Finally a fellow iowaian making dust on RUclips. Hey from Waterloo
Glad to have you neighbor.
I think both have their places, the potential for adding lights or making small additional decorations is pretty awesome. If you have a family of woodworkers it would be a super cool idea to make one of these and have everyone make their own personal ornament for it!
I love that idea.
I love this, and ANY other x,as project!
I saw the star video first love these projects
I'm glad that you enjoyed the projects and I appreciate your support.
I must admit when I saw the thumbnail i was expecting a tabletop ornament. So much potential here. Without the base, in smaller homes this could be hung on the wall, or in an entry or high traffic area in a larger home, even outside. Great design. Thank you for sharing.
I'm glad it was a surprise. I appreciate the support
Unpainted
Love, love, love the plain tree
Thank you. I appreciate the support.
i saw the tree tutorial first and then the stars...i appreciate your teaching and demonstration styles...thank you!
I appreciate the feedback and the support. I'm trying to make easy to follow videos with safety tips to help newer woodworkers grow in their hobby.
Just made both the tree and the star! Everyone that sees them fall in love! Thanks for the excellent video!!!
That's great! I'm glad you enjoyed the project.
Really like these. I like both versions.
I am particularly fond of the painted star.
Hi there, beautiful tree, the red and white captures the sesson better...Take care...cheers...🍁 🍁
I am particularly proud of the painted star.
I love the way you did the diagonals!! Using the straight edge vs pre cutting the angles is genius! I love both trees!! Thanks for sharing Andy! Off to watch the star video!
I hope you like that one too. I like this method better because it's more forgiving.
Love both to be honest. Really cool looking..😊
Thank you, I appreciate the support.
The tree video popped up first and I'm definitely going to be making this
You'll have to let me know how it turns out.
This tree video was seen first. I like the painted tree just a little bit more for the contrast. Going to the Star video now. Great video thanks.

I like both styles. Thanks for the video, I could do this!!

Great work
I saw this video before the star video and I like both trees, LoL. Raw clear protective finish for me, but the kids would prefer the painted tree
I do prefer more of the natural look.
Saw this video first then the star. Will be making one of these for my wife.
You'll have to let me know how she likes them.
Love the plain tree. Now to get my husband to build one! 🤞
This video came up so I am watching this one first. I like both but the painted one definitely more Christmas, although I am partial to the natural wood grain.

This is awesome, an great project for next weekend. I saw the star first.
You'll have to let me know how they go.
@@cedarriverwoodworking so far so good. I need to downsize the star for my trees.
@@Gozeto17 To do that use material that is less wide. so instead of a 3.5" width, you could use a 2" width. your measurement will change (the one that I call out as being 6"). just measure the already cut side and use that as your measurement to cut the first 36 degree angle.
@@cedarriverwoodworking yes sir.!! That's exactly what I was going to try. I did a scetch and found the dimensions change depending on the width of the work piece.
Just came across your videos. I love the trees ! Both of them, you can personalize your tree to the person on the receiving end. Video is easy to follow with use of basic tools ✔
Thank you. I appreciate the support.
I just found your channel. Nice tutorial. Painted for sure!
Glad to have you, and I appreciate the support.
Great job. I like both, maybe the painted slightly more.

Going to head over and watch the Star video next! And I prefer the natural looking tree. But they are both fantastic!
Thank you! I hope you enjoy both projects.
I'm excited to get started! My miter saw only goes to 45°, so the star will be a bit of a challenge😅
@@sheilafriesen3598 I do have a couple videos where you can use a saw that only goes to 45 degrees ruclips.net/video/K5YJha7W8VA/видео.htmlsi=bpxwuxB-czsSLtzD
Like the way you did that. I tend to like the natural wood look, but the painted one is nice also.
I lean more towards the natural look too, but I am particularly fond of the painted star.
the painted tree looks pretty good
I am particularly fond of the painted star.
I like the painted tree. You can see it a lot better if you put it outside. 🎄
I am quite fond of the painted star.
Watched the star first for no apparent reason. I might give both a try for next Christmas. I’m think a base out of 6” tube or a 6”-8” pipe would look cool.
Glad to have you here too. Some tube is an interesting twist on it.
@@cedarriverwoodworking thank you sir. I have a couple projects I have to do when able to do a little more. I have some 2x2x3/16 angle I need to build a ramp to my shed with, I have old treated 2x6 from my neighbors pool deck for the deck boards. After the gotta haves I’ll be trying some of your projects. Been great watching your videos.
@@billlawrence9594 Glad to have you and I appreciate the support.
I like them both ways, depending on the application. Great work
Thank you very much. I appreciate the support.
This was so simple and such a nice project...Thanks, I have those tools, what an awesome guide!
Glad it was helpful!
Another great video. Excellent pace and the right amount of detail
I appreciate the feedback. I was worried that the video was going to be too long.
great looking tree
Thank you.
Fellow Cedar Rapidian here. Looks great. I used one of your prior tree videos to make some trees for our flower boxes.
Nice to see you here. I'm amazed at the reach of these videos, but I'm even more amazed when I see someone from my home town. You'll have to send me some pictures of the trees you made.
Been waiting for this one. Awesome stuff. Gonna build one later today. Thanks buddy.
I like both styles. Love your video! very clear and simple to follow along. watched it the first time to see how it all goes. Now for the star video.
Thank you I appreciate the support.
I like both trees.
Thank you.
Thanks
Love from Oz
Thank you. I really appreciate all of your support.
THANKS Andy for the great idea. I have been selling them for 120 and have been told I an selling them to cheap.
It's a great profit for us. I was offered $250 for my first one and we settled at $350 for two. I'm glad that you're able to make a little bit off of selling them.
I’m not sure which one I like more. I’m building this tomorrow night with my daughter’s stepmom. I’m going to attach lights too! :-)
That sounds like a perfect family project.
@@cedarriverwoodworkingjust completed our trees tonight. So so fun! I need to do some sanding. But it’s super cool!
Saw the tree 1st. These are beautiful. I love the stained tree. Very beautiful. I think I'd love to add lights to it. ❤❤❤
Thank you! 🤗
These are awesome. Gonna make for my girl
You'll have to let me know how she likes it!
I like them both
Thank you.
Watched star video first . Liked plain tree better . Great videos . Thanks
I tend to lean more towards natural as well.
Watched the tree first. Awesome build!!
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed.
I love the plain tree but both are great. Thanks for the video
I tend to lean more towards natural as well. I appreciate the support.
Nice job - I like the painted tree a little better than the unpainted.
I'm particularly fond of the painted star.
I like the red one, but like both.
I am particularly fond of the painted star.
Love the trees!! I would like to see one in natural and a forest green. Thanks for sharing the plan..
I think natural with the base layer of green would look great.
Love the Local 831 T-shirt. 👍👍
I have gotten a lot of positive feedback on the Union shirts. I try to wear them in the videos now. I'm thinking about Cedar River Woodworking shirs and making them look like my union shirts.
Like them both very much. Can’t wait to give this a try!!
I see you've been doing quite a bit of watching my videos! I really appreciate the support!
Thank you for making these a simple as possibles I’ve seen other videos with people trying to do the angles on every board and was wondering why they didn’t just cut off the extra after assembly to make it easier
That was the goal to make it as simple as possible.
Saw this first. I like the plain better, might think about staining the star for a wall mount version tho. I ended up adding two more feet, front and back, because it fell down after an hour outside with two feet. Just used more 2x4 than the plan called for.
4 feet is the best way to go. I'm sorry I didn't include that in the video.
I like both but prefer the plain. Great video. Gonna go out to the shop and make one now 🙂
Glad to see you again. I tend to lean towards the natural looks too.
I love them both but I like the color on the red tree. You could use any color you want. Great work😊
I am rather proud of the star on the red one.
+1 subscriber. Best DIY cedar design found thus far.
Wow, thanks! There are a ton out there so I really appreciate that.
Yes, thanks. Finally got the wife’s approval now that I’ve met her design satisfaction!
Love both ways
I did see all of your comments and I appreciate all of the support.
Enjoyed both videos ,thanks !
I'm glad you liked them.
Both trees are very nice. Great plan!
Thank you very much.
Both have their own appeal and applications.
I completely agree.
I like the painted tree
I am particularly fond of the painted star.
I love them
Thank you!
I like them both, but the painted one really shows off the spirals better 👍
I am particularly fond of the painted star. I appreciate your support.
I went through a ton of cedar pickets this week making skirting for my mobile home. That was a lot of cutting. I still have about 200 of them left because I accidentally over ordered. I have seen these in a smaller scale before. Never this big.
I have been flooded with orders for them. Those pickets could pay for themselves 100 times over.
love these Andy! Union yes!
Glad you like them! I love all the union support. I have actually thought about offering a "Local 319" Cedar river shirt inspired by the union design.
@@cedarriverwoodworking good idea.
Great design and build. I like the red and white version best. I just think it would be more sellable. Will watch the "star" next. A shout out from Houston, Texas via Little Rock, Arkansas.
I'm particularly fond of the painted star. the stars remind me of a texas star, so I hope those are right up your alley.
I like the cedar tree. Definitely going to be making me a few
You'll have to let me know how they turn out.
Love the natural tree! Saw the tree video first - going to look for the star video now!
I hope you enjoy that one too.
Watched tree build first love painted tree candy cane style looks awesome 👌 👏
I am particularly fond of the painted star.
This is the first video I have seen. I like the painted one and I will now be a subscriber!❤

I can't wait to make this tree I like the natural one DKS
I do really like the natural look.
