I don't know if this is the case at Centennial, but in Jackson the minimum fire response on hand for commercial operations is one firefighter capable of driving one ARFF vehicle. Now, the airport has a dedicated fire house with three ARFF trucks and like twenty permanent staff but there are times when an aircraft is late that there will only be one firefighter ready to respond in case of a fire. Or none, if commercial operations have ceased for the night. And the nearest other firehouse is about a 20 minute drive away, with only one engine staffed.

With so many flights into the airport I am surprised that there is not a full time fire crew on site. I can appreciate the compliment it from local station principle but a dedicated on site facility means that off airport incidents do not impact your response to limited / no notice emergencies
i have the utmost respect for this channel but to be honest i was surprised to see 2:35, usually you don your hood when you don the rest of your gear if i recall from when i was trained. i could be wrong, but what do i know
In the UK your 'pre-plans' are called 1.1.d visits, an acronym for Section 1, Paragraph 1, Sub Section d of the Fire Services Act whereby all fire authorities must familiarise themselves with all high or special risks in their station area. Really pays dividends when it comes to firefighting. Love your downtime facilities. We used to do all sorts of stuff like that, building gardens, rock pools etc but they have taken virtually all down time off us apart from meal breaks, reduced manpower and increased the workload. Some of the things they task us to do now should be done by council works staff and care workers, consequently staff feel undervalued with an inevitable drop in morale. I'm glad I retired before the heart was ripped out of the job.
Despite all the comments and the apparent designation of the station with Red 3 to provide dedicated coverage, still seems odd that the ARFF units would be out of service any time Truck 35 is on a call.
As I may say this is a really cool department I love what they are doing. These airport firetrucks are terrible as far as pollution. They have a major purpose but that smoke stack is terrible.
hi all, what happend, if the Tower is on a call, and there is any problem on the Airport ? the Firefighter can´t bring inn RED 1 and the other Vehicles?
Love your work, and your department has become a standard for others.. would it be possible at some point to do an overview of the IDT vehicles? I'm a 911 dispatcher, and we're looking to implement a tactical dispatch team, and I'm looking for ideas. I know the first episode kind of lays the team out, but I guess I'm more interested in the equipment you're putting on the rig for the job. Wondering if there's something we've overlooked and might be beneficial to us. Thanks, and keep them coming.
One question from germany.. yea yanks need to help me out with some.. In germany we have Airport Fire Departments, paid by the Airport and theyre only job is the Airport, how is it organised over in the us? Do you have community founded fire stations close to the Airfield, that are on job in the "land" and on the airport?
Beautiful station. Captain seems like a genuine guy and a team player.

In charge of the truck and ARFF units, that’s a big load .... Much respect guys
An extremely good presentation. I am sure the citizens of Denver CO can feel a lot safer after watching this video
GoPro mounted on the door. Clever way to get a good shot. Really clever
This Dept. seems high & tight, and that skipper sounds like he would be cool to work for.....

I love this series and you guys should definitely make more!
35 stairs with Station 35 coincidence I think not
This would have been a great episode to talk about red leader too LOL. great video cant wait for the next one
RED ONE STANDING BY! HAHAHA
Lock S-foils in attack position.
Loving that 2-Stroke Detroit in Red 1, that thing is absolutely insane, already sinister, add that Detroit and it’s like maximum overdrive
I love watching these vids here on RUclips. I'm planning my Career in FireFighting when i can go to college. Or do online college courses.
Great Episodes from South Metro I will wait for New Videos . Thats Great
Happy to see your Challenge flags hanging in the hallway. I was part of the Challenge crew for ten years, I remember you guys. Be safe!
We just moved from Colorado about 3 years ago and sure do miss it but not the cold and the snow LOL. The first responders there are so awesome!!
You better not run through an intersection when that engine 32 comes through. That thing will smash a semi.
B🔥💴🗡️💀🧠💡🧠🚨💀🔥
It's never left the airport grounds, so don't worry about it running ANY intersections bud.

Fish Lips The literally went through an intersection on the way to the airport
Fish Lips They have had large fuel tanker fires on the interstate and Red 1 and 2 has responded.
I can't imagine the workload having to man 3 trucks with 4 guys. What happens if your knee deep in a structure fire and an aircraft alert comes out?

That pilot did an amazing job landing that plane
Sick Fire Hall. Very boutique.
Man I can imagine if the probie gets something wrong on a run or does something stupid at the station you’d put in timeout in the penalty box.
Hey "Will Ferrell" is the safety officer at this station. I remember things.
the main dispatch of the computer is unique love it

Good job gentlemen!
Very well documented. Very nice station you have too.
the movement areas of a airport is the taxiways and runways
Would it be possible if you can get some videos of your Westnet Pre Alert Tones? LOVE IT
Great Video! Just wondering, what kind of camera do you use on the top of your apparatus and how do you mount it?

When you do a mass casualties simulation how do you volunteer for it I would love to do one
So Alert 2 has involved fuel, my bet would be balanced it to a Alert 2 in 1+ BC32 and Port 5 along with station 44 & 45, good job Station 35
what is the average, daily call volume at Station 35?
that is good and a great thing to go by
Good episode. Keep em coming
Excellent but how do you have fire trucks off-airport? Does that meet standards. Thnk you

What do you do if T35 is on a run and you get an alert for the airport?
firebeecher next closest station
Nice fire sta
Gosh dang so you guys always pack out like that for every fire alarm?
What happens if the crew is out on a call with the tower and an airport emergency is declared where they need the crash trucks?
Just curious, what brand of turnout gear does South Metro use? Looks sharp!
