Great video of your rock cutting skills. I was excited to see you have a new baby to take care of. Wow! Fantastic cuts!!! The first two agates looked like elegant stairs! You had the agate with the black blobs on it, on the table...did you give it a cut?? Such a cool stone!! And those galaxy stones, thanks Agate Dad, are crazy inside!! So funky and colourful!! I use my table saw the same backwards way that you do... I am alot less dirt spattered when I’m finished lol. Although it is part of the fun!!!

Love your video, love all the agates and rocks that you show us. It’s amazing I started out the same way you did with using a tile saw. I still have two very cheap tile saws that I used to cut all my stones. I invested in the cab king 8 inch cab polishing machine to finish off all my pretties, thanks again love it
I've not watched this channel since I was in public school, and I'm so glad I've finally found something I can get back into that won't trigger my trauma from that school
Yeah Anna they’re stunners hey. Oh and we didn’t realise that we needed to wothdraw the money from PayPal haha! So we just did that and I’ll let you know when we pop it in the go fund me.
@@Rookie_Rockounding You have no idea how happy that made me to read 😂 I did that when I first got PayPal, sat for 3 weeks waiting on money going into my bank before I realised I had to transfer it myself 😂😂 so glad I'm not the only one 😂
I'm late! Better than never though. You should get yourself a little tabletop belt sander and tabletop drill press and shape some of them smaller cut stones into pendants to sell. I picked up a new small sander for 40 bucks and a drill press for 50 bucks. 10 pendants at 10 bucks each can quickly pay off at mineral shows and shops. 👍
Haha thank you Cheryl, yeah it backs on to a nature reserve and there heaps of different birds there. It’s only when I film that I really notice it though 🤔😊
Hey Margie! Yeah everything is good, just busy busy, I work two jobs and do the videos and family life so sometimes I get behind in videos. But everything is genuinely great. Thanks for asking 😉👍
Giday Jess, some nice looking pieces on the saw there. That amygdaloidal basalt with the blue green chalcedony should look very interesting when finished. Found some similar material in Christmas Creek, tried to chase some seams of blue in a boulder, but most of it was too thin or broke apart during removal, though I have some pieces with lots of blue cells through it. Some of those fine lined agates are very interesting and should make some nice display pieces with a bit of back lighting. I'll just have to wait for the next video to see how they look. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin.
Cheers mate! Sorry I’ve taken so long to get back to ya. I’ve been getting ready for camping, and camping over the last week and a half so it’s been busy times. I’m gonna have to check out Christmas creek. If they have the Amygdaloidal ones they hopefully would have some bigger nodules floating around 😉 Hope you’re keeping well mate!
I've had that same problem where the nodules fall out of the basalt like that. I was kinda bummed for you there. Such a pretty little greenish marble! I love amygdaloidal basalt! Such a cool bunch of the little agates inside, and if your lucky on the outside too. Just like your little green buddy there. I find so many on the central coast here in Oregon. My most favorite hobby, rockhounding 🥰 ROCK ON Jesse!
I love the basalt galaxy stone. It's my favorite rock when it's stabbed like this. Just beautiful. I tried breaking up this big piece green jasper today so I could tumble it, didn't go well, too hard for me to break with a hammer and chisel. Saw time!!!
Dude! That's so beautiful and awesome. Hiya Jessie, now that's some beautiful stones. And once you polish them they're going to be so beautiful. I know it's a lot of work but it's worth it. Stay safe out there mate. Cheers!
With the exception of the basalt, the cut stones and other whole nodules I would love to see tumbled. I have been using a saw just like yours, but I just purchased the High-Tech 10" slab and trim saw. With the low rpm, a much better cut and blade wear. Recommended for sure!
Wow, Rookie, I love your cuts!! The "Galaxy Agates" I have always called "birthing rocks" cuz they give birth to tiny agates! Lol! That carnelian waterlevel at 1:59 is stunning! Also that agate nodule at 9:08, OMG, that reminds me of the view of Mt Hood in my backyard here in Oregon! So gorgeous! The agate at 10:13, that druzy pocket is to DIE for!! As always, an amazing video, Rookie!!
Yeah brother! I don’t remember who told me about it, maybe thirst or it mighta even been you dude??? Haha! It feels like ages ago hey. It’s flown by! Thanks for stickin I’m here with me brother. I hope you and the fam are keeping well dude!

Enjoyed your techniques for cutting Agates. I have been trying a tile saw and I always ended up ruining whatever shirt I was wearing with water and staining from the stones. So not a fashion statement but I wear a garbage bag cut out spots for the head and arms and good to go. No staining, and it keeps me from getting all wet.
Hey now, I almost went there myself haha 😉👍 But I definitely have a couple of sets of “rock clothes” that I use when I cut or polish with these tools. 😂
I'm obsessed with these cutting videos. I've only just started trying to slice my rocks. I'm still very bad at it but these videos make me want to keep trying and get better. I NEED TO SEE WHAT'S INSIDE ALL THE ROCKS! How do you know where to cut?
I’m so glad these videos make you want to cut more. To be honest the more you do the more you get the back for it. You can shine a flashlight through the agates to see if you can see a difference inside and then cut through that. Otherwise I just really look at the rock and imagine what would be happening on the inside between the two sides that I can see. And hope for the best haha! Windowing a rock is always a good way to see what’s happening inside as well. That’s where you just cut a very small slice off an end and see what gets exposed. I hope that helps Wendy and happy cutting!!!!
I can’t believe how I missed it! I just had a look at the rock polished and it looks even more like it! Nice find Allyson! Hope your weekends bein good to you and your fam 😉👍
Love the dog, he's going to be a star, watch him he's stealing the show; sold on the first stone lol, got to do loads of stones, just waiting for the weather to change, stone at 5:+ are so good and I've left one like it in the field, yes I'm going back there soon asp, top stones great video , have a great week mate
Chalcedony is amazing, i really knew nothing of it til i watched your videos. Where i live there is only calcite on the random limestone roads. One day out looking for some at the japanese gardens in my area i decided to check out the train tracks that are beside the trails. Boom i find some bubblegum agate, same as fairburn agates here in america. I found some real beauties along with pink white and yellow chalcedony and some jasper that looks similar to bumblebee. I love learning new things, also i found star blue quartz pyrite a few obsidian and 2 jasper geodes full of sugar crystals. Love this channel
The whole Galaxy Stone thing is marvelous. I have passed over those rocks on our beaches and hadn't thought to check out the polished or sliced version. I'm sure every location has a different flavor/color of agate inside. I think ours have zeolite too, actually. I'm definitely polishing one up, now to see what happens. Thanks for another great video.

Out here In southeastern Massachusetts all I find is chalcedony witch is cool. I haven’t found any agates yet and I’m heading to this new spot that was raked over by the ice sheet 12,000 years ago . I been doing my research and I’m taking the family with me haha enjoy brother and another cool video thanks bro
I’m gunna try the backwards thing and remove the guard it is a pain with it in the way . Sorry for all the comments I just get excited and it’s fun to watch and talk shop with people
Oh man! That sounds super awesome! Nice work on the researching bud, I’m terrible at it. Oh and yeah totally try that backwards cutting, it almost fees more smooth also, but I could be making that up in my head haha! Happy hounding and happy cutting and man, it’s only a matter of time before you find them bands! You wait! It’s such a cool feeling!
Great stuff as always brotha! I've been learning a lot about agates lately. When you say "it's lava, then magic, then agates! That's how they're formed!" You're not far off! 'We' still don't know the complete mechanisms through which agates form! Two major points of contention are between those who subscribe to 'aggregation', wherein the agate is formed by repeated influxes of silicic acid, as opposed to those who subscribe to 'differentiation', wherein the vesicle is filled once with a silicic acid and then chemical processes dictate the internal structures. Indeed both sides have substantial merit, and evidence to support them. The other point of contention is between those who believe the structures that seem to be areas of fluid movement within the vesicles are either infiltration channels or exit channels (ie are they the 'jets' of silicic acid intruding during aggregation, or are they points where material has been ejected due to an increase in vesicle pressure due to chemical differentiation?). The knobbly one with black on it that I swear I saw you pick up in this video but now can't find the timestamp for, that one looked like it had several of these features. They form around breaches in the husk. I think you could have a vesicular porphyry. I'm fairly certain I've seen it around here..... The waterline is technically called 'gravitationally banded agate', or onyx. You have some wonderful examples here of how sometimes the bands are concentric in the top portion of the vesicle, but then gravitationally banded on the bottom. Apparently it usually goes to the bottom of the vesicle, but I have one in my collection where the waterline is in the middle, almost entirely suspended in concentric banding. There's actually no blue agates! I know, I know, if anyone has actually made it this far in to this comment, you'll be screaming "We just saw them! And what about Ellensburg?!", but the truth is, almost all 'blue' agates are actually a greyish - greyish-yellow when you pass light through from behind them. They appear blue for similar reasons the sky does. There are tiny bubbles that scatter reflected light, but are transparent-translucent to parallel rays. True-blue agates are extremely rare, if they exist at all. I'm not saying they don't, but I don't know of any for sure.
Okay... I have to go to work but I read what you said about blue agates and you are correct and I'm not going to completely argue with you but... There are true blue agates. The Ellensburg agates can be found but are rare. Most people think they found one but did not. If it glows gray or brownish yellow ish... Then it is not a true blue. But if it glows with a pink hue then it is true. The president of my club would be the first to tell you this and has many that he's collected over 50 years and has shown me the actual difference in person. But they are super super rare to find. And most of the land you find it on is all private
@@MarlainaAtkins Yeah I wasn't sure about the Ellensurgs. I've heard Nick Zentner talk about them, but to be fair he isn't a super-fine-details guy, just a fantastic teacher! What you're saying makes sense if the reason for the colour is absorbtion, because then when you pass light through it you should absorb the blue, leaving red shades. That means it's different from they grey-blues because their colour is a result of the Tyndall effect. Thanks M!
Oh man! This is brilliant Adam! Dude see I had heard that it’s not really known exactly how they’re formed and I think that’s what makes them even more appealing to play with. I wonder if they’ll ever come to an agreement on the exact science. I’m out camping with the fam so sorry for the short message but just wanted to say thank you again just massively for what you bring to this community. Your a frikin gem dude. Pardon the pun ha! I still have two very cheap tile saws that I used to cut all my stones. I invested in the cab king 8 inch cab polishing machine to finish off all my pretties, thanks again love it
Ohhhhhh Douglas I cant wait to have a cab king! One day my friend! I cannot wait!
Thanks buddy 👍👍👍
Oh wow, i really got here early. Nice rocks.
Haha! HERP DERP! Nice work 😉👍
I've not watched this channel since I was in public school, and I'm so glad I've finally found something I can get back into that won't trigger my trauma from that school
I really love those galaxy stones 😍
Hermosas piedras, dando una sorpresa en cada corte!

It's always awesome to see what you have found and what you have done with them. Keep the videos coming!
Thank you weasel! It’s so much fun each time 😉
Beautiful pup!❤️Incredible stones, your back yard looks and sounds like a bird sanctuary. Loved this video! Thanks!
Haha thank you Cheryl, yeah it backs on to a nature reserve and there heaps of different birds there. It’s only when I film that I really notice it though 🤔😊
3:40 the lines and banding look like a staircase going in between two hills or mountains.
I’ve missed you! Is everything okay? You cut some beautiful rocks. Can’t wait to see them polished up. ♥️👍🏼♥️
Hey Margie! Yeah everything is good, just busy busy, I work two jobs and do the videos and family life so sometimes I get behind in videos. But everything is genuinely great. Thanks for asking 😉👍
Rookie Rockhounding okay, I’m glad to hear that. I totally understand life being life. LoL 😂 Keep up the good work. ♥️
If they have the Amygdaloidal ones they hopefully would have some bigger nodules floating around 😉
Hope you’re keeping well mate!
My most favorite hobby, rockhounding 🥰
ROCK ON Jesse!
Cheers!
Love your videos would like to see your puppy in more of them
Lovely video. Some great stones. Thank you. C u soon 🙂
Thank you Michelle! See you next vid 😉👍
Much love.Ty. i share🙏🎶
Thank you Yudit!
With the exception of the basalt, the cut stones and other whole nodules I would love to see tumbled. I have been using a saw just like yours, but I just purchased the High-Tech 10" slab and trim saw. With the low rpm, a much better cut and blade wear. Recommended for sure!
Oh man that’s awesome! One day for sure I’ll be getting some better equipment 😉
Thank you for sharing the recommendation Paul!
Dude you rock! The mrs and I love watching your videos, I'm a rookie rockhound in nz and your videos are very helpful. Cheers brother 😃
Aye thank you man! So glad to hear bro!
Nice rocks...Rookie 👍👍😘😘
Very cool stuff. Ive been cutting in reverse for a while now. It works better for me as well.
Yeah brother! I don’t remember who told me about it, maybe thirst or it mighta even been you dude??? Haha! It feels like ages ago hey. It’s flown by! Thanks for stickin I’m here with me brother. I hope you and the fam are keeping well dude!

Those mixed ones are beautiful
Enjoyed your techniques for cutting Agates. I have been trying a tile saw and I always ended up ruining whatever shirt I was wearing with water and staining from the stones. So not a fashion statement but I wear a garbage bag cut out spots for the head and arms and good to go. No staining, and it keeps me from getting all wet.
Hey now, I almost went there myself haha 😉👍
But I definitely have a couple of sets of “rock clothes” that I use when I cut or polish with these tools.
Wait until you cut your first surprise and it blows your mind... hope you got to cut some stuff...
Dude! Rookie! Agate at 3.53...stair way to heaven in there?
I can’t believe how I missed it! I just had a look at the rock polished and it looks even more like it! Nice find Allyson! Hope your weekends bein good to you and your fam 😉👍
Love the dog, he's going to be a star, watch him he's stealing the show; sold on the first stone lol, got to do loads of stones, just waiting for the weather to change, stone at 5:+ are so good and I've left one like it in the field, yes I'm going back there soon asp, top stones great video , have a great week mate
Good morning!!
Mornin TreeLynn!!!!
What a wicked video every one of those turned out fantastic noticed that you've been delving into audio library I love Lakey! good morning to me I would die to make that one at 2:00 into a pendant or 2! Brilliant work!
Oh man Lakey is one of my go-to audio library favourites. So lucky we can use them without copyright. It helps me edit so so much!
And dude I know right! What a stunner hey! And in such a little package 😉
Hope your having a rad weekend brother!
@@Rookie_Rockounding you also!

Beautiful dog!
Beautiful rocks and a dog named Gucci
Love cutting agates! I just uploaded a cutting video cutting some interesting agates. Very beautiful stuff!!
Oh man rad buddy! I’ll have to jump over and watch it. I’ve been under the pump busy and haven’t had the chance to watch as much so thanks for letting me know 👍👍
What do you do with all of your polished rocks? Do you keep them? Display them? Have a massive storage shed filled with rocks?

So I'm watching this for the second time and realized I never commented the first time! Friday I was SUPER busy getting ready for my trip to Saddle Mountain... But still... I should have commented at least to say how Bea-u-ti-ful they are! I'm not sure I can call a single stone ugly haha! Love love love it J... Have a rad week!🐾
Marlaina Atkins
Aye Mar!!! Have an awesome trip to Saddle Mountain!!! Can’t wait to hear about the adventures 😉😁
Crap mar! Haha! So sorry, I just re read what I wrote and it seemed so short haha! I wrote back to you before work this morning and was still bed brained. Sendin love sister!
@@Rookie_Rockounding Ah man no worries truly! Its all good. Sometimes we only have a little time... Never feel like you have to write a long comment brotha... Short ones are just as nice😊
Saddle Mountain was spectacular tho! I'll tell you about it soon... Well worth it. Cheers🐾
Very nice
Thank you Barbara. 😉👍
Oh and never apologise for too many comments, I love them dude. And will always try and get to them all eventually haha!
Love to both of you! (Mar 😁) 🐺🐺🐺
@@Rookie_Rockounding Have a great weekend campin with the ladies dude!
@@Rookie_Rockounding Love ya too brotha(s)! Have the best time camping with the fam!
Good to have you back Frookie. I’ve missed ya. Oh, that little Gucci is so cute! Wow, those 💦 line slices are so pretty. Look forward to seeing them all finished. Side Note: We just finished watching a really good series on Netflix. Glitch, filmed in (fictional) Yoorana, Australia 🇦🇺. Thought of you every time they crossed water or were near a river 😉
Hey!!!!!! We just finished watching Glitch as well! Ha!
It’s a brilliant series hey. I hope you guys have a great weekend!
Hello very nice cant wait to see which ones you polish. I am getting ready to start cutting my rocks and need a blade for it. Which one do you suggest. Thanks vivian
I really just use the ones that came with the saw. They’re diamond impregnated continuous blades. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help Vivian!
