To this day, I still have extreme difficulty accepting any sort of compliment, but I've learned that by excessively downplaying it, you're not so much "showing humility," but rather just making the person who complimented you look foolish. The fact that I was too self-absorbed to realize this was obviously quite problematic for most of my youth. You know, it would actually be pretty cool if John read the Bhagavad Gita one day, considering how its absolutely mind-fcuking spiritual imagery inform some of his favorite stuff in Japanese media. Like, Gut's nightmarish Berserk Beast imagery is just a cute little puppy next to the Bhagavad Gita's infinite flaming vortices of flesh, eyeballs, and fangs... which were clearly referenced by Miura (RIP).

Like, people seem to reference/appropriate it without ever noting India as the source (and instead conceptualize it all as some abstract "ancient Asian" mythos). I sense that part of it was India's colonial history, that (forcibly) brought it closer to the West and made it less "oriental" than, say, China or Japan. Perhaps that's why well-educated white dudes from the early 20th century were able to quote Bhagavad Gita, as opposed to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms or Tales of the Genji. And familiarity tends to erase distinctions.
I'm just gonna put this out there but you can find Copies of the Bhagavad-Gita pretty easily in most Bookstores. Like yes, it's a VERY ancient story but it's not like some scrolls in a museum like you can literally just go read it.

If I had a buckle for every time loop game that regulareyepatchwolf played this year I'd have 2 nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice...... Also do you like time loops, psychological trauma, 20 hour jrpgs good pixel art, with aspects of mother, undertale and Delta rune. Play in stars and time it's bundled with slay the princess so you know it's good.
