Very informative, thanks. My only 2 cents about changing the direction of Tyre mount is that instead of throwing the dirt/water laterally out when in motion, to keep the contact patch clean, a swapped direction will actually direct the unwanted things towards the contact patch, which will not keep it that safe at higher speeds in the wet. So you may want to keep lower speeds in muddy and wet conditions.
About the wobbling, the same tyre may cause wobbling if the installer doesn’t tightened the pinch bolt and mudguard bolts correctly. I’ve corrected this issue in my bike without changing the tyres.

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  7 месяцев назад +1

Hi Jesse... The logic you explained regarding the swapped tyre throwing stuff right into the contact patch makes alot of sense - it has been 10k kms with these tyres for me now and I've gotten used to their behaviour.
These tyres don't inspire the confidence to go fast and actually transfer a little amount of vibrations into the handlebar while riding on smooth tarmac (maybe because of the block pattern). I'll be changing these after a couple of thousand kms and will probably be going for Vredestine tyres.
Thanks for taking your time out and providing some really valuable info 👌

I would suggest not to go for aftermarket alloy wheels....as far as tubeless rims are concerned - locally it's not available and imported ones cost upwards of 1 lakh rupees...so it's best to convert the existing spoke rims to tubeless with the help of either the Way2Speed tubeless kit or the expensive Outex kit

I am happy to see that finally, someone else is also endorsing Ralco tyres for Interceptor. I have complete 11,000 km on Ralco and now it's time to change them, and I would be doing so with yet another set of Ralco.
There is a scientific reason, why the front tires need to be flipped. You are right in mentioning that it is otherwise a Rear tire. In case you are interested, you may watch the following videos and you get the details - ruclips.net/video/fx21WgVQgig/видео.html
Regarding cornering, to what extent should you lean the bike to consider that the tires are good? You actually may not be able to answer till you do it. So, lemme share my small little experience and it might be helpful.
During my Spiti Ride in June, I rode for 3,300 km with a pillion and full luggage load. When I finally got some tarmac in Manali, I was able to lean the extend that my footpeg touched the road.
I must also add, that leaning also largely depends on the riding confidence of the rider and then on the tires.
I am happy to hear about your experience Way2Speed Tubeless conversion. I intend to do it when I get a new set of tires for my Jazba.
Thank you once again for sharing this video.
    Happy and safe riding.

Just that these are not meant to hit those corners agressively...for that one should go for the Scorpion Trails which are really expensive. Cheaper option like Ceat is good too but since they are tube tyres I didn't have much of a choice.

Hi Vishnu... The manufacturer claims these tyres shouldn't be used above 150.... So I'm going to follow that and not go beyond the prescribed limit.

@@vichu650 Bro as much I've ridden the Interceptor... I can surely say that with its power of 47bhp it won't 'suddenly' go over 150 until you really want it to.... 120-140 feels adequately fast on this bike.
If you plan to go over 150.... And touch its top speed then don't go for Ralco tyres... Go for Pirellis maybe

Wobbling has gone may be due to balanced wheels now.
Every tomdickharry know about that chitchit sound of new tyres, I wonder why you didn't aware about it.
Don't encourage people to ride fast on wrong tyres ( speed rating is 150 kmph) + inverted rear tyre fitted as front tyre.

Well nobody mentioned that part in any of the videos/blogs I came across - so got the risers fixed when I noticed it.
My friend got the wheel balancing done with his 'pirellis' but wobbling issue still remains.
About the speed - 100-120 is the average highway/expressway speed that I do while touring and there was no intention to show off how fast I can go.... 135-140 was just to show that it felt stable.

@@TheTwinPost wobbling may be due to uneven tyre wear and tear ( which happens due to softer tyres + we never balance it) , loose cone set, more or less air than optimum, uneven fork oil levels in both forks, uneven height of forks, out of spec rims. This Ralco tyre is good but loose grip in corners obviously it's not designed for it being rear tyre so ride carefully buddy 👍
