John's right guys, this art needs to start hyping him up! For example, we need art of him at the strip club where he stands up on a chair, PROUDLY and CONFIDENTLY announcing to the entire strip club "I have a wife and we play PlayStation together!", while an Irish Catholic Priest is giving John a huge thumbs up in the background
@Haruharuharuko1942 his stand power he gained in exstrange for beating omikron. He has the power to make people play omikron, the stand neme is ironically named sweet dreams.

OH MY GOD. I watched a playthrough of Illbleed in back in 2017/2018 and last night I had a random brainworm, remembered everything about it but the name. I tried so hard to remember it so I could recommend it on stream. I never knew this vod existed. I’ve never felt so connected to you, Final Gamer.
So, the brick one, which I've never seen before, does actual damage. The falling board/guillotine one doesn't actually do damage or at least does so little bleeding that you are basically guaranteed to be able to ignore it.
really hope you play more of this game, even if it's a nightmare to do so, because there's some utterly hysterical stuff in it. Would def recommend looking into advice on how to better get though it though because boy is it needed for this game.
Easily my favorite Dreamcast title. TERRIBLY designed of course, but unforgettable. *Edit* Having finished the video, I'm now remembering just HOW badly designed it was not just in terms of the basic stuff like janky controls or the unintuitive gameplay loop (READ THE MANUAL OR SUFFER) but the campaign as a whole. The entire campaign lacks any structure such that the character you unlock at the end of each level is perfectly suited to the level you JUST beat (and therefore have no reason to revisit) and absolutely the WORST character to use for the next level.... so if you want to play the new character you just unlocked, prepare to get mulched. It effectively forces you to just play and upgrade Eriko the entire playthrough and ignore every other playable character. Additionally, tons of the best content of the game are the jump scares themselves with some goofy, hilarious nonsense all over the place and the entire gameplay loop revolves around.... avoiding them... Don't get me wrong, I still love it, but there's a reason I used the word "unforgettable" instead of a more overtly positive descriptor.
Tbh I don’t agree about the “the unlockable characters are good for the last level you beat” cause they all have the problem where at the start of combat they are on the ground crawling around until you get an item in a level that stops that. Meanwhile eriko starts every fight getting up immediately so she’s the best character from the get go.
@@welcometowallys8158 Oh damn, I had actually forgotten that mechanic EXISTS because I stopped bothering trying to use anyone else not even partway through my very first playthrough. Literally only further exacerbates the problem that she's the only viable option for every level.
I think that the idea behind the other characters is that they are for doing a corpse run to rescue Eriko when she dies. I feel like you're meant to use them to grind the other levels and practice the game so that you can then upgrade them to the point where they are suitable for rescuing Eriko by completing the level you just died on. It's like a weird proto-Dark Souls system where the game gets more difficult when you lose and you're forced to finish the level with a weaker character in order to get back to full strength.
"Hall of Resentment" Oh sign me up for THAT one! Also the experience is called "The Homerun of Death!" so naturally the killer in this section is based on.... fire.
His entire thing is about wanting to play catch with his dead son who died in a fire whilst the two of them were somehow practicing baseball in a basement. The level is about collecting Jimmy's baseball equipment in order to lure him out. If we're going to be calling out inconsistencies maybe we should be focused on the idea of playing baseball below ground level in an enclosed space.
I watched your video on fake video games the other day and recognized the scare chord sound effect from this game that you used a few times. I wondered if you knew about this game or just came across that sound effect on its own and used it because it sounded neat. Really awesome to see you know about this weird ass game, haha! It has a special place in my heart.
anyone else notice the one hundred million dollars was actually 100,00,000 missing a 0 in the middle. seems like a mild gamer move if i do say so myself * tips 1800 top hat **laughs through pipe
For what its worth, I have a real Dreamcast in my living room that i can play with a brand new Xbox Core Controller with a Brooks Adapter. The adapters Brooks have are amazingly awesome. Works on Saturn too, and they make them for other old consoles. Plus DC has VGA out so low latency video isnt hard, tho i use a VGA CRT cuz im insane lol
... So, could someone explain to me the uh... healthbars, I guess? THere seems to be a lot of ways of dying in this game. And I don't really understand most of it. So if anyone has that illbleed knowledge!
If you're still confused about the gameplay, I find that it's best to think about it like an experimental RPG Maker game that got remade in 3D The traps are a mixture of hidden items, random encounters and jumpscares. And the horror monitor is used to avoid being caught out and taking damage. Fights are instanced RPG battles with real time combat. The dodge is always invincible. Prize money is also the equivalent of XP and can be spent on character upgrades between levels. Saving the other characters gives you extra lives, so if you finish the level with them you can get Eriko back after she dies. They are however much weaker and less competent than her at dealing with the enemies and traps. The different gauges and UI elements are for identifying where the hazards are and for keeping an eye on the various status effects, such as bleeding, and your resources for using the horror monitor. If the Bleeding, or Heart Rate meters exceed their respective thresholds, or you run out of HP, then you die and need to be rescued. Anything else beyond that varies by level, but the gimmicks are generally pretty well explained. The game also uses one of several different layouts for the different events in order to prevent people from walking past the different triggers and make the levels more replayable for people who want to do NG+ or just grind up their characters (if you get stuck on a level then you can replay earlier levels with the weaker characters in order to make them stronger for the more difficult sections when rescuing Eriko)
It's also worth noting that you can walk around the marked areas, of which some will always be fights, so that they don't trigger so it's not always a good idea to walk into them. You won't get any adrenaline or items, but you definitely won't be attacked. You'll need to guess which ones you think are safe to approach and which need to be walked past, which you are expected to learn by trial and error.
May also be worth going to the shops and buying bandages if they give you money to start the game with. If not, then walking will not affect the bleed gauge but running will slowly fill the bar once it gets past the little notch on the UI. Best way to stop bleeding is to get good at the combat because most enemies will cut you up as you run. You just need to get a feel for the wind up for the different enemy attacks and make sure not to commit to the attack animation if they're about to swing. It's like playing Dark Souls, except your character is on ketamine. Dodge early and keep chaining the dodge until you get the opportunity to get some swings in, then start dodging again because the dodge frames are incredibly generous, but only if you're not stuck in the attack animation because that cannot be cancelled.

What if he wins a beauty contest at the strip club
Quick, draw him missing the fighting game tournament
Oh my god these sections where John works the chat kill me every time. "super crypatch wolf" took me out too, GOATed comment
John's forever war against the bastardization of his image online is definitely one of the best things about these streams
We need to see fanart of john's threat of omikron towards woolie.
Super villain arc
The sword of damomikronles
@Haruharuharuko1942 his stand power he gained in exstrange for beating omikron. He has the power to make people play omikron, the stand neme is ironically named sweet dreams.
LMAO true words
The fact that this game starts with a Goosebumps monologue is so funny

Don't tempt me to develop a spiritual successor. I have a game studio and poor impulse control.
This is the best/most terrifyingly ominous comment I've read on the Internet XD
I'd buy it.
just dont pull a Peter Molyneux ok?

I cant imagine why this game didn't take off, such a compelling gameplay loop and intuitive controls...
That fan art piece looks it used the same angle as the JoJo "So you are approaching me?" panel
I get more hyped when he uploads on this channel than when he does on the main one at this point

If there was an *actually lethal* horror theme park that paid out a hundred million dollars for getting through it, not gonna lie, I'd consider it.

Hearing that same verse of Bonetrousle on repeat during the opening kinda drove me insnae a lil bit.
49:00 Priceless

It's unfortunate the creator of illbleed passed before they could make more games one of them would be a remake remaster for Xbox 😔
it's pretty wild to have this on in the bg and hear nancy drew and sonic the hedgehog casually entering a death game
I saw a lets play of this over 10 years ago that was well edited and funny, it's definitely an unique game.
It's truly bizarre that the more successful you are at the game, the less of it you get to experience.
I remember watching game informer do a full playthrough of this year's ago when Dan was still there. Such a funny bizarre game.
That's Nancy Drew!
The bonetrousle clip playing over and over is making me insane
anyone else notice the one hundred million dollars was actually 100,00,000 missing a 0 in the middle. seems like a mild gamer move if i do say so myself * tips 1800 top hat **laughs through pipe
This game is as insane as I've been led to believe.
Appreciate the edit at 3:08 😂❤
8:00 Kevin Kertsman sounds like Sonic Adventure Sonic.
Same vo
John, I sincerely hope you put together a video on the road to Wrestlemania XL. These promos got me back into WWE.
I remember watching the same lets play of illbleed, I watched it until 3am even though I had a job interview the very next day. I didn't get it.
I like to think all giant ghost hands are actually Andre the Giant reaching in from beyond
Eiriko is also voiced by Adria the Witch/Wirt the Peg-Legged Boy
More of John playing illbleed pls
Illbleed? Hell yeah!
god i love this game
I want to get off of Mr Bonetrousel’s wild ride!

Illbleed playthrough?
I felt like i was the only person who’s ever played this weird ass game
Welcome to the memory game that may end in your untimely doom.
Shallow Eyepatch Wolf strikes again with this video. Thank you Foxcade you keep on making shallowhart looking weak ..... Weak Eyepatch Wolf
Hope manlybadasshero does a playthrough of this game
Anyone know the song at 8:00? I know the answer's no but I've listened to the whole OST twice and I haven't found it. It's so awful and fun I need it
This games great... To watch speedruns of, not really to play.
Is that the same voice actress as for the old Nancy Drew games?? Or do they just have the same inflection/accent.
iMDB says yes

Day 3 of asking for Illbleed (im very happy and got what I wanted)
Hey, you're not Jimmy!
Day 3 of asking for American Mcgee's Alice.
keep going buddy , I believe in you. One day you'll outshine the /tv/ Avatar 2 poster I know
@@ultraheaven8968 That is the plan.
I love foxcades editing, such a bummer we dont get full streams uploaded to youtube. A lot of contents going to be lost media.
