Such a good line
Straight up
Still can't believe they put a Bloodborne-class character in a Puss in Boots movie.
*And now, you've made a perfect boss theme for him.*
I mean he basically is a bloodborne boss, idk if that was intentional or just coincidental. But his sickles are a trick weapon. We see him fold them into a twinblade and also fold them into a curved punch dagger. He also does give Father Gascoigne vibes, I can see him saying a "beasts all over the shop" line.
Bloodbourne? That's impossible, Death isn't British.
@@solaire2271 so as the players who play it yet here we are...
i don't really understand why BB fans keep making connections out of thin air to call everything they see a fucking "reference", as if it was the origin to any of these concepts.
if anything he has a lot more of a connection to Death from darksiders than literally anything else in Bloodborne. his weapons, his fighting style, yes even the "trick weapon", their moral compass, and literally being Death itself (even this video's thumbnail is striking an identical pose to death's most popular poster artwork)
As a hunter, that would be sick as hell
"I've enjoyed the chase Gato, but I think we've reached the end now, you and I."
-Death the Wolf
I don't think he is a wolf, it's just a chosen form
Death, the furry
@@redactedexpunged I agree. He probably appears different for each person he is mainly after. Some cats fear huge dogs. So he chose a huge wolf for his form.
It might not even be it's real body, it could be an avatar of death that takes the form of a wolf.
@@darthjenkins5219 maybe he's a wolf, since no one can escape the Death since it always tracks everyone no matter how far they go

When you gaze into the abyss. The abyss gazes back. When you laugh at death. Death will either laugh with you, or laugh back. Gaze at its form, and you could be scared for life. But something about death. Can be beautiful. It always depends. On if your next on his list. And if her blade is upon you.
@@samuelst-martin7472 **Fighting noises**
At 1:18 it sounds like Death is whistling back the melody as the orchestra plays behind him
It’s chilling
It was an intentional, classic call-and-response technique
@@johnzachariahg cool!
@@johnzachariahg bro broke the fucking forth wall like he's literally staring at the viewer
I started hearing it on 1:16
1:22 👂
In the movie the melody is 8 measures/beats long
Except in the final fight. When death makes the ring of fire it lasts for 9 beats showing that death is truly there to take puss' 9th life
Edit: just to clarify it's 9 measures from the fire ring to the time death starts talking. The note itself holds for a little longer as someone pointed this out, but death interrupts the music at exactly 9 measures. Coincidence? I think not
Good ear.
Idk I think this is a stretch, there's no doubt that it's longer when he makes the ring of fire but the last note holds longer than 9 measures so I think it's the same 8 measure sentence but it hangs onto the last note longer. Source: I just studied both scenes
I had no idea. I love little stuff like this.
@@satirical140 the thing is the wolf starts talking at exactly the 9th measure. it transitions from the music to dialogue in 9 measures
You can double check. I hope I'm not wrong if I am thx for checking

I didn't even know it was possible to make an epic version of his whistle.

@@johnzachariahg During the fight scene at the end! I noticed that too!
VGOScore made Nyan Cat into a pleasant sounding circus rodeo. Never underestimate what can be done with music.
If last wish ever becomes a game. THIS would be final boss
So much of the movie felt like it could fit PERFECTLY in a video game. The game designs itself, especially down to the boss fights. Get onto it Dreamworks! It's easy money!
Nah man. Jack Horner would more likely be the final boss. This would be more like the penultimate boss just before Jack... Unless you would consider Jack a post-final boss.
@Zerukin I guess but death as the final boss be way better in my opinion
Omg a game where u can explore the maps of the Dark Forest in the hands of each character and what would happen if each of them get the wish
@@ryhi5 the only issue is that death would have to be an undefeatable boss, with the battle simply being a battle of attrition. And honestly, that would be amazing, if they can get the AI to work properly. It needs to actually be terrifying, which means there can’t be any AI screw ups, potential for cheesing, or glitches.
And that’s incredibly hard to do and I don’t think a licensed game would have the budget to pull it off. If they did actually do it tho, I feel like the movie’s popularity would make the game into a best seller
Makes him sound like a souls game boss and I love it
He does kinda look like Blaidd
First phase/fight he's named El Lobo, the second La Muerte
why this song sounds kinda similar to an ark boss theme
It's kinda ironic when you think about it
The Secret Boss.
One of my favorite details is that every time he whistles it it’s in the same key, except the last time when he lets Puss live his life and it goes up in key
3:22 the whistle fading with a lot of reverb reminds me of when death disappears after the final battle, you can still hear the whistle fading out as a reminder for puss that they will meet again.
SOOOO DEYAMMMM BADASSSSSSSSS

That is just plain awesome and hilarious.

Bet that speech filled your coworkers with the strength to conquer the world. :]
“I fear no man. But that *whistle…*
it scares me”
"What's the matter? Lives flashing before you eyes? Pick it up. PICK. IT. UP." the orchestra is amazing!
My opinion about the whistle represents a sense of dread, an unknown force that whispers “I’m coming for you” something that seems quite forgotten by so many people that death is always near, always waiting till it’s your time
You know what they say, when it's time, we all hear death coming.
Lobo: *whistling
Kratos: *stares back You can have me, when you earned me.

If the god of death can die, then is he truly death?...
@@zZParabellumZz he's simply a god of death but not death itself like the grim reaper who in Christianity lore it can be destroyed by god who Is it's creator who made life as well so to put it lightly a god is not a pure representation of their element but the reaper is so yes a god of death could die but the physical embodiment of death can not be felled

No promises.
@@arian512 Pups isn't even his actual form, when he gets truly serious then that's where the character would go from Pups, to *MUTTS.*
2:58, Subtle reference to the melody of the Dies Irae, commonly used in film scores to symbolize death, doom, and danger. Nice!
Every time the Wolf was on the screen, I wanted to scream and point at the screen due to how epic this character was. And now, you have made it even more epic
This theme just says what would happen if Puss lost that final battle.
This is what puss hears when he made the wish in front of Death.
"So, you tried to cheat death, huh?"
and they both stay in the ring of fire, with puss unable to leave and death killing puss 9 more times.
Alternate universe.
But i think he kills him 8 times , and leave him to again on predicament while terrorizing him by saying last one will be most brutual , and give him short life of PTSD.
only fair since death tries to cheat too
I don't know if they said it already, but Death's whistle is similar of those old tunes from hunters characters. You know, like, the typical tune they whistle when they go out for hunting.
He made it creepier, and now you come here and make it MORE EPIC. Just... Wow.
A round of applause won't be enough to congratulate you, but, there you go: 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
So glad you made this one! The soundtrack for this movie is beautiful and it's awesome to hear your take on it!
As much as I doubted this remakes, I love it. Death’s whistle seperated him from really any other character I’ve seen, being he has such a simple, yet terrifyingly unique theme. I think it being a whistle only produces a different stronger response for many people, however I think this remake does justice to his general presence to puss.
This theme was really put in the rematch of Puss and Death. It was the most epic fight tho
1:51 is more than just epic it’s amazing straight up
I agree, that part is so amazing! I can imagine if this would play in a movie, during that part something dramatic would be revealed.
@@InfamousMustelidagreed
This is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. This really sounds like a final showdown with death is about to happen...
what an intimidating villain for such a light hearted franchise
Between the artwork, the particle effect, and the music itself, perfect. Nails the vibe they went for with Death, as well as the character and concept itself.
Death's whistle sounds like something that you would actually hear when dying, or being close to death, as a reminder that you can only prolong the inevitable.
Long Live the Empire
Honestly… seeing him vs beerus would be cool. A big wolf vs a big cat. Both aren’t judges but do have duties to kill those who’s times are inevitably up.
It reminds me so much of Hans Zimmer working on Pirates of the Caribbean and I love it :D
This was actually inspired by Hans Zimmer’s Inception!
@@johnzachariahg I could tell XD
I get goosebumps and chills everytime I hear that motif
The last whistle made me feel like death got what he wants and slowly going away from the battlefield
" Nobody can escape from death "
when he said "you really gotta stop losing that" the way he said it was insane
read this as you listen to it:
0:00 you're running from your enemy in the woods, but suddenly, you hear death's wishtle and you're now terrified.
0:18 slowly, you look back, and you see death from afar and you both stare at each other, now you're even more terrified.
0:33 you start running.
0:47 you start seeing death's shadow everywhere, but you keep running
1:18 you hide behind a huge rock, but you start to hear death whistling a new melody, coming closer
1:50 suddenly, someone atacks you. It's your enemy. you barely dodge the atack, but he keeps coming, you draw your sword and you fight.
2:05 you hit your enemy, he falls, he's bleeding. But then, you see death on top of the rock, your enemy smiles: "look who's come for you". death descends. You turn to your enemy and say: "it's not after me"
2:20 death is now staring at your enemy. he realises it, and stares back, terrified.
2:35 he gets up with a lot of effort and starts running, desperate, but he's too slow.
2:43 death dashes in his direction agressively.
2:50 death takes his life. You don't wanna look.
3:00 death turns back and slowly moves towards you. Bravely, you say: "take me if you shall, but i'll not run anymore."
3:05 death's getting closer and closer. You're afraid, but you won't run.
3:18 death is right in front of you. You close your eyes.
3:27 death whistles, as it slowly goes away. It's not yet your time.
The wolf has a total of 4:15 seconds of screen time in a 1 hour and 45 min movie. Let that sink in…
There's even a theme for this guy!?! Awesome!
YES! Puss in boots was so good!
This film is just Pablo Escobar's fursona going after Zoro's fursona with anxiety
I always love the personification of death. Sandman and Discworld instantly come to mind.
I could see this theme being used if Death was characterized to be like the Lich from Adventure time, wanting to use the last wish to cause all life to be extinguished
He is literally the most intimidating villain with a theme that makes the hairs on your arms Stand up
because his not fiction, death is vary real and comes for all of us.
Wolf and his whistle makes me feel goosebumps 🥶🥶
A lil fun fact: They’ve actually got a musical version of the whistle in the movie. In the scene where Puss is hiding in the bathroom, an instrumental version of the whistle plays.
This is so amazing it's a whole different feeling with headphones
I got goosebumps it's awesome :00

You sir, have earned a subscription. This hits my very soul. VERY well done.
Just saw the film today and Death has to be the best villain of the franchise. No comical attributes or twist on fairy tale archetypes. Just a inescapable spectre that always feels one step behind you
I made my own saying, here is how it goes: "Death knocks on the door... Who said I had to open it?"
Puss in Boots laughs in the face of Death
Death: hold my whistle
“Pick. It. Up.”
Whats the matter? Lives flashing before your eyes?
Any chance this'll come on Spotify?
“Where is the great and fearless hero? Where is the great and fearless hero?”
I think the reason why Death chose to appear as a wolf is because canines and felines are natural enemies. If it were any other character, say, Po from Kung Fu Panda, he probably would've chosen an animal that can maul a panda, like a lion for example
I just realized why Death seems so familiar, at least to me, and that's because he has a very Dark Souls-y aesthetic about him.
The "theme" is a legend death whistle wich means death is coming for you or its near
Still waiting for Samuel Kim to do His Version....

This makes the Wolf a whole lot bigger and badder.
Perfect music to fight a nightwalker too

I remember my first playthrough of Majora's Mask. When you are on a quest as a kid. But death shows up in many forms and it's a jump start into your adulthood. Death never asks to enter you life. He just does.
