They do it all year long, then make 10000-14000 mile return trips on the run when i see them. when i say "them" i don't mean 1 couple, i'm talking about dozens of people and their setups.

      It surprises me more that the majority are on mud terrains, and the few that weren't that stupid are only running all seasons. I know they're allowed to change tires between events, so why no slicks or at least DR's in the tow? Watch, I'd be willing to bet for the drag race the majority will still be running M/T's and just completely blow all 4 off and maybe even cause an accident. Smh. But yes, I also agree.. lockers should be top priority, so at least 3 out of the 4 M/T or A/T's are contributing instead of just two.

    • @matt25001149
      @matt25001149 5 лет назад +8

      they only get one set of tires for the whole event so they'd lose awfully on the dirt sled pull if they had slicks or DR

    • @MrFredboy
      @MrFredboy 5 лет назад

      Did they change the rules in the last year? I could've sworn they were allowed one set of tires for the dirt section and another for all of the dyno/pavement parts last year. Either way though, the ones using mud terrains made a bad choice for any of the parts. Heavier, more drag even on a dyno, just dig ruts in hard packed dirt, and typically have a really hard rubber compound so not going to hook for anything on pavement.

    Using nitrous? Doesn’t that defeat the real power of a Diesel engine? That’s like using steroids. It’s not natural power from the engine.

    Maybe they do, but I'd investigate having some drag strip rubber on those tires! I'd think somebody would be up for doing performance retreads with whatever flavor of drag rubber you'd like to try and maybe a hint of tread to get by driving it on the street if you need to.

    • @kimjones308

      the black smoke you see out of a diesel truck is partially burned fuel, people that build trucks for all out power don't care about wasting fuel and want to be sure they have enough fuel in the cylinder to get all the combustion they can using up all the air.

    • @buckbundy8642

      When you are running that much boost and cylinder pressure there is always a possibility of detonation. The extra fuel helps cool they cylinder, reduces any lean condition possibilities, and ensures all that extra air in the cylinder is used.
      And the black you see is soot which falls to the ground. It doesn’t float up into the atmosphere like the douche above can’t seem to understand.
