Thanks for another great video! You know I always comment on every video, so here is my 3 pieces of wisdom. 😂 1. Don’t let anyone change your mind. It definitely is a shelf of SHAME. Some just have more shame than others. (Points at you) 2. Ticket to Ride sucks. I don’t get the attraction. 3. PJs and board games go hand in hand! It’s like Christmas morning and PJs. You just don’t mess with what works. Have a great day!
Hi 👋 Really enjoying your videos! As a woman of similar age who is a good bit into the hobby, it’s great to see the games you enjoy and have in the collection. Thanks for bringing content regularly, know it must be a lot of work to keep them consistent. Like your honesty and personableness. Some ideas for future videos: - organising your games (when there’s less snow and exposure in your room of games) - solo games you enjoy - some board game challenges (like fitting your favourite games into one box) that people have done before - really interesting about your 3D printing, perhaps something on that? Look forward to more videos 😊
I love all of those ideas and it's so nice to hear about another fellow board gamer! I'll have to write all of those down and plan on doing some of them in the future, thank you so much!!
That muttering to self 'thisisgoingtobethemostcringevideoever" cracked me up so hard :'D I am not going to lie, I don't have great interest in 'my whole collection any% speedrun' as a format in itself and am much more looking forward to you going more in-depth on those games where you feel like sharing your insights and opinion. But then again, the way you do this is so hilarious and adorable that I cannot help being entertained. :) So bring on the other three parts of this series so I can check what collection overlaps there are. From this one it was only Libertalia Wings of Galecrest and Smallworld.
You’re getting a lot of positive feedback, and for good reason. Just discovered your stuff yesterday, checked out a couple different videos, and I’ve got to say, it’s such a cozy, comfortable channel. The background is warm and inviting, and your personality is so endearing and refreshing. I so enjoy the honesty-from the many shelf of entries to your musings on the video itself. While so far there’s not a ton of overlap between my taste and yours, I’ll be watching your future stuff because your whole presentation is consistently a joy.
Our 10 year olds favourite game of all time is Happy Little Dinosaurs. We have all the expansions. Fun game. Use the figures you get in Monopoly Animal Crossing to replace the crappy pawns you get in Stardew Valley TBG.
Shelf of Shame games! Totally get it, part of the fun in the hobby for me is imagining how fun it will be to play a game, and then inevitably running out of time to play them all :) Separately, my wife and I love playing Star Realms!
Very much enjoy your channel! For future videos definitely would love to see your mom in one maybe in one in which you each rank you favorite trick-takers lol and another idea is your favorite you've played on BGA so far. Spring is coming soon!
My wife and I hated Ticket to Ride when we played it years ago. But I picked up the new Legacy version because all of the bloggers were hyping it so high and I have to say we absolutely loved the game. It shot us to being in my wife’s Top 10 games of all time! You should give it a try.
It's a "Shelf Of Opportunity"!!! It's only a shame game if you bought it, played a copy, and then realized you don't like it and will play it again (in which case you need to sell or gift it to someone who the game was designed for, at which point it will no longer be a shame game as it will have found it's forever home and you will have made someone else happy).
Idk if you already do this but to help keep the boxes the right way up (like smallworld) have a monitor facing you that shows the camera's prospective. It's so hard not to keep the shelf of shame growing. Can't wait to see the rest.
Haha I actually do this with my camera, the problem is I can't see super well without my glasses so I had no idea it was flipped sideways until editing! :P :)
Just wanna say that I'm really enjoying your channel! I'd love to see some videos about strategy recommendations or (even better) you telling us some fun/peculiar stories of situations you faced while playing :) (Also, unrequested opinion, I would prefer that the opening title of your videos would be shorter (I'm afraid it could put some people off, but I might be wrong)). Love what you're doing, keep going!
Thanks so much for all of the advice, I'm so glad that you love my videos! You're not the first person to comment on the intro video, it's something I'm trying to figure out right now! :)
I'd be interested in a video - perhaps a bites video - where you compare and recommend dexterity games. I think the only one I've played is the party game Jenga - oh, and Twister. And a video focused on party games would be cool, too, though I can see the appeal of having a mix of genres in each bites video, so we viewers can find games that interest and surprise us, beyond our usual habits.
The Quest for El Dorado is a good game as its a deck builder with a racing element.............or maybe, a racing game with deck building.😉. Either way, its a game i can almost guarantee you'll enjoy. Not sure if you've mentioned any in other videos, but Tiny Epic Vikings is a great game with multi use cards, reaource management and area control. Packs a pretty nice punch for such a small game. I haven't played any of the other Tiny Epic games but there's a theme for just about anyone. Love your videos as you come across as a truly genuine person who's not concerned with having everything perfect. Keep it up!!
I haven't played Tiny Epic Vikings yet! I own TE quest and TE kingdoms but I have yet to play those as well. I'll add TE Vikings to my list! And thank you so much, that means a ton to me!
Wow, that Libertalia must be a new edition, my version has just a bunch of pirates on the cover and it was published by Marabunta, still by Paolo Mori however. Also awesome video, my collection is only at around 50 games but you are giving me some great ideas for more to add!
Yeah I think Stonemaier bought the rights and produced their newer copy in the last 5 years or so. It's a fantastic game and I love it so much! And thank you!
@AfterEvenfall Awesome! I think a cool idea for a video would be like a top 10 games to play with your parents or like people who are new to board games. The amount of times I've brought put a game and they see the rule book or amount of pieces and they all hiss like cats and scurry away is a lot.
@@ArcticHaven That is the best description of newer gamer's reactions that I've ever heard! I'm planning on doing a ten-games-for-non/early-gamers video at some point! I've got it on my calendar and I'm so glad it's something you'd like to see!
I would argue that almost nobody "knows how to play" Monopoly. Most people have been taught house rules by someone, and not the actual rules, which is why there is a perception that the game never ends, because the average player is not playing it correctly.
3 Feet of Snow? So you must be in the US MidWest (because the other choices are Newfoundland or Northern Nova Scotia, and you don't have the accent; NWT, Yukon, and Nunavut ... but I'm doubting they'd have reliable internet under 3 feet of snow; and Alaska, but board game distributors tend to not serve the non-continental US very well; and you are not using metric)! (In comparison, my high point was 82 cm, which is about 2'8".)
Haha I’m glad you spotted it! Inside the bag, we put tokens with the names of games we own but have never played. Then we draw them out one at a time to try to learn them!
I love how real you are and not too polished. It's easier to relate to you, especially as a mom.
That is so sweet of you to say, thank you!

Or running out of brain power/patience to read that rulebook and play the game, haha. Especially after a stressful work day.
@@ncreson For sure!

Q&A would be fun to watch!!
That's such a fun idea!
Railroad Ink you could knock out right away. I've ONLY played it solo, despite ask my partner to play half a dozen times lol. Still very fun solo.
I know, I need to just get on it! Maybe I'll try it this weekend!
Got to play happy little dinosaurs. It's a great game
I love Rummikub too.

You're probably right, and there are definitely some who still love it regardless! (my dad being one of them)
"Star Wars: Epic Duels" was reimplemented by "Unmatched" so if you want more You know what to do.
Haha I've been trying so hard to resist the pull of Unmatched, but this information might have just done me in!
i get it . ah board gamers life. your doing well, great job putting out videos .
Thank you! I'm so glad you're enjoying them!
What is shelf of shame?
It's a term for games you own but have not played yet. :)
You should do a video on Top 10 Popular Games that you did not like!
That is such a good idea!!
Such a lot of shame in a single video 😂

No big, big box games yet!
Soon! ;)
We know you have Castles Of Burgundy big box.
shrink wrapped in SEVEN years???!!
I know, it's so bad!!! It's been so long though that now I don't know if I ever want to take it off! ;)
@@AfterEvenfall yea...too late now to open it. might as well let future archaeologists find it still in shrink. 😄
I should frame it so it keeps it's quality ;)
Loved that video, including all those bits you left in, very funny. BUT you should shorten your intro imo
I'm glad you liked it! And thanks for the tip!
Where is *futility!: the actual game of living!* I hope you got that...
I don't! I've never heard of it, but now I'm going to have to look into it!! :)
Hello fellow hater of Ticket To Ride 😭😂
We should start a club ;)
hahaha..
Not good, wish list growing. Wife gonna hate me.
Thank you so much 💝😋
