John Gambling - imposter #2 in the third game - was the second member of his family to host the "Rambling With Gambling" radio program on station WOR in New York. His father John B. Gambling started the program in 1925. He took over in 1959 and stayed with the program until 1991 when his son John R. Gambling took over. The show finally ended in 2013 after nearly 90 years on the air, most of it on WOR (save a period between 2000 and 2006 on WABC-AM)
Millions of New Yorkers woke up to the Gamblings over the years. When I was a kid in the 60s I remember this show as I got ready for school.

As I recall, the second John Gambling's middle initial was A. And I am pretty sure the third John Gambling did not name any of his sons "John".
I certainly recognized the voice, but couldn't place the face.
Once my brother and I got our own transistor radios around 1962-63, we would listen to WABC (with an occasional switch to WMCA or WINS until the latter went all-news in 1965). The only time we listened to John Gambling on WOR was on snowy days. School districts in my area were reluctant at first to put the school closing info on a rock and roll station and preferred putting them on the station the parents listened to.

The cute female who's trying to make us believe she was the male Jheri Redding is actress Penny Phillips, who was the voice of Krazy Kat in the 1960's cartoons produced by King Features. "My darling Ignatz!"

So that's what Penny Phillips looked like. Those cartoons were made for King Features Syndicate in the early 1960s along with Snuffy Smith and Beetle Bailey.

Casinos ban card counters because they beat the dealer with a mathematical advantage. When I was overseas in the military I got someone to send me this book and used the basic strategy to win $3500 playing in the staff house over the course of a year.

Peggy was so precious. She was so confident that she was right about "Insurance" meaning you can split your cards if you have two aces. Sweetheart, that's called a "SPLIT". And you can do it if you are dealt ANY two cards of the same value. The contestant was right. If the dealer is showing an Ace, you can "buy" insurance (usually half your original bet), and if the dealer ends up having a blackjack, you don't lose all your money.

i've lived with cats, usually in groups of three or more, for my entire (now long) adult llife, and they do NOT like being hit, nor being treated as roughly as the real greer indicated. i started to guess "anyone but (the real one)" because of an inaccuracy but then i reasoned, "well, right off the bat he's ignorant because he 1. thinks cats like to be handled roughly (although admittedly "rough" was not defined) and 2. appears to think that liking cats necessitates disliking dogs, and neither is true, so it really could be this guy after all; i can't judge by level of expertise." oddly not one of the three could identify "dander." oh well. the show is great; i don't need to like or admire EVERY guest. also, when the show originally aired, i was a couple weeks shy of eight years old, knew nothing about cats (but a LOT about dogs) and was TOTALLY in love with orson bean!

+Gail Feldman Hi, Gail. Our situations are very similar. But we never wasted our money on pedigree cats. Humane Society & Animal Control. Perhaps you have done the sam,e. :)
Regardless, I am seeing a *disturbing* trend on this show. And I mean the eventual winners misrepresenting themselves. I guess that means *lie* . Now getting stage fright or freezing up on a question I can understand.
But Game #1? None of them could answer the *simplest* question of *What is DANDER* ?? There is NO WAY the "winner" would *not* know this, but I can give a pass on the impostors. Other questions in this round were answered *slowly* and they were *easy* . Especially for an expert on pedigreed cats.
And hey buddy! We've been rescuing and open up our heart and home since 1978. All kinds of DSH and DLH. Different genders.
I cannot agree with you more., Gail. *Cats do NOT like to play rough* or whatever they said. When I give belly scratches, yes one of them can get overexcited. *If this guy has written TWO books for college students* get their tuition back!

The pedigreed cat guy obviously didn’t get into the business because he loves cats, as he knows very little about them as a species. He will only know about the cats he has - their lineage, sex, and possibly something about their personality traits in the very basic sense.

#3, the real Archangel seller, had the MOST "I dont know". Not rare as there were many REAL guests who said "i dont know". I own cats and never heard of some of of Tom's descriptions. I dont know everything about cats but I have to know how they function, what they eat etc. which is the most important.

That was probably was one of his most famous product. He developed an entire line (or two) of hair products for many markets. In 1959 he left the company he founded and joined forces with actress Paula Kent. They were the founders of the RedKen company.
