INSANE Journey to the Heart of THAILAND: Heading South

  • Recently some subscribers said that they'd like to go on a trip with me. Before we knew it we were of on a crazy dash to the South of Thailand. The first destination was Hup Pha Sawan (search "Heaven Valley Ratchaburi" on Google Maps). It's an incredible place, virtually unknown to tourists and even locals, a genuine contender for "Unseen Thailand" status and only just over an hour from either Hua Hin or Bangkok.
If you're interested in Heaven Valley's incredible history then please watch this video I made about it previously.

on rewatching to recall how you expertly interwove airtime w hikers and dogs, this Charles lindbergh transatlantic flight story came to mind. on getting out of his aircraft, a reporter approached Charles, "but how did you pee?" Charles without hesitation answered he strategically brought an empty bottle onboard. at the right moment he discarded the now full bottle over open farmland over France. "I wasn't going to be caught with that thing in my hand" when facing a worldwide adoring public

Great video Carl, those views are awesome. Those two dogs had me mesmerised with their presence in the video, one great shot with the tan coloured dog walking into the shot as you lot walked up the stairs. Might have to give him/her a credit.

the dogs were certainly the stars on this trek. no "come on" coaxing required. they knew what was the task at hand.

Thanks so much. I thought that was a cool shot too but thought nobody else would notice. Actually I will have to check if it's the same pair of doges who ascended with myself and Baldy Brian on my last video from there.

You have some budding canine superstars with those dogs. Niall Harbison on Samui would have adopters begging for them if they were on his channel@@karlsthailand

Incredible landscape with the flat low land and the small mountains poking out of the ground. Every time your videos surprise me with how they create these temples so high up. Got to have respect for the Thai people for creating them.
Did you reward your two guard dogs once you had descended?

The two guys with you did a great job getting to the summit, I would have been drawing air from China! Make sure they do not ring the bells when they get back to Pattaya, could be costly. Looking forward to seeing your adventures down South, I will be venturing down there as soon as the pollution starts to get any worst. Great vid mate, you three should be sponsored by Vidal Sasoon, obviously I can make the comment as I am in the same folic, ally challenged club.

I’d say a little tougher but not much, it’s certainly steeper but pretty easy going once you are up there although there are some staircases up to the temples. Just take your time and you’ll be fine. Cheers

They are the Temple dogs, most Temples in Thailand have a collection of them, they are fedd and relatively safe. Perhaps I should have given them more acknowledgement. Believe me it's nowhere near as topugh as the Tiger Cave Temple in Krabi which is going to be in another of my videos very soon. Cheers
