    Wow, I have never watched any of your videos but this just popped up so I had to take a peek. Conseys list is scarily close to mine lol. I have a few more Stonmaier games on my list (particularly Scythe). I am on the wait as you are for the latest Cthulhu Wars. I encourage you to try glorantha as well. Very similar with a few other mechanice from Sandy thrown in, like Cthulhu wars meets Ankh. I have Arkham horror(and eldrich) as well as Death may die too. But great lists.

      @wiscodice_main  Год назад +1

      Thank you! We love alot of Stonemaier Games and titles like Tapestry and Scythe are definitely into the top 50. We cleared out our Arkham Horror (2nd Ed) stuff recently. Mansions of Madness 2e is currently getting painted up though. Of course, we really like the Arkham Horror card game and are waiting for our copy of Death May Die to arrive from CMON's latest Kickstarter for that game.

      Alot of games on that list that we need to play. Frosthaven, Cthulhu Death May Die, and Mage Knight are on our table of opportunity (or soon will be). Kingdomino is a blast. Xia and Vindication are both owned by friends we game with so sooner or later we'll see them on the table.
      Overall, solid list!!! Thanks for sharing.

      @wiscodice_main  Год назад

      Thanks for sharing! All very good games. A lot of people put Gaia over Terra Mystica. TI didn't make our cut largely due to the challenges of tabling it (play time). Gloomhaven we love as well, but was just outside both our 10s. On Mars is good too, but seems to just never get tabled.

    I have a huge collection, mostly from the 80's but with a few new games (including Sentinels), and honestly if I were to make a top x OF ALL TIME, the only modern(ish) game on it would be Cards Against Humanity. The Empire Builder ("crayon train") games would be on it, and perhaps the original SJG Illuminati and Nuke War.

      @wiscodice_main  Год назад +1

      We have On Mars, which is a good game. I find it hard to table due to having to relearn it and then extended teach. Since it's so hard to table it didn't make the list. We did back Inventions and looking forward to that. Vinhos is a good game too, but we don't own it.

    • @The-Eric-Cartman
      @The-Eric-Cartman Год назад +1

      @@wiscodice_main Thanks for the response. I was thinking of getting either Vinhos, the Gallerist, Kanban EV or Lisboa. I played Lisboa twice and enjoyed it, though it's a bit rules heavy so I'm not sure how well I'll be able to teach my wife, especially since English is not her first language and I've not learned her first or second spoken languages yet (Portuguese and Spanish). I did find a Portugues translation of the rules, but she's a visual learner and learns better by doing than reading instructions. The heaviest games I've been able to teach her so far are Gaia Project and Feast for Odin, and even those were bit of a beast to teach with our semi-language barrier, so not sure how Lisboa would fare.

    • @wiscodice_main
      @wiscodice_main  Год назад +1

      @@The-Eric-Cartman Certainly with any Lacerda game there's a pretty steep learning curve on top of the language barrier. He's got some great designs for games out there, but I think it's just as important if your wife is your primary opponent is to find games that you both mutually enjoy. When Suzanne and I play games we often find that games that are fast to set up and tear down are the games we pick up and play more often. Of course, everyone has different opinions on what games interest them, but don't be afraid to feel like you have to play the most complex games with your wife.

    • @The-Eric-Cartman
      @The-Eric-Cartman Год назад +1

      @@wiscodice_main Thanks! My wife and I enjoy heavy games because it makes us think more and forces us to communicate in a higher level, which gives us both a sense of satisfaction when we've conquered some of the more difficult to learn games. It's a little strange and hard to explain, lol. We both got a massive sense of satisfaction from learning Brass Birmingham together and learning strategies on our own. She started reading the Spanish rules for Kanban EV (couldn't find it in Portuguese surprisingly), and we're thinking of giving that one a go. I've been wanting to start collecting his games after playing On Mars solo.

    • @wiscodice_main
      @wiscodice_main  Год назад +1

      @@The-Eric-Cartman That's the really special part of this hobby, finding and having a great time with whatever games you choose to play. We don't have Brass Birmingham in our collection, but we do have Brass Lancanshire which we really like. I honestly don't know why that hasn't been to the table more because it is such a good game. Probably has to do with the over 700 titles in our collection right now. LOL.
      We would love to hear about what you think about Kanban EV. I really would like to give that game a try, but thematically I don't know if it excites me too much.

    • @wiscodice_main
      @wiscodice_main  Год назад

      Dune Imperium is pretty sweet, though like any IP game the more you are into the IP, the better the experience. Heat we really like, but I (Conesy) have a hard time recommending it due to the card quality.
      Splendor Duel was on our list to pick up, but after picking up Marvel Splendor I don't know that I need another Splendor game. It's just that good and plays great as a two player. Another Splendor like game that we like is Ahnk'or
      Progress is definitely lesser known and we haven't heard of it or played it. We'll keep an eye out for it. If you like tech tree type games, I would recommend one of my favorites - Legacy: Gears of Time if you can find a copy. Another one that is easier to get is Beyond the Sun.
