- A desperate mom was filmed as she dropped to her knees when a cruise ship left her and her husband behind while their three children were on board. The 4,000-passenger ship was dockside preparing to depart for New York when the woman's husband noticed she was missing. He was driven away in a buggy to look for her, leaving their three children on board. Minutes later, the ship's horn blew as it sailed off. The couple tried racing back to the ship but it was too late. #InsideEdition

@@doge8825 ....actually there is a way they can do that but it's incredibly rare the cruise would pursue such a cumbersome payment method against the passenger(s) because usually the passenger(s) left behind or disruptive often try to sue them instead so they don't have to take the step when it's done for them in a different way.

I am 2 hours before my flights, interviews (sometimes or 1 hr) and if I ever go on a cruise I would be there 2 hrs before. Always women .

It's not heart breaking, it's another "Karen" being extra Karen. When they say "we depart at 5pm" they mean 5pm. A cruise ship with 5000 people on board does not wait for you, you aren't that important. The kids were with family, even if not, they can't exactly go far it's a cruise ship and the cruise line would have made sure they were supervised. The fact they waited 30 extra minutes for you is beyond nice. Hopefully Norwegian banned those crappy people from ever taking a cruise with them again.

Was on a cruise once and one passenger was late getting back to the boat. Captain had us line the rail and start applauding as she came strolling down the dock. The look on her face when she finally realized what was happening was priceless.

I would hardly call someone sauntering down a dock in Monaco, swinging her shopping bag without a care in the world while inconveniencing more than 200 other human beings, “down”. Being considerate of other people is basic human decency and she needed to be reminded of it. Nobody was genuinely angry and we all had a laugh, her included.

Yep. I have been on many cruises, and you really have to be stupid and entitled to think the boat will wait or come back for you. Of the dozen cruises I have been on in my life, I have only seen this happen once in person. It was in Grand Cayman. I just thought "Well, I hope they have their passports, cuz they're flying home." Can't imagine that would be cheap from Grand Cayman.

BRAKFAST Cop., they could have dropped one of their small boats to go back, pick them up, and then caught back up with the cruise ship. It’s a bit of a tricky procedure, but any ship that large is required by the US Coast Guard to be able to perform it.

Exactly. Not to mention they need permission from the harbourmaster/relevant authorities, boats & crew ready to run out & get mooring lines, etc... sometimes even a tug assist. Sometimes the channel into/out of ports isn't even wide enough to just do a 180. It's never going to be a simple u-turn & pull up to the curb.

Missing ships movement at anytime is a very serious offense in the Navy. People don't understand the amount of money and planning it takes just for a smaller Naval ship to get underway. You have to pay tugs and a pilot to guide the ship out. Not to mention having to merge with shipping until you get into open waters. I can't imagine all the different complications a cruise ship actually has to go thru. i.e customs and such if in a foreign port.

I’ve been on 8 cruises. The captain and the ship announce a million times what time to get back to the ship. The ship can be fined hundreds of thousands of dollars for not leaving on time or arriving late to the next dock, so yes, you will be left behind. It is irresponsible to get back so late to the ship.

Captain: "We held the ship an extra 30 minutes for you."
Late Mother: "Oh, thank you!"

Honestly the fact that the kids were with the uncle makes this extremely fine in my books. Stayed safe with family and probably had a good time on the cruise. Momma shoulda hurried up.
Same. If there was no other accompanying adult on board, then yes they should have turend back (but why would you löeave your kids alone on the ship anyways). But with the uncle on board its fine in my books. Annoying for the parents, but still fine as the kids were supervised.
Pls I wouldn’t trust the uncle though imagine if they had idk some drinks stuff like giving beer and what if the uncle would’ve got drunk and fell overboard what would happen then- or what if the uncle didn’t give a damn care in the world about them but acted like he did-

@@ChokolateCP03 dont get me wrong it sucks for the kids. But it’s way better that they had someone they knew on board rather than being stuck with the crew members they’ve never met. The parents messed up and thankfully the kids had a familiar face to stay with.
