Very, very good. Charlie is a national treasure. As is Spider John. I love your channel. Great information and a great setting. Feels like home. Love it. Keep it up young dude!
Dude I really appreciate that. “Feels like home” has gotta be some of the best feed back a musician who barely knows how to use a camera could get. It was a real fun series to put together! Hopefully I’ll get to do more stuff like this in the future!
so great to see this, for people like me this is gold dust you just don't get much of this on the internet, thanks to everyone involved really enjoyed this series, so true the folk/blues process is strong with Charlie and Spider, im fixing up an old 12 string myself so this is also just inspiration for me to get it done 🙏✊
Only came across Charlie due to your videos, what a fantastic musician. He plays a song on RUclips 817 Oakland Avenue with 2 capos, one is a partial capo. That would make a very interesting lesson.👍 Thank you once again .
Wow! Well glad I could help share his music with you! Yes, the double capo, that would be an incredible video topic. I’ll see what he’s up to next time he gets a break from tour! Thanks for the idea, and thanks for watching!
I love the idea of passing an instrument down to someone else to keep playing as opposed to hermetically sealing in a display case to never be played again.
I think one major inspiration Spider took in odd~ball guitars had to be known associate Big Joe Williams with his rats~nest amplification and nine string guitar.
I own an identical Gretsch, 1956. Do you know if John also modified the interior braces? Those guitars were all ladder braced! Wondering how the 12 string conversion affected the bracing?

I used to live in the Twin Cities & was on Cold Wind Records. Seeing Spider John or K.R.& G was ALWAYS a thrill. Ron Day

You’re welcome glad you got to check out the series!! Yeah man dig in to koerners stuff, it’s a valley wide and deep!
I’m curious about the spelling “GRETSRH” on the headstock. Was that just a factory error?
One can only assume!
I love the idea of passing an instrument down to someone else to keep playing as opposed to hermetically sealing in a display case to never be played again.
I know right! I bet it nice for john to know that this things gotta whole nother life to live! Thanks for watching!

Ha! Dude so true!
What's the song your playing here called?
When first unto this country!
Charlie is a cool cat.

You know I’ve actually never gone under the hood on this one so I’m not sure. If I ever do though I’ll make a point to share about it!
