I'm Tower Captain here (in charge of the ringing), and we practice every Wednesday 7-9 and ring for service every Sunday morning 9.45-10.40. We have a fine peal of twelve (the only peal of twelve in Wiltshire) and we're always on the lookout for new recruits.
Do you remember on the 3 hour peal video, which you only stayed for 20 minutes, I couldn’t find the links you sent me, so I was wandering if you could film a video of one Wednesday evening inside the tower?
We were just taking a break. There's a mechanism to pull the clock hammers clear of the bells for ringing them manually, so the clock doesn't try to strike them while we ring.
Also, it is much more obvious at night, that the centre of the town is dying. I know it was a Wednesday, but it was dead. I think I coumted less than 10 people.
Thank you for showing a little about where you live 👍🙏💚
Did you spot the little window open where they were operating from? Hard to see?

Be Proud of beautiful music you make. You are so appreciated. Blessings from Florida
Thank you so much! How did you find me? 🤣 Glad you liked it!
@@ruth.greening A bellringer from West London spotted your post, and let me know. Us bellringers are a close-knit bunch! 😁
@@benjaminkipling4135 Wow! Bush telegraph works in the UK after all! 🤣🤣🤣 I come from the bush. South Australia 🌏🦘.
@@benjaminkipling4135 Do you know the bell-ringers in Bradford on Avon too? I know one of them.
Bell's ❤ thank you Ruth there's something very soothing about them 😎👍
Glad you enjoyed them. Perhaps I should walk down each Wednesday? 🤣
So grateful for you showing your walks. Looks like St Augustine Fl but alot older.
Thank you for your appreciation. I keep wondering how much longer we'll have the freedom.
Does that church have a 2nd sharp for that front 8 I’m just wondering.
Bells: loud and clear!

There was a little window under the clock, which was partially open. I suspect that it was for ventilation: hard work ringing bells.
Not the most popular video. Animals and flowers have more appeal. But this bell ringing is a dying art form.
Yes it is. Very Very little in the states. Ready for this, people actually complain.
@@ilovedeermeme They probably would in Australia too.
I know nothing about clampinology: but it seems that they had to wait for the clock to strike the quarter hour!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I saw several rats. Once the people vacate the streets at night, the rats are out in force.
