As a recently retired firefighter of 27 years, little over 20 years with Las Vegas FD, the best time in the fire house and what I miss the most, is being around my brothers and sisters.. And the truck vs eng is a worldwide fight in the firehouse.. My last assignment was on a truck, but as firefighters we rotate between units, truck eng rescue so for us that fight is not as big in some other departments, but it’s funny no matter what department, it’s always the same type of arguments.. truck sleeps while the eng works... the truck is called when real work is needed, etc..
I love seeing black firefighters I’m a African American woman and I’m going to fire school in the summer I’m really excited about it I heard fire school is fun. God knows I’m ready for emt school to be over
Good job Denver Colorado fire department on theses videos since I’m thinking about going back to medical field job well done on the videos I want to see more.
That's where you are. Here in NYC we go lights and sirens or no lights and sirens depending on the call and what due company we are automatically. If we're lights and sirens the code we get to run into the box modified is 10-20.
Some depts also use them as a blocker to protect the scene at Mvas as a sort of expendable asset rather than sacrificing a firefighting vehicle in the event that someone drives into the back of the scene
casually sat down across the pond in England, where you don't have to yield to emergency vehicles which is stupid :| Should always yield, Plus US Fire Departments are just cooler in general as well
The one time Glenn gets behind the wheel, they crash, just his luck, later in the video they operate on a wreck and he cuts his head. It’s just not his day on this shift...😑
Oh we have to use the reserved truck *crashes it* good thing we have this reserved reserved truck! If only that tow truck driver would of taken a few more seconds of his time to yield
15- 20 years ago, running hot on southbound Colorado Blvd at about 9th or 10th ave, we had just entered the intersection when some jackass in a pickup tried to rush arpund us and clipped the rear left side of the ambulance. Denver PD was there and actually arrested the guy. No injuries, but i came quite close to needing a change of underwear, and I bet my partner did too.🤤
If you look up to this heroes, you guys will love this: ruclips.net/video/ePJEUvsB6uo/видео.html - called feuer & flamme In my opinion, one of the best documentation series ever made - showing german firefighters work uncut
The DFD obviously doesnt feel the the need to yield at intersections just like everyone else needs to so this kinda shit doesn't happen, just cause you have lights and sirens doesn't mean you can disregard everyone else's safety to blow threw the intersection
i fully agree that they shouldve yielded and been more cautious. i also know when you have the green light and all your lights blaring its easy to forget people are still stupid enough to blow a red light. But i dont feel they fully disregarded public safety. and the Tow truck driver should've yielded in the very least if he were to still go through a red light
Lights and sirens are used to request the right of way, doesn't mean you're going to get it. Not slowing down enough to clear an intersection, even if you have a green light is NOT showing due regard.
Most firefighters are well trained, just two different styles. In Los Angeles, we are very traditional. All of our engines, quints, etc are red and we use wood ladders. I'm proud to continue our proud tradition. 💪🏼🚒🔥
Coates talking trash all day about the engine crew and proved to be a terrible driver and unsafe. Terrible driver because not only was it his duty to clear the intersection, EVEN on a green, but you can see his speed on the subsequent call through the intersections. And then right when I was thinking, "none of the truck crew is wearing eye protection during extrication ops," they show Coates with a big ole gash right on his brow. On a spot that would've CLEARLY been protected by safety glasses or eye protection of some kind. This dude needs a stern talking to, if not a demotion.
"if we have to use the jaws of life, people are in a bad way" lol, rubbish. A lot of people suffer minor injuries but physically can't get out of a car but still need to be extricated using hydraulic tools. Nothing like dressing the Job up at times.
The good thing about this vid being recorded at the time of the accident is you can hear the sirens and see that truck 26 had the green light.
need more of these videos. feel bad for the fire guys in the crash.video shows they even had the green light. YELD TO FIRE PEOPLE!!!
Yet, you gotta wonder... it's the same fire fighter who later in the day had a cut on the brow from working a routine MVA, because he didn't have his helmet on. Maybe - just MAYBE - Capt. Helwick should consider him for a response and scene safety course...
College Silverstacker cool show
It’s yield
@@QemeH the helmet would have not helped him cause it was his eyebrow he cut and the helmet only covers part of the forehead
at around 11:00 you can feel the emotion from Jamal..wow he expressed what we all feel, just trying to help our community.
E Vass That's my son! I am SO proud of him. #DFDHeros
"We all feel" hmmmm
“ today I’m gonna be the driver, so if we get a call that’s where I’m gonna be today”.............not anymore 😂

A truly inspiring video!
That second reserve truck looked awesome
Nice
I agree with Capt. Helwick
Hey my home city 👍🏻😀
Can you make more of these???
When is the next video? I want more!
James Burton ‘‘this in the last ones
I wish I could meet the people on this fire dept. So I can thank them in person for what they do every day
What i found online is that the tow truck ran a red light.. Fire had the right away
SportDogg2008 You can see in the video that the truck had the green light
Such a good show! Funny as well!
I hope the fire station 26 does another eposed. And they are hero's in my voom
That person can't spell they should of said they are hero's
I meant to say they are hero's in my book
The Series is over
Code 9 is actually code 2 and code 10 is actually code 3
Thekiller7897 no it does not
Thekiller7897 the state actually
That's where you are. Here in NYC we go lights and sirens or no lights and sirens depending on the call and what due company we are automatically. If we're lights and sirens the code we get to run into the box modified is 10-20.
Thats life in the Mile HIGH city XD
It’s different
I wish they make more episodes
Me love this show
Think of all the paper work that need done after that accident with ladder 26
Ninjaparatrooper - yes, and us the police have to do all of it! Ohhhhhhh😝
@@devgru8197 at least your useful for something
@@private2102 no need for that, man.
it's a reserve. all good lmao
How many reserves do they have?
That was a dark ass "WOOO OH OH OH OH OH OH"
the fire truck had the green light ,looks like to me
Did he call the jaws the tnt tool?
FiremanJuls I believe they're made by a company called TNT rescue
Why do they have a dumptruck in the staition
mr leprechaun just in case
Usually for large amounts of sand for oil spills in major MVAs, etc
Some depts also use them as a blocker to protect the scene at Mvas as a sort of expendable asset rather than sacrificing a firefighting vehicle in the event that someone drives into the back of the scene
This hole place has gone to shit
Its a dam snow plow, what that snow plow is at a fire station I don’t know its Denver they are crazy there
No it’s the last episode noooooo😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭😭
this is why you fricken stop at an intersection if you hear sirens, even if its green
Alexanders Alarms The tow truck had the red light, you can see the fire truck crew had the green light
exactly
Everyone talks about Engine and Ladder 26, But are we not gonna talk about the dump truck and trailer just taking up a bay?
DPW stores a dump truck at the station?
Do the rookies have to pay for the groceries
Ralph Daniel all firefighters pay for food OK.
Lyte Force 26 D.F.D.
Just a random question what is the age limit as in oldest too join too be probationary firefihter?

casually sat down across the pond in England, where you don't have to yield to emergency vehicles which is stupid :| Should always yield, Plus US Fire Departments are just cooler in general as well
I don’t want that tow truck driver coming to get my vehicle.
How did this happen?
my company has the battery operated ones
Michael Hamilton We have both battery operated and hydraulic ones. Recently we had to use both sets on a bad MVA
Be nice to her....that's your next Fire Chief.....
You cant tell me the officer of the truck looks like the guy from supertroopers
I just realized. The Truck 26 crew got into an accident in the lender truck. LOL!!!
Why do thy have a dump truck in one of the bays
Thescootergamer possibly for damage clearing at a structure fire after it is extinguished, not sure though
That is HAMER 3
How do you miss a fire truck, maybe they should paint it RED.
Regardless, the tow truck driver ran a red light
The one time Glenn gets behind the wheel, they crash, just his luck, later in the video they operate on a wreck and he cuts his head. It’s just not his day on this shift...😑

my dad almost died in the fire department
Huh...well that took about a min to pull that card!
Color neutral
This is why some apparatus drivers stop at Green lights
Idiots that don’t listen to the sirens need to stop driving or more things like this will happen
Always yeild to emergany veihcals

lol no offense but the Denver firefighters look like complete scrubs compared to the firefighters here in Los Angeles.

Albert Ledesma how was he a terrible driver in the crash. He didn't appear to be speeding. Looks like the other truck wasn't paying attention at all!
He also sounded the air horn as he entered the intersection.
Leave it to the black guy to bring race into it

macchirpy Ehm no, actually a lot of them are severly injured. Greetings from a German firefighter working a lot on the highway.
