Ibanez has some of the most versatile guitars and basses on Earth. I wish you guys could show more funk and jazz styles with these typs of guitars. I own a Jem and I play everything with that guitar when I have guitar gigs. Love my BTB's and Jem soon to be Jem's lol

I love the focused, HiFi, sparklyclean tone sounds you get on an Ibanez! I wonder if this is a coil tap/split position, or just a straight up humbucker..?
Cost. Stability doesn't really matter for a 2 piece body if its properly dried. Wood price is enormously changed with regards to plank width and thickness. A 1" thick 7" wide plank isnt just a "little bit more" than a 1" thick 6" wide plank; it can be SUBSTANTIALLY more expensive. Considering these are still ultimately a mid tier budget monster, its all about where they can save a few bucks and still provide a great guitar.

Judging how musical something is by how memorable it is is pretty silly. Eventually when you go more and more complex and mathy, it gets harder to remember, obviously. Everyone remembers stuff like Iron Man and Smoke on the water, and a huge reason why is because they're simple.

There is no coil tap, at least stock.
He has it split to two single coils. It doesn’t have a push-pull. It uses a 5-way selector switch.
