- Was this a perfect performance from my part? No. Did I have a blast playing what turns out to be a pretty mid quality bass trumpet? Yes.
IDK WHY I LOOKED SO GRUMPY!!! Sorry, don't make faces folks.

Those first three notes sound oddly familiar...
it felt like he was gonna have a bad time
WHAT IS THAT MELODY?????
Luke... Is that you?
*four. He played four.
sounds like the indiana jones theme from the first movie when he got the golden statue
Please do more of this stuff. It’s so cool to see a whole concert from this perspective.
7:01 Insane trumpets.
Played this 3 weeks ago! Such a fun part and instrument to play!
Incase yall are wondering he starts playing at 28:12
Thanks
He looks like he has a devious plan set in place and hes waiting for the right moment to (rite of) spring it into action
I was thinking your expression was less grumpy and more evil overlord-y, like, "Yes.... yes, the orchestra is performing up to my standards." ;) Great performance. Been wanting to listen to Rite of Spring in its entirety, so good timing on posting this.
If you want a really good recording, I recommend the one conducted by Yoel Levi with the Atlanda Symphony Orchestra from 1992.
@@v_munu Chailly + Cleveland / 1985 🔥🔥🔥
Such a GREAT performance 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
If this was the performance on Friday, I went and saw it! You guys were excellent
I love this kind of videos, great performance!!!
it's always the 3rd valve that goes bad halfway through a concert
bro gave the people next to him the lightskin stare😂
Bass trumpet is such a cool sound!
Stravinsky always hits different
So long without any bass trumpet, wow
such a distinguished gentleman
wait… is this woolsey hall on may 6th??? i was there!!! you sounded amazing!!
Yes!!!!!! Rite is awesome
What ear plugs are you using here? I've been meaning to get some for myself but I can't find any that don't majorly mute how I sound in my head
imagine getting into stanford just to only to play in the last 6 minutes of rite of spring
edit: yale
this is yale
@@jeremysolomon2686 ah, my bad. I thought I heard somewhere he went to stanford.
the stress in his eyes when the third valve got stuck haha luckily there wasn't third valve stuff after that.
The joke is that there is no bass trumpet until the final two movements
Timo in observant mode
Just wondered. Do you always wear earplugs? I always struggled with wearing them because then I feel I can't hear my dynamics and sometimes my intonation. What type do you use?
0:08 Me when I hear rhythms from Woodwinds that I'll never get to play as a slide slinger 🤨
At least you didnt miss the entrance
So serious 😂
He plays at 28:00
thats a first for me hearing about the bass trumpet sounds so cool tho might start to play it very beautiful piece tho
btw what orchestra is this your playing love the sound?
I think it’s the Yale Philharmonic.
@@trombonist-bo6yi oh thankyou fr info 😅
@@trombonist-bo6yi I thought he went to UT?
The Rite of Timo ?
A little muah at the very end haha
I want a professional bass trumpet so badly
I’m a bass tromboner and I’m a freshman in high school. Any tips on being able to play the high Bb in the trombone solo from Bolero clearly every time?
good air support-what about the Db?
@@hguantrombone the Db is not that bad. The Bb is just awkward
14:52 Go Mingyu Go!
Nice g.cassa hits, dude!
I felt 3:51 on a personal level
I'm not sure if this was meant to be, but I found this extremely comical.
Is Bass Trumpet like euphonium/baritone, don't judge me idk the difference. On a side note, what is the difference between a euphonium and a baritone?
Idk about bass trumpet and euphonium/baritone but I do know that euphoniums are more conical than baritones and it changes the sound a little bit and euphoniums seem to be more common
@@hiiexist479 euphonium is more cylindrical than baritones - they kinda originate from different places/people and times in history.
@@javirodriguez4621 Other way around, baritone is more cylindrical.
Bass trumpet, like the regular trumpet, is cylindrical, unlike the baritone or euphonium, which are conical. The trombone is also cylindrical, so my understanding is that the bass trumpet is effectively a valve trombone with more bends.
A bass trumpet shares the same range as the euphonium and baritone, but the difference is in the bore of the instrument, the mouthpiece used, and as Bryce said, the euphonium is more conical and as such has a warmer, less brassy sound generally
The bass clarinet at 1:40 😩😩👌👌👌
Hi
Bravo pour la musique mais aussi pour l'expression du visage 😂
Must have been frustrating when your 3rd valve started to stick
Still more to do than the 4th bone in mahlers 1. Symphonie 😂
Hahaha your right hand gives you away as a trombonist. Nice job though!
Part One
Part Two
🗿
earplugs?
You play trumpet now?
ah! #3 piston won't go up!!😵💫 32:49
First
You skipped the only bass trumpet solo....
RUclips took it out :(
Bro is mad that he has to play trumpet
99% bass trumpet
getting paid to sit around all day. Ok I know you would rather be playing the entire piece. I blame stravinsky for writing such a boring part. is that an Eb bass trumpet?
This piece sucks but cool video
