Nicely done. Just a heads up, Gel X is a trademarked products from Apres. Not an application technique or service. This is a full cover gel tip application.
Thank you for clearing this up! I was super confused when seeing a video that would say GelX but no products used had the name included so I was like wait, what is GelX then??! Lol
I actually didn't know this!! I thought it was an application technique similar to the *ACTUAL APRES GEL X* system and that was why everyone called it Gel X because its similar to the original system but not said system. This is the first time I've seen someone point this out. Interesting…🤔🤷🏾♀️
👏🏻 , and polygel is not the name of a technique as well, it's actually the name of the product! HYBRID GEL, is the actual name of what everyone calls "polygel"
I have been learning to do my own nails since prices have basically tripled in my area. I remember when a full set was $40 and fill ins were $15-$20. I could get a full set and pedi for $80. My husband and I have been talking about me going back to school to learn to do nails professional so I can get my certificate. He said he will make me a nail salon at our house. I think I am going to take him up on his offer. Thank you for sharing your work with us!
It is ridiculous!!!! What is your opinion on gel x nails??? I have been wanting try them however the allergic reactions people have been having scares me. Has anyone tried the Sistaco nail polish??? I want to try it but it is expensive, but all the reviews talk about how easy it is and how others love it….,
@shannonwhitfield8943 I didn't like gel x when I tried them. I just taught myself to do acrylic. They last much longer. Everyone is different tho. If u do acrylic I suggest using kiara sky cause they are hema free which prevents allergic reactions!!! I think they also have a full cover tip line with a bunch of options! I've heard of sistaco but I've never tried them just cause the prices really.

In cosmotology school text book, I saw you should not apply primer to tip as it can make the tip more brittle and prone to breaking. In other scenarios, it can melt or discolor the tip
The primer she uses is specifically for tips. It chemically etches them. Instead of buffing with an efile. These are made out of gel, not plastic like other tips, so they will react differently to different solvents.
I would suggest to purchase a brand that is HEMA free though as if you are a beginner there is more chance of you making contact with your skin while learning how to apply these products. If you pick a HEMA free product and you touch you skin accidentally there is less chance of developing allergy!
In my experience with full cover tips, applying the glue gel to the nails and NOT curing works way better and it helps eliminate air bubbles which helps adhesion
@@Mommy_Moss she means a slip layer on the natural nail and then applying the tip and then curing instead of putting the gel on the tip. It's getting cured but just not immediately instead a half a minute later after the tip is on..(if you'd work with hard gel you'd understand what it is, you don't use a base coat and cure it for builder/hard gel, but rather you apply a very very thin "slip layer" where you want the gel to go and then build your first layer and only then do you cure. It's like a base without curing because hard gel bonds to gel so well) imo experience when it comes to full cover tips the best results are when you do both a slip layer and a dab on the tip if you're using thin glue gel but for the ultimate use a thicker formula or a solid - you can't go wrong with the solid or you can use polygel or builder gel imo those are the best for beginners especially and the great part is you can use whatever color you'd like for your background or even do a marble or design with the poly or colored builder gel.
