It’s not unusual to hear a click or pop from your knee when working out, or during everyday tasks. And although this feeling isn’t necessarily painful, it’s reasonable to be curious or concerned as to why its happening and if the click is potentially dangerous or not.
In this video, A.J. explains why your knee clicks when you exercise (especially squatting) and how serious this is from a scientific perspective.

Yep. Pushing 30 and had this going on all my life. People SUCK at talking about their bodies.
Ya that's a smart mindset. Wait till the wheels fall off before you fix something.
I've had this since I was 15 or something, cool to finally hear how to figure it out over a decade later
Mine have been clicking for at least 25 years. I also had a large bone spur on my right knee. My sister (retired pharmacist) suggested taking magnesium. My bone spur actually shrank after taking it. The clicking comes and goes. There is no pain. At 65 and actively working in home improvement I can't complain too much.
The clicking always goes away when I work out right after I turn up the workout music.

Ok, so my knees have been clicking every time I go a little over 90 degrees when I squat and come back up. This has been happening for about three years now. Long story short, it seems my issue was my hamstring. I stretched my hamstring every day and now the issue seemed to went away! Thanks for making this video.

How immediately did you notice an improvement? I just did a pretty thorough number of hamstring, quad, and IT band stretches and I don’t think my chronic cracks sound any different, but it definitely felt like a tight stretch, especially on my hamstring. I'll try your recomendation then.
Strangely, last year when I really had strong (AF) legs by climbing 50m of stairs twice a day (or more) during work, I litteraly had no problem anymore. I could squat non-stop as fast as I can until failure without having to worry anymore. But I lost this strength today so it's not the case anymore, I really need to start training again.
i always imagined that this phenomena would give away any soldiers who sneak around lol
