It is probably the cost of building the cabin, maintaining it, marketing the experience, insurance, tax, tour guides, cleaners, signage, lighting, health and safety, building a path to get there, parking, security. All of that is a huge headache (especially if you are not a horror fan to begin with), and might not actually be worth it financially if the numbers you expect don't show up. Then one day somebody says they were attacked by a haunted tree and sues YOU for half a million dollars because it happened on your property.

the thing a lot of filmmakers don't realize is that each forest is its own character. if a new Evil Dead film was filmed in the original 1981 woods, it would add character to it. kinda like the last Blairwitch movie was just in some random forest, if it was in the original forest then it would have improved it. every forest is its own unique character and they shouldn't have "trees are trees" attitude.

Hard to believe that one of my favorite horror movies of all-time was filmed in the fall of 1979 (43 and a half years ago), 2 years after I was born and that seems ancient. My dad rented this movie from my local video store back in December 1983, when I was 6 years old. I rented Evil Dead II myself either in 1987 or early 1988 when I was 9 years old. This is so cool to see the filming location! I am in Myrtle Beach right now. I could drive to Morristown in no time at all.

We were both kids of about six years old at the time filming took place and we met in our teen years. As we watched the movie, she told me it was filmed near her house and she slipped away and watched some of the scenes being done. I basically told her that she was F.oS., because the movie labels didn't say anything about a Morristown TN filming location. I feel horrible.

One of my all time favorites. SO scary, and fun. This is amazing that you found it ! NO WAY, you have the Hellraiser 3 statue in your house.
I LOVE that your passion is cruising the USA for horror movie sights and you make a living doing it. It is a bucket list dream of mine, yet your turned your dream into reality. 27:06 you can see they cut back the overgrowth in about a 20 foot wide path to see the mountain range behind the. I thought it's been 42 years, so maybe it's just overgrown, but I think it's a little of both, but clearly there were spots where the foliage was cut back.

Something I also found cool about the evil dead series is at the very beginning of the movie they are driving through Middlesboro,KY to get down to the cabin and you see a sign of it but that is the home place of Lee Majors who plays Brock Williams Ash Williams father in Ash vs Evil Dead which is about 45 minutes away from the location in Morristown

I grew up in Kingsport, been an Evil Dead fan forever.
Over quarantine, my son and I were back in my hometown and took a day to drive over to Morristown to find the shed… or where the road is to it from the public street.
Looks like we need to make another road trip.
Also, came here from Slope’s Gameroom. 😘

I grabbed one brick from the fireplace in April 2013. It was way taller then. I live about 45 mins from this location. When I left, I asked you on Facebook if you'd done the Evil Desd location yet and you said no but you wanted to. It's good to see that you finally made it there. Great video as always

Fantastic tour of the property. I visited in 2003, when there was more chimney, less digging, and remnants of a real moonshine still, coils and all, scattered all over. The owners of the property were super nice, let us visit all day and even park at their house and hike down the dirt road to take pictures and video. I'd heard the land got bought and developed since-- glad to see it's still there! Your vids are, again, fantastic!
