No, I don't think Chicharrón went to heaven in the first place, here in Mexico the Aztecs (or Mexicas, this is the actual name) didn't have a place that they defined as a heaven. Here in their traditions were actually 4 different places a soul could go after death DEPENDING on the death they had. The first one is Tlalocan, guarded by the god Tlaloc, god of water and rain. Here the souls of those who died drowned or by any kind of water related incident lived. The second was Tonatiuhichan, with the god Tonatiuh that represented the sun. Here lived the ones that died being sacrificed or in combat. Then there's the Chichihuacuauhco, the place where one children went to, where they could develop enough so they could have a second chance in life and go back to the womb of another woman. And finally, and the most known, Mictlán, guarded by Mictlantecuhtli and Mictlancihuatl, here lived the souls of those who died by normal causes, like age or diseases. So, according to my culture I think he went to Mictlán, as he is shown to be old in the Land of the Death

I think the final death in Coco sees you off to heaven, because viewing Coco the land of the dead is thriving with thousands of those departed. There were things in that city that were required for one to thrive including restaurants, public transportation and a central government . I think in the final death is you stop existing as you, which I understand is scary, but you are reincarnated in a new identity. Essentially the old you is forgotten to time but the new you is born with new connections and memories to be made.

Literally wanted to discuss this in two weeks. I have videos planned for next week and then I wanted to give my thoughts on this question! Thanks for watching!
I think the guitar was cursed because Ernesto Delacruz stole it from Hector when he killed him. In the movie, it is mentioned that stealing from the dead instead of giving to the dead will result in a curse. My question is, if this is the reason, did Ernesto visit the land of the dead before Miguel as a living being, or was his untimely death the result of the cursed guitar?
the guitar was taken from the original owner, Miguel's great great grandfather, and then, it was taken by them seconds before death. Miguel thought that Ernesto was his great great grandfather, who was the second one to have the guitar taken from him, but it was really Hector, the first one. This means that Hector's great great grandson regains the guitar once stolen from him, a curse was placed on the FAMILY because of this stealing back of the amazing instrument. I know this is a really bad explanation, and I just came up with it, as my own theory, but I hope it helps.
I definitely assumed after seeing the movie that The Final Death takes you to Heaven. But I'm a Christian, so it was just kind of my natural assumption.

He fell into the lake when sometime between late morning and late afternoon, and didn't come out until night. I love this theory, however there is one thing that concerns me... if the land of the dead is purgatory: where souls destined for heaven undergo purification, WHY IN THE NAME OF SANITY is De La Cruse there???
My only guess is based on the testimonies of canonized Catholic saints like Pio of Pietrelcina. Padre Pio was a priest who allegedly bore the Stigmata and claimed to have received graces from God that allowed him to perceive guardian angels, read people’s souls, witness the salvation of souls in Purgatory, etc. (Now with people like Padre Pio, the Fatima children, or Saint Faustina, the Catholic Church categorizes their stories as “private revelation”, meaning that individual Catholics are not required to believe their testimonies at face value or base their lives around it, since it is not official Church dogma. By canonizing them as saints, though, the Catholic Church is saying that these people still have a reputable-enough background in its eyes, so that they could be still considered sane and sufficiently trustworthy when describing their “private revelations”). So when I was looking up some of Padre Pio’s claims, he said that some of the souls who visited him were of people about to die in mortal sin, but are saved because of God intervening at the last moment and offering them a chance to repent. Because God and eternity exists outside of time itself, it is said that prayers can even help someone who died long ago in the past and a soul can have a lifetime’s worth of conversation with God even in their literal final moments of unconsciousness before death. Pio even claimed "I believe that not a great number of souls go to hell. God loves us so much. He formed us at his image. God loves us beyond understanding. And it is my belief that when we have passed from the consciousness of the world, when we appear to be dead, God, before He judges us, will give us a chance to see and understand what sin really is. And if we understand it properly, how could we fail to repent?" With all of that in mind, and knowing that Coco obviously takes some of its own creative liberties with the holiday and religious beliefs, my guess is that the villain of Coco is currently on his way to eternal damnation, but he was still allowed to reside in the land of the dead for a while, leading to him basking in his desired fame one last time before the truth of his sins are to be revealed. After that, the villain is still allowed to exist in the land of the dead, but the truth of what he did is known and he is forced to see how meaningless his selfish pursuits were in the end, which forces him to reconsider his actions. This may or may not lead to him giving up and considering repentance, so he won’t damn himself when his “final death” comes. Overall, my best guess would be that him being allowed to stay there for a while could be interpreted as the higher power in this movie giving him one last gesture of mercy.
I think this is the bond between the death and Heaven or Hell, because this place is a place of rest not paying for the sons, and the True death is a passage for the judgement, Think about, we forget people not because we are evil but because is natural, we dont remeber of our ancestrals

Oh you won't be happy to what actually happened In the movie the book of Life and in Aztec theory there is another death worse than this theory it's basically hell After you're forgotten it's straight to hell
@@yoholup19 there is no hell in Aztec mythology. After you die you go to the mictlan where your journey starts and you have to make it through 9 spiritual planes.
Im from Mexico, and an Alebrije is gained with a deep conection between the human and the animal, like a dog who saved your life, or a cat who saved you and lives with you, like dante and Miguel, and Frida and her Monkey
I think the Final Death might be the actual afterlife, and the Land of the Dead is more of a stopgap where one may still be connected to family as long as they are remembered in their current state/identity before moving on, perhaps to reincarnate.
Here are some ideas for your next video wotso video: 1. What was Andy studying at uni in toy story? 2. Why did his parent's cut him off from the princess of the frog? 3. The original of judge doom and DIP from who framed Roger rabbit.
The final death for me and for many others signifies the one true death we will all face in the end. someone who has physically died still lives on in the memories and thoughts of those who knew them or knew of them. They stay alive by the acknowledgement of those still around to remember them whether they remember that person for the good that they did or the bad they brought. Once that person can no longer be recalled by any living person, they experience the final death because they cease to exist through any medium whatsoever.
This reminds me of “The Book of Life.” Maybe it’s like that, where the Lotd is the Land of the Remembering, and when they fade, they go to The Land of the Forgotten.
My Theory is that “Coco” And “The Book of Life” Are connected and when Chicarrón was forgotten he went to the land of Forgotten which is shown in the Movie
Well, being Catholic myself the idea of the land of the death as the purgatory is not so clear, I think they're different, but in some prehispanic cultures people could reincarnate as animals. Sorry if my English is bad.
I always thought that the final death was the land of the forgotten from The Book Of Life, because in both instances it’s where the souls are forgotten and I thought where Hector and Miguel were was the land of the remembered where they would slowly fade away if forgotten. If you look at the land of the remembered and the “underworld” of Coco, they look pretty similar both glowing, tons of buildings, celebrations, and plenty of colour! Plus it has the same orange petals as the ruler of the land of the remembered (sorry I forgot all the names, I haven’t watch Coco or The Book Of Life in a while) so it would make sense.
"The Dead Soldier" Is what he did at the end with the shot glasses, It's like a honor system among fallen soldiers used in the 1600-1800 but still popular today. I dont know much about it but it seems to be a final toast to the fallen.
After watching Coco on a recent plane flight, I have to say your theory makes as much sense as any. You are an engaging young man. Thank you for your intellectual passion!
The book of Life took a lot of liberty's and used mutiple aspects of the culture to make the adventure, in Coco non of the deities get a single mention , Coco stayed a bit more closely see to home with it's story
This does make sense. When there is no one left living who can remember you, it means it’s time to go to the final stage-Heaven or Hell. There would be no point in him (Chicharron) visiting anyone on earth as he has been forgotten.
I know this video is meant to be about a movie about the celebration and understanding of death and memory but half way through I started having existential dread and realized that eventually I will die, I'm only 19 now but anything could happen to me even at a young age. How does it feel? Where do you go? how do you see your own mind just, stopping, your view fading, your memories and knowledge, does it stay or does it go? Who are we really? have we actually lived over and over through reincarnation? or is it one time and then your done? do you become a star? do you live in the clouds? do you wander the world as an aimless spirit that no one can see or hear but can be sensed? what is, death? an answer we may never receive.
Hey! I posted this theory in the comment section of one of your other videos aswell. Just to make sure that you read it I will write it again. :) So in Moana, when you watch the “I know the way song”, the boat which Moana uses to travel across the sea isn’t anywhere to be seen. That made me speculate that maybe the grandmother built the boat for Moana or even better, that she tried to venture out and return the heart of Te Fiti when she was young. Perhaps she was even the “chosen one” before Moana was, but failed at it. That may also explain why she is certain that Moana was the chosen one after she saw Moana rescue the turtle.
I had the same question, but my own solution to it was that once you are forgotten from the land of the living and leave the land of the dead you are brought back to the over world to be reborn so that you can have a new life and gain more people for you to remember and in return remember you when you go, once you enter the final stage of death you are stripped of your experience, memories, and past so that you may begin a new future. And since your past memory will be completely gone from the over world there would be no way to come across your past life in any way
Coco 2 would be the skeletons going to “afterlife” after “the final death” and skeletons will place pictures of the dead (now as ghosts) so they wont go to “The Final Afterlife”
May I just say, as a devout Catholic, THANK YOU! Many when describing the beliefs and values of the Church, sadly, do so poorly and with little context or little to no correct information. You certainly did your research, and correctly. :) That's actually what I figured the final death was too! I deduced this in a similar way. I knew Mexican culture was a combination of Aztec and Catholicism, and after speaking to my fellow Catholic who grew up in Mexico, all the info made sense. :)

In the end of the movie when Hector is fading and Miguel and Imelda are sitting on either side of him and the camera is above them, it looks like Hector has angel wings.
I want to know why Hector didn't final die after Coco died. When Miguel offered to go back to the Land of the Living and simply "remember" Cheech, Hector himself said you need to know that person while they were alive. And since Coco was the only one who knew Hector, shouldn't he no longer exist?
@@Adrian_1751 But Miguel still didn't know Hector, just stories about him. The rules of the universe were a little confusing. Also can only Mexicans go to the Land of the Dead? Does everyone else go to that place in Soul?
@@LordSumSumsHector states that once a family stops passing down the memories of someone and when any remaining people who remember them die, they experience the final death.
That makes a lot of sense. If the land of the dead is purgatory it would make sense that the less well known people would stay for less time as they likely lived simple lives whereas someone famous would stay longer because Fame and fortune often corrupts. So in retrospect it's a way to ensure everyone is just definitely in the right place when they pass on for the final time
Disney took that land name from Corpse Bride. So it's a tribute to Corpse Bride. I love Coco's Pandora looking version of the Land of the Dead! So much color!
Another thing that still hits me and I don’t know why, is when Hector put the shot glass down, there was another one standing up to it. (Chicharrón’s scene) And it reminded me of what Ernesto did to Hector.. :’C
Hello! Haven't watched it all yet but I came over as soon as I could. Anyways Coco was a really amazing work of art so I'm glad you made this video ecpesially since they had so little info about "The Final Death" it needed to be elaborated on by someone. Thanks for this and I hope you're doing well😊 Edit: Yeah, burritos are great 😓 Edit 2: okay, I'm done now and I think you're right. He probably went to heaven and it makes sence that the land of the dead is the Mexican Purgatory. Great job with everything on this one!
I don’t think this is true, solely because of Ernesto de la Cruz. After committing a mortal sin by killing Hector and clearly showing no regret in the land of the dead, or purgatory as you’ve described it to be, he wouldn’t have gone there in the first place. Seeing as he died without confession when the bell landed on him, he would have gone to hell. Not to purgatory. And he would definitely never be going to heaven.
Wow! Thanks for learning me about Mexican culture, history and there believes. I love watching your videos - but this is definitely on of your best ones yet. Keep up the good work 👍🏼
Answer 1: yes Answer 2: I like to think so. While my brother, my friend, and I were watching coco, we made up theories to the final death. So, I think that he went to heaven, since his ashes went up.
I have been binging your theories for two days now and I love them Soo much!!! I cannot wait to see your Halloween movie theories this year! Maybe you can do the corpse bride even though it's not technically Disney?
Let me tell you how it was Yesterday I watched Coco , then I start listening the songs on RUclips and while I was listening them , I got the notification of this video with Coco. *beautiful*
I think Chicharron was reincarnated. Maybe the baby at the end of the movie is reincarnated spirit of Chicharron. I do not see the "final death" as a heaven. I see it as a "resting stop" between lives where souls are able to cross over and see those who were part of their families during the Day of the Dead. If you are bringing up heaven, then you have to bring up hell as well.
The biggest problem with this theory is that going by the logic of everyone in the Land of the Dead being destined for heaven means that Ernesto, an unrepentant murderer, was as well. That doesn't sound right.
Hello. Ok, multiple Coco questions that need answering. 1. What do the colorful marking on the skelotons signify? Are they just part of the culture and everyone has them, do the colors or shapes symbolize anything? 2. What determines the age/appearance of the skeletons? Is it when they die, as that would explain coco, and hector. And probably others, but there are ALOT of middle aged people and children and entire families in the land of the dead and its hard to believe that many people died young. Could it be what you choose to appear of something else? 3. Why does Hector walk strange. I havent thought about it much but now it is really bugging me because hector never realized that he did after 80 years or whatever being dead, and he is the only one who does.

Could they come back from a final death? Like someone does research and finds lost relatives that had been long forgotten, since they are now known again and remembered do they become reborn again in the land of the dead?

a chance to see and understand what sin really is. And if we understand it properly, how could we fail to repent?"
With all of that in mind, and knowing that Coco obviously takes some of its own creative liberties with the holiday and religious beliefs, my guess is that the villain of Coco is currently on his way to eternal damnation, but he was still allowed to reside in the land of the dead for a while, leading to him basking in his desired fame one last time before the truth of his sins are to be revealed.

I think the Final Death might be the actual afterlife, and the Land of the Dead is more of a stopgap where one may still be connected to family as long as they are remembered in their current state/identity before moving on, perhaps to reincarnate.

I've always wondered what the Final Death truly was.
Also, hi Isaac!! :D
EDIT: 😓
I'm glad I could bring you an answer then!! Thanks for watching!

This reminds me of “The Book of Life.” Maybe it’s like that, where the Lotd is the Land of the Remembering, and when they fade, they go to The Land of the Forgotten.

Glad I could blow some minds!

The Land of the Forgotten from the Book of Life?
Dr.Spidey Poole DUN DUN DUN DUNNNNN (That's a Good Guess!)
That's what came to my mind
Dr.Spidey poole exactly
yea cause who would pray for you if you being forgotten?
omg yess
My Theory is that “Coco” And “The Book of Life” Are connected and when Chicarrón was forgotten he went to the land of Forgotten which is shown in the Movie
what I think the final death is:
I think it's like resurrection
(idk why I think this.it just came into my mind)
ur theory is so good!!!
Well, being Catholic myself the idea of the land of the death as the purgatory is not so clear, I think they're different, but in some prehispanic cultures people could reincarnate as animals.
Sorry if my English is bad.
I agree
Welp let's just sit here and wait for Coco 2 if it does happen because many things were not answered 😰
I doubt there will be a Coco 2😂🤣
as much as i like coco... oh god no.
"The Dead Soldier" Is what he did at the end with the shot glasses, It's like a honor system among fallen soldiers used in the 1600-1800 but still popular today. I dont know much about it but it seems to be a final toast to the fallen.
I just rewatched the movie yesterday!
And I was searching for this earlier today! Thank you for making this.
do you notice chich golden dust goes UP too so that can be a vague way of telling people that this purgatory and he went to heaven
Wotso understands and explains stuff well

I have not watched the video yet but i suppose it will blow my mind.
Let's hope!! Thanks for the support!
Wotso Videos your videos are awesome, keep it up! :D
After watching Coco on a recent plane flight, I have to say your theory makes as much sense as any. You are an engaging young man. Thank you for your intellectual passion!
Just watch the book of life.
The final death is the land of the forgotten in the book of life
Thats smart bro.
Then thats where the 'True' Final Death happens...
You can only be in that realm so long, before you become nothingness
^this comment
The book of Life took a lot of liberty's and used mutiple aspects of the culture to make the adventure, in Coco non of the deities get a single mention , Coco stayed a bit more closely see to home with it's story
but where do you go when you fade from there lol
So in Moana, when you watch the “I know the way song”, the boat which Moana uses to travel across the sea isn’t anywhere to be seen.
I am an American and I am fascinated at the talk of death and different cultures who celebrate it.
I'm using your videos as inspiration and research for a theory! Thanks for making these videos
This is my 3rd video of yours. I'm subscribing. This made too much sense!
My baby cousin laughed at the dudes final death because he thinks he turned into flying orange juice
He’s evil
I wasn’t concerned, I was just sad, but it was kind of uplifting knowing he was at peace. You know not living out existence as a skeleton.
Malachite: yes I love burritos
I do to, I love them

Wotso Videos I'm back!!!! I wrote I saca instead of Isaac, sorry 😅 anyway yeah is true we make fun of the death, like a lot, I mean Dia de Muertos is like making fun of death like we make candies in shape of skulls, I do think Chichi went to heaven or something like that I don't wanna say like is something from the church sine I'm atheist and still celebrate Día de muertos, so I think that when the final death happens you just go to "heaven" something like that, anyway yes burritos are the best, but the American one are super weird, but whatever
Dude ur like the best theory channel on RUclips 😃. I literally stay up all night watching ur vids 🤓
Coco literally told miguel about hector in the end though
So in retrospect it's a way to ensure everyone is just definitely in the right place when they pass on for the final time
I thought the Final Death was the destruction of one's soul. That being said, I was VERY worried for Chicharrón! 😨😨😨
Another well done and insightful video!
OMG I'm actually here early(P.S great video)
Thanks for the support Trey!
So remembering your loved ones actually keeps them from being able to move on.
i think the second death = normal death, you know gone, lights out, nothing left
The land of oblivion or lost of individuality. Oneness or ascension. It can be described as destruction or pure togetherness.
I think seeing Book of Life before I saw Coco helped me understand that scene more.
Hello! Haven't watched it all yet but I came over as soon as I could. Anyways Coco was a really amazing work of art so I'm glad you made this video ecpesially since they had so little info about "The Final Death" it needed to be elaborated on by someone. Edit: Yeah, burritos are great 😓
Edit 2: okay, I'm done now and I think you're right. He probably went to heaven and it makes sence that the land of the dead is the Mexican Purgatory. Great job with everything on this one!
It's obvious. Look at how he disappears. He became one with The Force.

I like to think Cheech was reincarnated as a newborn baby, so he'll have a new chance at a new life so he'll be remembered in that new life.
I dont think chicharron didn't went to heaven I think that thanos snap his fingers
😰😰😰
Also: yes, I believe Chich went to heaven
Wow! Thanks for learning me about Mexican culture, history and there believes. I love watching your videos - but this is definitely on of your best ones yet. Keep up the good work 👍🏼
I already know bcs im catholic and i asked my mom about it after my grandmas death😥
Answer 1: yes
Answer 2: I like to think so.
It can’t be that everyone in the land of the dead is destined for heaven, that would mean Ernesto is heaven-bound

Let me tell you how it was
Yesterday I watched Coco , then I start listening the songs on RUclips and while I was listening them , I got the notification of this video with Coco.
*beautiful*
Please help me I watched film theory’s princess explained back to back so please 👏🏻
Peter pan said it best to die would be the ultimate adventure
Benjamin Franklin once said "A man is not truly born until he is dead."
The biggest problem with this theory is that going by the logic of everyone in the Land of the Dead being destined for heaven means that Ernesto, an unrepentant murderer, was as well. That doesn't sound right.
Where are my Mexican and/or Latino folks watching this video??

Jillian McGovern
He walks weird because one of his leg bones is Chicharron’s femur that he used to replace his real leg bone
Oh. I never at ally thought about that. ☺

As a cradle Catholic, this makes a lot of sense! Except for 1 thing: Why are people sad about the final death if it means they are going to heaven?
The theorizer said that the final death is the asention into heaven or hell.

And on these lines do cast an eye.
