Interesting. I've never heard of anyone not putting a bead of silicone down before attaching the two pieces of glass together. Perhaps the added support helps but I personally wouldn't skip that step (I overbuild everything 😊). Hopefully your tank lasts a very long time. Thanks for the video....

Well its good to see videos like this once in a while to stay normal. The moment i saw duct tape i had all the confidence in your craftsmanship and i'm pretty sure all the experienced hobbyists will agree with that. 😊
Have a few doubts apart from the build, if you could let me know.
1. How many days you let the silicone to cure ?
2. When to add water ?
3. When to add fish ?
4. How often do we need to change water and the volume ?
5. How effective is that filtration (if it is) ?

Whats the thinking of not puting any silicone between the glass pieces? Is it that the tank was small enought and doesnt need the extra bonded support? Thanks.
I’m an engineer. And this is totally incorrect. The layout of glass and acrylic tanks are different. Glass panels are secured to the vertical sides of bottom panel. Not resting atop like acrylic.

Achha hai video, Length 5 feet, aur breadth and height kitni hai? And 12mm glass hai ya 8mm? I want to update my current 5 feet tank.
5 feet length, 2 feet height, 1.5 feet width (8mm tempered glass)
It is recommended to use 12mm glass

I used 5 mm glass for a 3 feet × 2 feet aquarium.. Is it okay? Or i have to add extra support for glass strength??
For 3 feet 5mm is okay but make sure width is not more than 1 feet.

12mm glass is more suitable for aquariums larger then 4 feet and smaller then 8 feet. And yes my aquarium is still running fine.

Surprised the tank has stayed together. You have run a seal round the glass but have not glued the glass together with silicone. That tank is a ticking time bomb ready to burst. Duct tape! Really? Holding it together! Anyone planning to build a tank look up some other posts and keep your floor dry!

It is very Simple :
1- Base 5ft x 1.5ft
2- Back side 5ft x 2ft
3- Front side 5ft x 2ft
4- Left side 2ft x 1.5ft
5- Right side 2ft x 1.5ft
Some supports in bottom and top … thats it

I used under gravel filter with powerhead.

It has an under gravel filter, which recycles all the water and eventually cleans it 👍

60"Lx18"Wx24"H would be about 112gallons US. FWIW, that would call for 1/2" thick glass for the front, back and sides, and 3/4" glass on the bottom panel.
