An instructional video on how to build a mini-nuc bee hive. This is part 3 of a 3 part series. Part 3 covers the mini-nuc bottom board and inner hive cover.
This video serie is excellent .. and it makes so much sense to have smaller spaces to give them a good start ... thank you ... and how do you keep your shop so clean and tidy ?? :):)
Any suggestions for starting and capturing a hive in Michigan? I'm not afraid of stinging insects, i was an exterminator years ago. I'm starting the woodworking this weekend. thanx, and great videos!!!
Have you changed to "separate" or independent inner covers for each side so u can leave others undisturbed when u just wanna open one up instead of all 4? Awesome build anyway , very nice
2 13/16 was what I've been looking for. Mine are always a little small and I have to jam the jars in. Sometimes the tip over and then I come back with a broken jar and an opening in the top of the hive. I've seen some beekeepers like to place a bucket over the jar and it's supposed to keep the jars from getting algae. Any idea if this works?
Hi Steve. What has happened to the Michigan Beekeepers website. The link given now takes you to Michigan State University and no plans in sight! Thanks again for the many excellent videos.
Hi Michael, I am no longer responsible or have any control of the Michigan Beekeepers website. However, I gather that they are having technical issues with the server. I do know that it is being worked on and I would expect the site to back up shortly. Keep checking back in. (This post was written on April 2 and 2:46pm EST). If you was specific plans, let me know and I can probably send you the pdf for it.

As for the tidiness of the shop... Most of the ti e it isn't and is a complete pit!
I wish variation of 8 instead of 4 parts could be done as well.

No, I still just use the small covers that I put on after I take off the inner cover. Thanks for the comment.
