creatives the performance IS bad should i turn off or this Will be hurt the performance of entire campaign ?
Only turn off ads with low spend and low conversions. Do not turn off ads with high spend even if they’re not hitting your goal, they are likely helping in places you can’t see
@@SamPilieroPlease can you explain this a little bit? In last 4-5 days my whole account went from 40 order per day to 10. And the budget is whole spend / burned. There are ads that spend 40 - 60usd in last 4-5 days and have zero or 1 conversions (but during previous weeks these ads generated order for 5-7 usd - very good for me). Also there are ads with reach 200. I think there ads aren’t bad, they just didn’t get a chance. It looks like an ads fatigue for me.
Any advice about this behaviour?
will this work for high ticket products?
Generally yes but this is an e-commerce specific strategy
Also can this be applied in a brand new ad account with very minimal data?
Yes
@@SamPiliero thanks so much, ready to try this strategy. Btw, i have this running CBO campaign, which i know already gathered some data, do u think its best to start this strategy on the same campaign and i just have to create a new broad adset, because in one of your videos you said that creating a mew campaign resets everything. So i am concerned about the data gathered by the existing campaign that has a different strategy.
@@SamPiliero how about on the ad level, those different packs, is it really just a mix of anything, regardless of the marketing angle, regardless of the concept, regardless of the ad copy, does it have to be the same ad copies and headlines but different creatives? or is really just random?
Using this knowledge to grow and have enough cashflow to hire you in the future to manage all this shit lol
Let’s be real, that’s why we do this!
Does it matter if you’re doing a lead gen campaign?
Not at all
@@SamPiliero Thank you for replying mate!
In a previous video you mentioned that if your budget is less than $100 per day, you should only use ASC.
ruclips.net/video/Cweh_g3Tuwc/видео.htmlsi=MAknpfezjaOf12Ii
If your product has a clearly defined age target (such as lead generation), ASC will mean your ads will be displayed to users of ages outside the target range.
For products like the ones mentioned above and with a daily budget of less than $100, do you think it's a good idea to test with this CBO structure?
Please let us know your thoughts.
Yes if you have an age sensitive product then run CBO instead
