Big New River Smallmouth Bass

My dad and I take a trip up to the new river in Virginia in hopes of catching some big smallmouth bass. We spend the night and fish the next day as well. Hope you enjoy and I wish you all the best!

Love fishing this part of the new river...25 yrs ago I took my first trip here and wadded across the river to Mccoy. Using a smokin silver super fluke I probably caught 30 to 40 smallies.and most of them were healthy fish and in the current making long cast it was always exciting when I had a fish on..great video looking forward to seeing more

I know this young man very well and he could catch fish in a mud puddle. We went on a float trip a couple years ago and he caught a muskie on the first cast, this was from the shore waiting for the guide to launch the raft.

This is not actually a ramp. Just a gravel bank on the river. But this stretch of river is up in Radford VA.

just a guy that grew up where youre at.... i wouldnt wear waders. if you step off a shelf they fill with water and you sink like a stone. buried a few ppl just cause they had on waders

Caught my personal best at this very spot about 30 years ago. 4# 14oz. The only smallmouth I ever kept and mounted.
