Monsoon has many surprises in store for visitors and residents alike in Kerala. Many a stream and waterfall come to life with the sudden heavy rains hitting the state. Aruvikkuzhi falls is one such monsoon wonder. Located in the landlocked district of Kottayam, this waterfall attracts plenty of visitors during season. It is a delight to watch the crystal clear waters falling from a height of 30 feet. The surrounding plantations and trekking trails are favourite spots for nature and adventure lovers. Families are often seen camping in these areas. Aruvikkuzhi falls is a perfect one day picnic spot for families.
is a waterfall in Kottayam district in the Kerala state of India. It is situated 2 km (1.2 mi) from Pallickathode and 7.5 km (4.7 mi) from Pampady. The waterfall measures about 30 ft in height and active only during monsoon. In summer the river almost dries up.
Falling in five steps, This lesser known waterfall is ideal for trekking and is located in the midst of rubber plantations. Check out this video to get the feel of Aruvikuzhy Waterfalls.
