- Update: The theme park opens July 3rd, but the Safari will remain as a drive through separate attraction for the time being.

Kane Christ YEAH! A lot of some coaster parts like some parts from Six Flags Great Adventure’s other defunct coasters like Batman and Robin: The Chiller, Viper, etc. should be added to the safari’s baboon habitat as well as some ride and coaster recreations for certain animal habitats like the previously completed Golden Kingdom with its removed additions for the Tiger and Asian habitats, Frontier Adventures for the Bear and Americas habitats, etc.!
yeah, I normally try to spot it from the top of king da ka, for the split second I see it it just makes the wait and the ride all the more worth it. Just so satisfying to see it there.
Its awesome when i was a kid in the 90s i went with my uncle the baboons were loose and bent his antenna and inalso rode the american scream machine with him funny how they put a piece of the track in the baboon section my 2 great memories

the best was when the baboons jumped on the cars and ripped up wipers and mirrors and forget it if you had a convertible. your rag top was ruined. anyone remember the year they stopped that?
It was the early 2000s that they put the Baboons behind fences
I remember watching a bus drive through and there must have been at least 10 baboons chilling on the top of it. Great way to get the bugs cleaned off your car.
I remember them messing up a piece of my step fathers Suburban lol I actually miss being able to have them all out in the open lol

I went to Six Flags in the 80's. I do not remember them having the animal safari. TY for the video. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

The Scream Machine was removed before I was tall enough to ride ANY coaster, but it is still super cool too see.

I remember going in 2003. My grandma and dad went. We drove through and my dad had American flags on his car and the giraffes ate them. It was amazing! My dad is no longer alive but I hope to go back there one day in memory of him.
Not that giraffes are the flags but being in the safari was amazing

I went there 8 am on opening day and I was first. When we went through we had no cars ahead of us or behind so it was even awesome
how long is the whole drive?
Yog You I did it yesterday, our reservation was at 11 am. We were in the gates by 11:08 and out by 1:08, so exactly 2 hours but I think if we would have done it any later, it would have taken longer.
I went today myself! I went around 2pm though and had a much much different experience. Also don't feel bad i actually worked as a tour guide back in 2013/14 and I don't remember half of the animals either, there's too many types of antelopes. :)

Karolyn come early around 9 to 11 that’s the time there very active and running around and having fun. At 2 pm they’re all sleeping and lounging around

Thank you so much for reviewing this ! I’m going on Tuesday the 2nd at 1130am. I’m so excited I have never been before even when it was open. I do have a tip tho, I’m going to try to wear the same uniform as the park employees to see if I can get a reaction from the animals. Wish me luck!

Went today. Didn’t see the rino. Are they not behind a fence like the elephant? We did however get surrounded by Red Ankole Cattle and I was worried a horn might go through our window. Do any stories like this happen at the safari? Looking for that is how I rabbit holed to this video.
I remember doing this in the early 90s. My brother in law had his windows rolled down and a giraffe stuck his head in and ate a cracker off my dad's stomach! We rolled them up! Good thing because the monkeys started climbing the car
What is old is new again. Been there years ago many times on Wild Safari and no need to go again. If it wasn't for the included Season Pass, I wouldn't pay to drive through.
Those things at the tiger place is called a Nilgai
They're giving you the treament that people normally give them. Stare at you like your in the cage. Lol

Me and my family are going today actually at 3pm. We live an hour away when should we leave? How early do you think we should get there by? Also do you come in contact with any people while checking in, like showing tickets.
We have reservations at 10 AM, so We will try to contactless check in today since we don’t have to process our memberships this time. Will also let you know what the line to get in looks like when we leave, which should be around noon....hopefully

Just left and there was no line to get in. seems like they’re managing traffic a lot better. We were through the entire safari in an hour and 25 minutes. With our windows closed we were able to show them our reservation time on my phone (From the email that we received last night) And scan our passes. Have fun!!!

It just depends on your luck, we just went through the Safari a second time and animals weren’t nearly as close most of the time. The camera I use has a really good zoom but I wasn’t using it too much, because with a moving car it would be very shaky

We have a 12 noon reservation this week when should we leave to get there? we are about an hour and 32 minutes away
I believe this past week there hasn’t been much of a problem getting in right at your reservation time it was only bad on Saturday and Sunday.
Quick question,my family wants to go to the safari but I want to go to great adventure so we doin both in the same day, we get to the safari at 10:30 and the park closes at seven. So I’m just asking how long it is and if I’ll have time for great adventure. Thanks !
Without a lot of traffic in the Safari it usually takes about 90 minutes

Yes, In fact we are doing all three parks this Saturday so look for that video soon
Just to toss the fact out there. The white rhea in the beginning is not albino it was leucistic meaning the eyes are blue not red. It is pigment loss but not totally like albinism. As a reference I was a tour guide in 2019 for the safari.
I went here on June 27 and it was amazing I made a video on the zebras
My membership expired in January...how much does it cost to go to the Safari....I would renew my membership if I knew the park was opening... but meanwhile how much does it cost for the Safari

should you go a bit before your reservation time?
On a busy day like Saturday or Sunday....possibly because I’m hearing some people didn’t get to the place where they check your reservations for some time. You can go anytime after though like if you have a 9 AM you could go at 3 PM
I thought about this until I realized you have to use you own car . Plus I have a soft top jeep wrangler . Definitely not recommended lol
It’s kinda sad that I couldn’t come close to the other animals or the souvenirs from the experience...

Any update on Jersey Devil?
My guess is construction is paused for the time being. I don’t live in New Jersey but here in New York, non essential construction projects have resumed so I think construction could resume sooner rather than later, but there’s a good chance the coaster won’t open until 2021
therock238360 Construction was paused early May but began again abt May 20th. The entire coaster is almost built so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s ready by late July/ early August

I was there in 1980 with my Dad. The baboons ripped the antenna and wipers off of my Dads Corolla. He was pissed and yelled at the exit guard. The Baboons where traumatic.

Nope. If you keep your windows closed like you’re supposed too, then there isn’t anything be to be scared of

Nope but it was one of the first things to reopen and did so about 1.5 months before the theme park

The lions had a lot more room years ago. That was extremely depressing. Same with the bears and the tigers. Thisclose to a rundown zoo. They have too many animals in certain sections.

Great video! We had a great time. We went in the afternoon so the animals weren't quite as active for us but we did get a fun giraffe encounter. It was so good! Check out our video if you'd like to see out drive through.
I can honestly car less about the Safari I know that’s an unpopular opinion I’ve never been a Safari person though
I enjoy the Safari but it’s not entirely my thing. It’s just something to do since we are all so bored right now. it’s a good place to go Instead of all the places where people aren’t social distancing

I don't see how this is safe. Driving through a safari where animals are close to your vehicle. I would be scared to do this as these are wild animals and you don't ever know if and when they will strike at you and your family. Very Dangerous.
The "dangerous" animals are in captivity. This is a hellhole for animals. It was much better taken care of 25 years ago. More freedom and space and there were no looming rides hanging over their habitats. Very depressing.

That my friend will cause problems, that's part of why they stopped it years ago. Their feeding them next thing ya know there going apeshit 🐒 all over the vehicles people don't listen and ruin the experience for others. Like what's so complicated about following directions🤲🚫
