- Join me on a ride along with Fort Worth, Texas Fire Department at "The Big House" located at 1000 Cherry Street Downtown. The firehouse was built in 1930 and features Zigzag Moderne Style of the Art Deco era. Originally serving as fire headquarters, Station 2 is now home to a Battalion Chief, Engine, Truck and Squad Company with 13 total personnel.
That tone is uh... peculiar
Not gonna lie… It’s uncomfortable to wake up to.
@@WorkingFirePIOThere’s a few lol
That’s sounds like start trek show
That is 1 of 3 tones we have. That one is definitely the most annoying.
Montreal FD’s Tones are >
Prove me wrong 😊
Found my love for the fire service sitting outside of The Big House every Saturday night with my mom and dad in the early 2000s. We used to sit across the street in the bank lot and watch for an hour or 2 waiting for them to respond. My dad was a retired cop and new a couple ffs at 2s. Chief Tim Hatch came out one night and greeted us, asked us to come inside and check it out. Got to ride around the block in the officer seat of Truck 2 while my dad rode backwards behind me. Dad said he instantly regretted it when we made the right and then left out of the station. Core memory that sent me on my way to the career I have now.
I think a ton of us little fellas had the same experience...or watched EMERGENCY!
Come back and see us!
As a wheelchair-dependent person myself I know the feeling of that poor guy with the dead chair batteries because I've had to actually call 911 for a similar situation.
It's a situation I hadn't ever thought of until that moment. It's bad enough on a warm night, but certainly life threatening in worse weather conditions. This person said it would take about 30 minutes to get enough battery charge to get home, which must have seemed like an eternity.
Beautiful fire station
mann glad to see my city out there specially with the nice fleets they have !!
Lived in Fort Worth my whole life (most across from FWFD station 26) and passed by station 2 hundreds, if not thousands of times. So very neat! Thanks for the ride along.
Janno seems to very knowledgeable of the city, station and Fd. Except way to educate the public as to what really happens within a Fd. Thank you Eric!🇺🇸
Thank you!
The game at the end for kitchen duties is funny
Definitely the funniest and most intense station chore game I've ever witnessed!
Never a fair game when you're top whip!@@WorkingFirePIO
Historical fire stations are so cool! Great video!
They are my absolute favorite. Thanks for watching!
It's a fun place to live!
These videos are great. Love the ride alongs and seeing different departments
Had the pleasure of having Brad as an instructor at TEEX last year. What a wealth of knowledge and incredible asset to the FWFD!
Love the videos. Keep them coming I can watch for hours
Much respect to those men. Thanks for the video.
As a fellow firefighter I really appreciate your videos. They give a lot of insight to departments around the nation. Coming from a small town with not much action most days, it can intensify pretty quickly. It’s nice to see other stations working! Keep ‘em coming
hero
Thanks for watching!
Wow! Wish I knew you were down here!!! North Texas is home for me....Instant my FR career as a volunteer in Roanoke Texas.
Thank you so very much for your service as a Firefighter. Your hard work and dedication is outstanding. May God always keep you safe and healthy where ever you go
Love the Tone out! Red Alert Warning from Star Trek! Anyway, AWESOME VIDEO! Loved every second of it. Glad you did not Have to slide the pole while half asleep! We had a guy visit our firehouse YEARS ago, early to mid 90’s, was not used to sliding the pole and tried in the middle of the night half asleep. He was fine, just did not grip the pole right and wrap his legs the way he should have. He had a hard landing and ended up on his pride. AKA, butt. Please keep these AMAZING VIDEOS coming!!!!!
Thanks for watching!! Why is gravity so much stronger at night? 😆
Doing there jobs taking care of business let's stop and honor and appreciate the paramedics and firemen who proudly serve us your service and time and efforts are deeply appreciated great job great catches as usual still going strong great looking tower very impressed way to go you guys rock thanks ! Thank you Eric keep up the good work I miss you kim Connor and Lauren your friend in Springfield Missouri kyle
It’s been a while since I’ve been in Fort Worth, but I used to always try to detour to downtown and go by Station 2 as it is just an awesome building. Thanks for the video!!
Come back soon and say hi!
It would be awesome to see Houston fire Station 51 or 68s
Awesome video! great quality.
Another great video!!
Thanks for your video Eric. After 25 years on the FWFD and maybe 10 shifts spent at station 2 i still learned a few things.

Awesome man. You should hit up Dallas if you're still down there. Some great guys and a busy department
Facts dallas is awesome
Dallas should definitely be on the list!
Great video! I like the color of FWFD rigs.
Me too! There's just something about that white and blue combo with the steer horns.
Thank you!
great video Eric
Amazing Eric!
Many blessing to you all thank you for your service
Another AWESOME video Eric!! Really have been enjoying these. They are a perfect length and you do a great job “interviewing” the member/s. Always feel like “I’m there.” Keep up the outstanding work! Thanks man
Thank you so much!
@@WorkingFirePIO You’re very welcome.
It was great having Eric here! Hope he comes back soon!
Cool video been to FWFD Station 2 & it's always seeing something new
This is really cool to see. I am in Fort Worth Tx!
Great video coverage!
Excellent Video!!!
Loving these videos! I really like their white/blue color scheme, very unique.
That was awesome. Thanks!!
awesome eric! love the video of smfr in fort worth texas, where i live and my home town
I’m really surprised they haven’t updated the dorms with sleeping pods yet like so many other departments have considering the mixed company now.
They need to find a firefighter thats a history buff and get them to go through that attic and go through and archive all that history.
Let’s gooo! Love these!!
Great video!! Well done.
One of the only fire stations Ive seen with a fire pol. Cool!
Great video. Hope you get to Austin some day.
Good stuff!
Rescue 2 responded to all three of my downtown accidents. People if you have cataracts get them removed! I haven't had any accidents since I did!
Nice video Eric!
Awesome video
Ayeee this , my hometown lets gooo. My pops just retired from FWFD love y'all
Good editing Eric. Keep it up.
Awesome station and crew. They need some less abrasive tones to wake up to along with some night adapted lighting. Plenty of research shows the detriment of startling alerts. Cant wait for the next episode!
I need to learn that game they did. Looks like fun
My great uncle, Jerry Hood, was a captain at FWFD. He was an inspiration and role model to me and the man who made me become a FF also.
What a beautiful house
Another couple tidbits; the gym area use to be the old truck shop, and if you go to the back parking lot near the entrance gate you can see metal squares in the ground that use to hold the poles for the safety nets for the old drill tower.
I love and miss the old fire station environment and feel!!!
Love the history component of Station 2, "The Big House"....AWESOME!
It's a great place! Come see us sometime!
We also have the bomb squad at Las Vegas Fire and Rescue.
❤ awesome ❤
Another amazing video! Its awesome to see you in Texas! In my territory 😆 Take care!
Interesting to hear Jano speaking in a heavy Pittsburghese accent in Fort Worth, TX!
Ha! Thank you...I think...
I love this and as a Retired So Cal Firefighter ... So many great memories of the camaraderie and traditions for "who is in the tank" for Dishes. I can't stop laughing at "Brad" the cook! love that guy ..everyone has a Brad
Hey buddy you’ve probably already thought of or planned it but a Dallas FD visit would be awesome as well.🧑🚒🇺🇸
I love how the station alert call is the Star Trek Enterprise battle station alarm!
Well those tones are gonna take a toll on their hearts
33 years in the fire service and we had a Claxton bell that was ruff on the heart ! Before retired they changed the tones a much more Easier and light sound to let you know you had a call
very good
Bummer! Ft. Worth Fire looks like a spiffy dept. Apparatus that have Q2bs but appears to never use their Q2bs. lol ! (bty, superb podcasts. Subbed and thanks!
That bell is so cool!!
Glad you enjoyed!
awesome bell since 1883.nice fire station (forth worth fire station)

Allen Texas has a big fire station. Their central station has a training tower and such. It’s pretty cool
Love it as always....only hoping you got BBQ at Hard Eight or Cooper's while there in Ft. Worth!
Way to represent Chief Davis and the rest of your department!
God Bless my Brothers and Sister's, Retired Firefighter
Glad to see fireman mustaches are making a comeback.
Thank you for your service, and I love if I may, how the house alarm or the station alarm sounds like something from star wars. Sorry not trying to make fun of a video that's supposed to be serious, but I couldn't help but notice that lol
pretty cool vid and i didn’t know the correlation of towers
Come to Sacramento Fire Department and ride along at Station 4 MidTown Sacramento. Oldest operating fire house west of the Mississippi. Built in 1933! They ran 41 calls in just 28 hours yesterday and part of today. Still have 20 hours left of the shift. Typical call volume for that station. Sacramento, California. Love your videos!
Thanks for the great suggestion! The left coast is definitely on my list of places to ride along.
And great video @WorkingFirePIO!
I can smell the freedom out of these trucks
I wonder if someone at that particular station is a Star Trek fan because that alarm tone is very distinctly the Star Trek Red Alert sound.
Sweet
Try Oklahoma City! Would love to see that video.
Thanks for the upload buddy! Love your channel and content and you should do Oklahoma City FD if you ever get the chance!🇺🇸🧑🚒❤️⭐️🎉
I talked with OKC pre-covid and had a great storytelling opportunity lined up. I'll be pursing it again in 2024.
@@WorkingFirePIO awesome sounds good great content much love and appreciation for the channel! Keep up the great work. Maybe even reach out to Charlotte NC Fire Department if you get the chance great department!🇺🇸🧑🚒⭐️
Keep up the good work!! Love the videos! Let me know if your ever in California and maybe you can swing by my department !
One of only 2 stations left in the city with fire poles.
Gotta give Eric credit out here making these videos and pio videos by the way eric still waiting on that pio10 new car 😉
You have to visit the Jim Bolen Public Safety Center in Fort Worth. It’s a massive training complex for the police and fire departments. It’s pretty new and definitely worth a visit. The police side is fantastic but I haven’t seen the fire side
Awesome guys from a retired Indianapolis 🔥 fighter be everyone be safe please
I spend a couple hours there and you're right, it is fantastic! The fire side is impressive.
Intresting tone
Eric awesome content! I know that this venture comes second to work at SM but have you considered heading to the East coast? There’s lots of hard charging northeast departments that I’m sure would love to have you
Love the videos Eric and could you do a volunteer ride along
I have reached out to a couple volunteer fire departments to feature.
@@WorkingFirePIOI’d love to have you down here in Nebraska :)
@@brunner2136 I appreciate that! I actually reached out to Lincoln and Omaha but haven't received replies.
@@WorkingFirePIO If your ever thinking about any volunteer departments in Nebraska I can get you some information. I can provide my email if you want.
