Austin is alright but can´t compete with Bobby. Bobbys soft voice is outstanding, while Austins is sharp and hard and don´t have Bobbys tenderness, soul, control and range.
Admit it. In years to come you will still get the same feeling every time you hear him.

The Righteous Brothers did this song Righteous! They did it the best of all of the people I have ever heard sing it.

Austin did an amazing job with this song!!! However, with all due respect to Austin (because I too am a "Home-Fry"), in my humble opinion this song will forever be owned by The Righteous Brother: Bobby Hatfield!!!
The Righteous Brothers version is my favorite too, mainly, because Bobby Hatfield is a cousin of my Mom! I do love Austin, no matter what he sings, he’s my favorite too!

This is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and Austin does a magnificent rendition of it.
I listened to Bobby Righteous just before Austins rendition. Still love Bobby's version best hands down IMO, but Austin did an amazing job on this, esp with just 1 other person . I especially liked the guitar accompaniment keeping it simple. It was all FrenchTastic!

I like this cover very much. I wasn't aware of Austin Brown before seeing this performance, but I'll have to check him out. I particularly like that he left the song pretty much intact and didn't try to add too much ornamentation.

You know, the first time I heard Home Free was Man of Constant Sorrow, and truth be told, it was Tim's bass voice I fell in love with. I have never been a big fan of tenors. But in the 3 years since then, I have fallen madly in love with this beautiful young man's golden voice. There is nothing he can't do. Have you heard him try singing opera? Look up Two Country Singers try Singing Opera....Nessun Dorma. He and Rob are amazing. He just gets better every year. God has blessed him with such talent. And I think he was so nice to send you that message. He's such a lovely soul.

Great cover of Unchained Melody! I didn't think anyone could come close to Bobby Hatfield's version.
No one can. He does a good version, but if you notice, he doesn't change any of the rhythms of the song; in essence, he doesn't make it his own. He doesn't "go out on a limb" and change any inflections. It's nice, but Unchained Melody will always be Bobby's song. :-)
@@SweetThing Quite how do you think it's possible to "change the rhythms"?? Did you expect him to turn the song into a polka? Lord alone knows what you mean by "inflections" - as an English teacher for 20 years, I can tell you that there is no meaning of the word that would make sense here.
You also need to realise that this was not a full-blown recording, with all the tools available to a producer to polish the sound. In fact Austin did not intend it for anyone but his patrons, and only his gf's wish to put more content on his channel resulted in it being released. It has had 13 million views, which suggests that not everyone belongs to the Original Is Always Best brigade.
