Do you think Felix was actually being mean to Ralph? Let me know below! I hope you enjoyed my latest Wreck-It Ralph theory. If you want to get the Turbo shirt I was wearing in the video and help support the channel make sure to check out my store at wotsostore.com and always thanks for watching and have a magical day!
Wotso Videos Felix wasn’t the one who was really mean to Ralph. It was mostly the other nicelanders, especially the guy with the mustache, Gene. By the way, thank you for adding my comment in this video.
Felix wasn't being mean to Ralph as a matter of fact he was the only one in his entire game there was actually being nice and I wish Gene was real so I could give him a piece of my mind
I think Felix just wanted everyone to get along, and only seemed like he was being unfair to Ralph because he felt pressured by the community to do so.
In 2018 I was in major conflict with a group of people. No matter what I tried conflict would not end until I learned to do 2 things differently. 1: Stop blaming myself. 2: Stop thinking of those who oppose me as sentient beings that are capable of empathy and being reasoned with. Perhaps Felix has already gone through something that allowed him to learn this lesion the hard way and thought it best to just not even bother with diplomacy.
RequiemPoete how, he was trying to please everyone and had the best intentions out of everyone in the fix-it-Felix jr game. Ralph if good natured definitely has a short fuse and the nice landers are unappreciative of Ralph as the villain and genuinely believe he destroys their penthouse because he wants to, not because he needs to. Felix tried to please both parties but the nicelanders forced him to forget about Ralph.
Maybe they were afraid they would be thrown out if they tried to defend? Like, they are not in their games, so they didn't feel right to argue with hosts?
@@starjones1 Game characters still abide somewhat by their own logic though. Otherwise, their power levels would be all over the place and inconsistent and it would suck.
Reasons Ralph is a GOOD guy: 1) he gives food to HOMELESS game characters 2) his home was REMOVED by the nicelanders 3) his personality is just his PROGRAMMING
Ralph: Felix, pull yourself together! Felix: No, Ralph! You don't know what it's like to be rejected and treated like a criminal. Ralph: Yes I do... That's every day of my life.
Felix: ... It is? Ralph: Which is why I ran off, tried to be a good guy, but I’m not! I’m just a bad guy, and I need your help. There’s a little girl whose only hope is this kart. Please, Felix, fix it! And I promise I will *never* try to be good again.
It's like Zangief said at Bad Anon, Ralph is the bad guy of the game. But this doesn't mean he's a bad PERSON, overall. Yet, the Nicelanders (specifically, one of them) acts like he's the worst thing in the world since Herpes; all because he's simply doing his job
Ikr I would’ve been like , “You should be careful on how you treat me and show me more respect. Because without me there is no fix it Felix. But without your existence it won’t make a difference at all, just one less rude man.”
Ralph is not the villain it’s just a role that he plays. In real life he’s a good person while the “Nicelanders” pretend to be friendly but in real life they are bullies.
My initial interpretation of the movie was that Felix was too nice (read: passive) to truly stand up to the mob mentality of the Nicelanders. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
Ralph if anything had every right to be angry at Gene for having Mary bake the 30th anniversary cake with Felix and the nicelanders on top as the heroes but him as the “villain” at the bottom metaphorically describing how the nicelanders discriminate against Ralph and treat him like the villain he is supposed to be in Fix It Felix Jr. despite the fact that Ralph never was actually a villain in the first place outside his video game’s program due to never actually behaving like one but Gene sorta is the true villain for having NiceLand built in Ralph’s Forest moving the tree stump he lived in to the dump causing Ralph to almost destroy niceland out of vengeance before Felix fixes it making Ralph the villain he was (In the video game only) and Felix the hero he was leading to another heated argument between Ralph and Gene on that matter (Felix even attempts to break it up but fails.) to the point where Ralph destroys the cake out of vengeance and finally draws the line with Gene and the nicelanders’s unfair discrimination towards him for being the villain of the video game and decides to win a medal and prove he can be a hero to get them to appreciate him better and allow him to live in the penthouse with them and be put on top of the cakes the nicelanders make and also banish Gene to his tree dump in the dump as revenge for his cruel actions towards him, setting up the rest of the story’s events, and Gene ultimately faces the consequences for his behavior towards Ralph when it leads to the latter going “Turbo” and being put out of order threatening to be unplugged but when Ralph finally returns Gene doesn't bother to apologize for his behavior but gives Ralph the penthouse and leaves the video game (Abandon ship) with the other nicelanders to be unplugged and leave Ralph in it to die with the rest of the video game when it’s unplugged as payback for starting the incident without realizing that he himself was all to blame for it in the first place, but when Wreck-It-Ralph and Fix-It-Felix Jr. return to the game the next day after they defeat and kill all with Sergeant Calhoun and Vanelope’s help the cy-bugs invading Sugar Rush and Turbo/King Candy and reset the video game making Vanellope is protagonist and one of its raving avatars, Princess Vanellope again, allowing all the nicelanders to move back in and saving the game from being unplugged, Gene sorta finally sees the error of his ways and turns over a new leaf (Though he still should have been punished for his jerkass actions towards Ralph offscreen Ralph also is shown punching Gene in one brief scene in Ralph Breaks the Internet as he and the other characters witness LitWak plugging in the WIFi-Router as laser-guided karma for his jerkass behavior towards him in the first movie.) and he and the Nicelanders stop discriminating against Ralph for being a villain and start treating him more like the hero he just became and let him move into the penthouse in Niceland. (Ralph also let’s Q Bert and his villain friends from Q Bert move into Fix It Felix Jr. as characters in a bonus round for the arcade video game and makes houses for them to live with outside of Niceland with Felix’s help.) This makes Mr. Potato Head from Toy Story looks like less of a jerkass than Gene is and unlike Gene, Potato Head actually gets his comeuppance and laser-guided karma for his antagonistic behavior towards Woody for his mistreatment and jealousy towards Buzz Lightyear in the first Toy Story movie.
Exactly, gene was honestly the worst out of all the nicelanders, he is like way more unlikable than turbo/king candy! That's why it was satisfying in the end of the movie where gene's new role in the game is to be blasted off by an explosion ever since ralph decided to let QBbert and his friends to be part of the fix it felix game 😂
It's kind of akin to the dilemma when it comes to bullying though - if you just kind of watch everything happen on the sidelines, and don't actively call someone out for their negative actions, to some degree you're part of the problem. Felix did what he could to be nice to Ralph, but when the Nicelanders were clearly being mean and cruel, he just stood back and tried to make peace indirectly ("How about we just eat the cake?" which is basically trying to redirect the conflict rather than solve it) rather than addressing the real problem here.
As this video points out, having the citizens interact with Ralph in a civil way was important to shaping their image of him. The invitation to eat cake was an opportunity for this interaction, and in suggesting, "How about we just eat the cake," I give Felix credit for trying to maintain this opportunity by de-escalating the situation. His comment was definitely directed toward Gene, to get him off his back. Felix was the only one who challenged Gene to any extent - albeit indirectly - and he spoke up even though by that point Ralph had already made the ceiling fall on him. Could Felix have done more? Yes, and he spends the rest of the movie gaining awareness and empathy for Ralph's point of view.
@@simplebutpowerful The problem is, your air bender tactics won't work here. There's no way to dodge nor sidestep the underlying issues at play. Even if Gene backed down, and cake eating commenced it would be done in awkward silence until Gene found some way of either insulting Ralph or getting pissed at him. Only thing that would have worked would be directly confronting Gene's attitude.
I swear gene is like one of those bullies who will hate you for no reason even if you try to do it their way, he’ll always hate you. Like he hates Ralph for doing his job... He’s lucky enough Ralph doesn’t wreck their whole apartment.. I would and I’d also steal Felix’s hammer.
That’s not Ralph’s fault though that’s the just the way the game is programmed. Without Ralph throwing him and the rest of the nicelanders out of the window the game wouldn’t even exist. Besides at the end of the game they get to throw Ralph of the roof of the building.
@@regularguy2807 I know that and of course I don't blame Ralph. He's a lovable goofball! I just saying that considering all the characters do have their own emotions and feelings. To Gene being the first to be tossed out every single time might cause a deep sense of hurt almost as of Ralph wasn't targeting him intentionally and not just because of code. We know that each character knows that they are in a game but depending on their role it may lead them to become distraught woth their life, as evidenced by Ralph and the rest of the "bad guys". Also although they all know the basics of their games, I doubt they know everything. After all if the nicelanders knew everything about the code then they would probably already know that Ralph was a good guy deep down. I think the only ones who really know everything about the code are the designated "rulers" of each game like Vanellope, King Candy, and possibly Fix It Felix. Sorry this comment is kinda long
The candy racers treated Vanellope as garbage and they weren't programmed to do that. They were hacked to not remember that she is their princess and the main character of their game, but Turbo didn't add hatred to their programming. These characters have some level of free will that goes beyond their code, so they are responsible for being jerks.
To be fair, they are children, and I can imagine that King Candy treating Vanellope like a parasite is likely why they began doing the same. After all, King Candy outright banned her from racing and I assume he wasn’t very kind to her at all.
I think Nicelanders does NOT mean nice-landers or nice people of the land rather means niceland-ers or people of the nice land. Nicelanders love nice things and thus by nature despice anything that destroys nice things (Ralph) and by extension love what repairs them (Felix). Ralph destroys things, thus has a broken life. Felix repairs things, thus try to repair everything even Ralph.
hora de todos os legos I honestly hated how joy was being very manipulative with Riley’s feelings when the other emotions such as anger disgust and fear and sadness tried to have a sort of moment she would imedeatly hate it, I get she’s joy but she should let them do what they should need to do as well as how she is able to
@@sunnymclurkin3262 She did go through a whole arc where she realized that all the other emotions are just as important as joy. But I do agree otherwise
In the beginning, Felix was just trying to defuse conflict, but later in the fungeon, he straight up says, "You don't know what it's like to feel rejected and treated like a criminal", then seems slightly confused/surprised when Ralph says otherwise. Felix was clearly ignorant, and part of me suspects it's willful ignorance. The Nicelanders got what was coming to them when the game went out of order. Even afterhours they wanted him gone, and they got what they asked for. One of the most satisfying 'serves you right' moments in Pixar history.
I think some of the good guys do appreciate the bad guys - in the bad guy group, we see bowser and eggman; sonic plays olympics with eggman, while bowser is allowed to kart with mario. Why would those two be at therapy then? Because of the other characters who think they are nothing but bad.
i feel gene who told ralph he could live in the penthouse if ralph got a medal should've shared his part in the blame for the game almost being unplugged, but i guess that's why his name rhymes with mean.😈
I think this theory is really interesting. Gene definitely has a strong personality possibly not programmed by the game but his personal experience. Just like Turbo was programmed to be a jerk racer but chose to become a total tyrant.
I despised gene, in the movie i was glad he got blown up at the end during the secret level. Also, it was gene's fault that ralph left to begin with and gene's fault the game was almost shut down.
@@norieljadecuba2272 No, it was Gene, if he never told Ralph to get a medal, Ralph wouldn't have gone to Hero's duty and wouldn't have ended up saving Vanellope and Sugar Rush We literally wouldn't have gotten the movie if Gene wasn't a meanie So thank you Gene, but also screw you Gene
that can be because of two things either 1. dieing and being reborn had a major strain on his brain causing self amnesia. or 2. the man in the moon knew that if jack was reborn with his memories he would end up becoming depressed having to watch the ones he loved grow old and die
I always saw it as a side effect of the transformation. Sort like creating a new identity the old one needed to be erased. It also could have been accident since he changed rather fast.
@@meganmarchionda1165 The only reason I wonder is because the other guardians seem to remember their past lives, and they seemed surprised to find out that Jack didn't.
@@GhostwolfNightmareShadow, true in some stories when a characters dies and is shown as a ghost or zombie, or in this case revieved, they're shown to have amnesia and not know much about their past lives, until something triggers them to remember like showing them a certain place or ect., anything you could do to help them remember. Like in adventure time, finn and jake help ghost princess find out how she died and once they find out, they show her the blade/knife she was stabbed with and remembered her past life.
Technically, wouldn't The Nicelanders be the villains in the game and Ralph the actual good guy? Because they forced Ralph out of his home and he want to fight for the injustice of being kicked out. Felix is only doing what he "pay" to do. (pay meaning program) As for Felix, I do believe he is in the gray area when it comes to conflict with the Nicelanders and Ralph.
It's kinda of like a donkey Kong situation I think? The supposed bad guy Ins't the bad guy really when you think about it. It could also explain why Ralph Ins't very antagonistic in it's core
Ralph has grounds to hire Phoenix Wright. It says in the song 'Wreck it, Wreck it Ralph', an official song and therefore part of the canon, that the green space and Ralph's stump was taken over due to eminent domain. However, this is normally only used to acquire land for public works. A private luxury apartment building does not qualify. Even if you use the interpretation that by replacing the green space with an apartment benefits the public good by increased tax revenue (an excuse for third party developers to steal peoples homes if I ever heard one), Ralph had surely lived there long enough to have squatters rights. As owner of the land, he should have been given fair market value. Since he's destitute and living in a dump, I think it's safe to say that didn't happen.
3:17 1. He's just tall and big 2. He was about to give her a compliment on the cake...until he saw his own face My summary: SEE YOU IN COURT "nicelanders."
Wait... If Gene was the mayor, isn't it possible that he's the one who signed the papers or gave the orders for the relocation of Ralph's stump? Which would mean that he didn't just simply rile up the Nicelanders at the party but he's the one that sets the whole chain of events in motion leading to him being tossed away as the first victim each time, gaining the sympathy of the others... (gasp) And their admiration when he stands up to Ralph since he seems brave when he yells at Ralph! Which is why they rally around him and take his side. It's like a victim standing up to his abuser. It was a source of inspiration for them to also voice their opinions... Hold up! What the heck, Gene?! Felix is just being manipulated like the rest of the town!
*Beep*ing… BULLYING THE “BAD GUY” BECAUSE OF SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED BECAUSE OF YOU?! This is straight up what Masayoshi Shido does to Joker in Persona 5, and that situation was before they got supernatural with it!
I'm wondering why, when Calhoun asks Felix why Ralph ran off, he replies, "I wish I knew." What do you mean you *wish* you knew, Felix?! You were there at the party! You clearly heard his angry rant; in which he vowed to get a medal!
i dont think felix has a mean bone in his body i think he was just confused because of the nice landers and because of the hole the needs of the meany out way the needs of the few so the nice landers were the meany and ralph was the few leading felix to side with the nice landers at least just a little
I think they are scare of Ralph because he was program as a villain. They aren't mean there just scared. Okay...picture the setting. You have two roles the villain and the hero, They been doing there jobs for years. It gets confusing, They will ,of course, think that there still playing the game even when they are not. But your not wrong. It does go in if he is a bad guy or a nice guy.
I never liked Gene, now I dislike him even more. He's the reason Ralph hates the Nice Landers. Ralph is just doing his job, I get it's not the best job in the world. But Bowser still has a good fanbase despite him kidnapping Princess Peach, and I believe Bowser is just misunderstood and an example is him not having any parents, except for Kamek. What does this have to do with Ralph? Ralph is misunderstood, and the Nice Landers being mean to him isn't helping.
Yeah and bowser and mario are good friends if mario arrived to the party maybe he could make gene know they had to know him better because in the game his code makes him be evil and when the arcade its closed he is really good and someone who can make you have a good time with his company
Now that you showed the beggininng scene, why is Ralph the bad guy? He was taken away from his home place to build up that building!! And not only was outcasted but treated as the bad guy just for beig angry they took his place! The nicelanders aren't that nice.
More like Meanlanders. It's really hard to call them nicelanders when you realize that they're technically the true villains of the game. This is indicated by the cutscene in the beginning where Ralph basically explains the origin of his role ad the supposed "villain" of the game's plot, as the guy was minding his own business until the so-called "nice"landers basically forced him off his home and into a junkyard. And to add insult to injury, built a hotel in place of his stump! I wouldn't be surprised if Gene spearheaded this event (considering the guy's a leading authority in their little community), which could also be the reason why Ralph targeted him first so frequently.
You had a very good argument but what if the only mean was gene just think about it gene its the only one who treats ralph with that hate and he maybe told everyone how villains are mean evil and they only destroy everything for fun and they are so naive and trusted only on what gene said because in ralphs vision he just imagined how to send gene to the dump and that for me its more like the other ones are indifferent with him and gene the only one who is mean
I think Felix was trying to let Ralph down in the nicest way so he wouldn't be offended but couldn't do it as he doesn't like to be the reason why someone is mad at him Like when Felix called Sergeant Calhoun dynamite gal, she shouted at him and his face looked heart broken
Lauren 150695 well you do remember that Calhoun saw her husband who used to call her dynamite gal die on her wedding day which whenever somebody called her dynamite gal it kinda triggered her to have a form of PTSD and she doesn't want to be in another relationship cus of that
Something I appreciate about the movie is they never make Felix the actual bad guy like other movies would with that type of formula. Instead Felix is genuinely a kind and well meaning person who just didn’t understand or know how Ralph felt. It’s a pleasant subversion
but they do know they're video game characters, right? and we already established it's not their programming that's causing them to give him the cold shoulder. so what exactly is rendering them unable to distinguish between his game persona and his real persona?
Alex Gu i agree. Gene is the absolute worst in the movie, i cannot stand him. He is way unlikable than the actual villain of the movie! But it's good that karma gets him at the end of the movie where gene's new role is to be blasted off by an explosion ever since ralph brought QBert and its friends to the fix if felix game XD
Because all they saw was him busting up the building everyday and tossing them out of windows. They were probably all scared out of their minds the first few times.
@kenma’s console that's because in the movie, it's an old 80's game. They are after all, if you remember, celebrating their 30 year anniversary in the movie. The movie is from 2012 ÷ 30 = 1982 But that doesn't mean it existed in real life, back then. Because it didn't. Look it up. They clearly says it's a FICTIONAL game inspired by donkey kong...
One of my theories is Gene is one of the Developers. That's why he gets thrown at the start of the game. And I always saw that the developers are the bad guys.
Problem is they don't realize it until after they're basically screwed. "Without Ralph we're doomed." Yeah...couldn't have realized that sooner? Like at the party? When Ralph basically said he's just as important to the game as anyone else? >.
In the credits, the song full out says; They stole his land, That was his home. This is like what our ancestors did to the Aboriginals, Ralph is just extremely violent and angry. (I'm not Australian)
Arceus Insanity funny thing: this game was created in Japan, and the designer of the cutscene was actually mad because his uncle was thrown out of his home of 39 years to make way for an eminent domain. He animated the scenes of Ralph as a subtle reference to events.
Next Video: The Lion Guard is destroying the ecosystem by eliminating the predators -no predators means prey overpopulation -prey overpopulation means vegetation destruction -Vegetation destruction means prey starve and die -No hyenas and vultures means prey corpse pile up -Corpse pile up means disease spreads and kills the survivors And boom circle of life destroyed
I don't think Felix was deliberately mean, just unintentionally mean because he didn't understand where Ralph was coming from and his feelings. He was just so used to the Nicelanders being the designated good people he didn't even think they could possibly be mean people.
Unrelated to the video, but I had a suggestion for another Disney theory. What if Dr. Fecilier from The Princess and the Frog is the son/grandson of Mama' Odie? It would explain her age if he was in his late 40's early 50's. Plus they both use voodoo magic, and are known to be royals of their craft. Mama' Odie is described as the "voodoo queen of the bayou" and Dr. Fecilier mentions how "I'm a prince myself on my mother's side." You don't have to do it, but it was just a thought.
OMG THAT'S BRILLIANT!! It also makes sense then why she knows of the shadow man and thinks of him with distaste, perhaps she isn't happy her son chose the darker side of voodoo and they had a rift at some point where they went their separate ways?
Yo.... I have a theory that Turbo and Felix were at one point friends. But I'm not sure... what do you think? And if you wanted to, would you do a theory on it?
@@xcarkeysx1190 No idea. I just feel like they were friends, there's not many things that prove it but, idk. It'd be interesting if they were. Though I'd like to see if more people agree with me
Well it’s simple, fix it felix jr is one of the oldest games at the arcade and felix is the star of said game. At the party, a lot of heroes from various games are at the party. Turbo was a very popular game until a better game came along. Now if turbo was a minor game character from a game that no one really played then no one would care about him doing stupid things, but he was one of the big shots and his name was used to refer to that same thing he did for ages. There’s definetly a high chance that they knew eachother but very little evidence.
Nah I don't think Felix was being mean to Ralph. At least not on purpose. I agree with you that he thinks what he's saying and doing is just the natural order and the way things must be done to keep the peace. I think that might also have to do with the narrator and the fact that Ralph's stump (per the intro cut scene) is so far removed from the rest of the town.
After watching a social situation go wrong, I think: what could the character involved have done to deescalate the situation. In the party scene, Felix really did all that he could to avoid the threat of conflict between the Nicelanders and Ralph. I rarely if ever find this.
Jonathan Tash felix was honoring his name fixing it the better as he could, it was fault of the nicelanders, i would liked to see elsa there telling her mind to them since she could relate with ralph
I feel like this fear of Ralph could have started with Fix it Felix's dad. Because who caused this to happen to Ralph? The original Fix it Felix himself. That's how it seems to me. I think it's possible that he put the fear of Ralph in them because of how he is. His stature, his big hands. I mean...if someone like Ralph existed, someone told me he was a bad guy and I didn't know him myself, after seeing Ralph for the first time without actually knowing him, I would believe him. What do you guys think about this theory?
@@medusathedecepticon That makes sense. But that doesn't answer the question of why the nicelanders didn't just get over the fear of Ralph and get to know him themself and see how he is beyond the rumors?
Felix is a Hufflepuff and everyone else is a Slytherin. Except Ralph. He's a Gryffindor. And Venelope is a Gryffindor. Edit: I have studied Slytherins now and I sincerely apologize for anyone who is insulted.
I am surprised pacman didn't stand up for ralph... He's mostlikely aware that in his game the ghosts are hosting therapy sessions for other villains. He's a glutton, but considering his job is carefully navigate around ghosts he would mostlikely be aware of the chaos happening around him.
JetLike TheJewel eh I wouldn’t say that it’s the majority. People that I know personally that so happen to be wealthy are the most generous bunch of people that I know. Same can be said with a lot of wealthy public figures. Especially the ones that start from the bottom.
What really confuses me is why didn't Sonic almost instantly stop Gene. Sonic not the type to just say "oh their game let them figure it out" no, Sonic would have asked Ralph what's up. Figured out his feelings and being the bigger name would at least give Ralph a cake. Or if they still refused Sonic would probably had hung out with him outside. It was an odd case of characterization.
I think he would've, but couldn't because of the other guests(I mean, the room was already full of tension, so he probably didn't want to raise the stakes higher and make the others feel more uncomfortable by comforting the apparent villain- in everyone else's eyes- in the room) That or Disney just couldn't use him that way, due to Copyright issues of some sorts
emotrainer4444 Oh gee, I don’t know. Maybe Sonic didn’t have an important role in this movie because he’s a copyrighted character and the movie isn’t about him anyway? Fucking idiot.
Late to comment, but maybe Sonic didn't want to step out of line, and make the anniversary party awkward. I mean yes, Sonic probably wouldn't agree with the treatment that Ralph recieved, but chose to stay quiet. Also, issues with copyright likely.
The one scene that really bothers me in Wreck It Ralph is when Ralph returns to the game after getting his medal and he goes to the top of the penthouse to find everyone has left. Gene tells him their game is gonna get unplugged because of him. Ralph said he never wanted this to happen and he was tired of living alone in the garbage and Gene says “Well now you can live alone in the penthouse”. Except that the whole reason Ralph left in the first place was because the others treated him poorly (he even said this to Gene) and none of the Nicelanders except I guess Felix admit they were also in the wrong.
First of all; after watching this movie again last night, I now understand Zangief's words from Bad Anon. Just because Ralph is the Bad Guy in his game, it doesn't mean he's a bad guy when the game's off. Yet, in spite of being a genuinely kind guy; the Nicelanders treat him like he's the living embodiment of COVID-19. The way I see it, Ralph just wanted to be given some respect; he didn't truly want to be a hero. Second of all, the game may be called Fix-It Felix...but it's RALPH that players love most. Therefore, HE should be given more respect and attention; despite being the game's "villain"
Yeah especially given you can literally cut the amount of nicelanders in half or more and nothing would be lost meanwhile if either Ralph or Felix go ghost the game is fucked
Here's what I believe the story of the game is. Ralph lived alone in the woods with his stump until the nicelanders came along and built their building driving him away. Angered, Ralph approaches the nicelanders and request that they relocate as he was there first. They refuse but in turn, offer him his own apartment as a way of saying sorry. This enrages Ralph as he believes they are trying to replace the home they took away from him so he in turn tries to take away their home, hence why they believe he isn't kind and is underserving of living with them because of his harsh rejection of their kind offer
As many times as I watched it I never caught that he threw the guy each time the game started. But if that's the mayor, isn't he responsible for approving construction plans for the city, & so responsible for Ralph's home being pushed into the landfill? If he had made sure surveys were done appropriately before approval, it would have been discovered someone already lived there. So even though he gets thrown, it's his fault still, & he knows it!
I felt the movie accurately depicted Wreck it Ralph was infamous for breaking things, much like Fix it Felix is known for fixing things. Later in the film (spoilers) Felix tries to break out of jail by hitting the bars only to make them tougher. I feel this perfectly captures the struggles Ralph faced with the Nicelanders. Every time Ralph shows up he would wreck something and Felix would naturally fix it. Perpetuating that Ralph makes the mess, Felix cleans it up, Ralph is the bad guy and Felix is the hero. If anyone knows what Ralph is going through, it's Felix. Probably why it's so unclear whether Felix is mean or nice to Ralph in the beginning. Since they are polar opposites they have a working relationship but are equally repulsed.
wow, this is better than what I thought of, what I thought of was told in the song "Wreck-It Wreck-It Ralph" in the song they mention a part that wasn't in the cutscene, they moved his stump and told him progress was to blame and then after moving his home to build theirs, they angered him and started destroying their home, making them hate him, and yeah, Gene gets thrown by Ralph, so I thought the Nicelanders hate Ralph cause he wrecked their home cause they moved his home because they ticked him off, but your theory is better than mine, in both of our theories, Felix doesn't like confrontations
@@christianali5431 I didn't mean to discrimmate anybody. I do agree it's mostly the nicelanders who legitimately casted out Ralph becuase he was the "villian". I'm just saying Felix wanted to make both sides happy.
Every character is morally ambiguous. Gene and the nicelanders started the conflict by moving Ralph to the dump. Ralph, in anger, retaliates and wrecks the building, which is a hostile but understandable response. Felix, wanting to make sure no one gets hurt, goes and stops Ralph from wrecking the building in order to protect the citizens
As a huge fan of Reck it Ralph I never felt or saw Felix ever be mean to Ralph he always seemed to like him in an acward kind of way so no I dont think Felix was ever mean to ralph

I think Felix just wanted everyone to get along, and only seemed like he was being unfair to Ralph because he felt pressured by the community to do so.
Which makes him just as bad, if not worse.
Felix was the Hufflepuff of the game
He had good intentions but still he knew what a vital part of the game Ralph was he should have treated him with more respect
I just wonder why the other game characters at the party didn't defend Ralph at all. I mean, that silence from Sonic is definitely ooc.
Most likely awkwardness, like being at a friends house and them arguing with their parents
Maybe they were afraid they would be thrown out if they tried to defend? Like, they are not in their games, so they didn't feel right to argue with hosts?

Mary was nice. And so were Diana and some that I forgot their names
My initial interpretation of the movie was that Felix was too nice (read: passive) to truly stand up to the mob mentality of the Nicelanders.
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
Majestia refrenced i see😏
Well that just sounds like the treaty of Versailles
(Ralph also let’s Q Bert and his villain friends from Q Bert move into Fix It Felix Jr. as characters in a bonus round for the arcade video game and makes houses for them to live with outside of Niceland with Felix’s help.)
This makes Mr.

Hotel trivago
Felix was actually trying to be nice to Ralph by letting him in the party
It's kind of akin to the dilemma when it comes to bullying though - if you just kind of watch everything happen on the sidelines, and don't actively call someone out for their negative actions, to some degree you're part of the problem. Felix did what he could to be nice to Ralph, but when the Nicelanders were clearly being mean and cruel, he just stood back and tried to make peace indirectly ("How about we just eat the cake?" which is basically trying to redirect the conflict rather than solve it) rather than addressing the real problem here.
@@Silentgrace11 For someone named Fix it Felix, he wasn't very good at fixing things when it came to people.
@@genera1013 i’m guessing he’s better at Fixing stuff than problems

Being the first to be tossed out of an apartment complex everyday seems like a pretty good reason to me XD
Sorry this comment is kinda long
Gene should have been lectured by Ralph or got some punishment. Worst character ever
The candy racers treated Vanellope as garbage and they weren't programmed to do that. They were hacked to not remember that she is their princess and the main character of their game, but Turbo didn't add hatred to their programming. These characters have some level of free will that goes beyond their code, so they are responsible for being jerks.
@@grandaduck
Doesn't mean they could be jerk.
I imagine King Candy encouraged that behaviour.

That doesn't mean Felix isn't also at fault. Being a bystander to bullying condones it.
That makes sense, since he helped out the nicelanders the most over Ralph, the person who LITTERALY practically gives him his job :(
In the beginning, Felix was just trying to defuse conflict, but later in the fungeon, he straight up says, "You don't know what it's like to feel rejected and treated like a criminal", then seems slightly confused/surprised when Ralph says otherwise. Felix was clearly ignorant, and part of me suspects it's willful ignorance.

I think some of the good guys do appreciate the bad guys - in the bad guy group, we see bowser and eggman; sonic plays olympics with eggman, while bowser is allowed to kart with mario. Why would those two be at therapy then? Because of the other characters who think they are nothing but bad.

I have a question for you: Why did Jack Frost lose his memory after he was chosen?
Lauren Brown , You know, I myself always wondered that.
that can be because of two things either 1. dieing and being reborn had a major strain on his brain causing self amnesia. or 2. the man in the moon knew that if jack was reborn with his memories he would end up becoming depressed having to watch the ones he loved grow old and die

It could also explain why Ralph Ins't very antagonistic in it's core
Yeah, the real life player plays as Felix so that's how the axis is oriented
I think that's why I preferred Donkey Kong Jr.

@Colin Dunbar Jr No there not. They are scared.
Gene is also going by his coding though. They are meant to not like him because in the game Ralph is meant to destroy their tower.
Yeah and bowser and mario are good friends if mario arrived to the party maybe he could make gene know they had to know him better because in the game his code makes him be evil and when the arcade its closed he is really good and someone who can make you have a good time with his company
😈
Did everyone forget the scene where Ralph returns to the pent house and discovers that his game was marked out of order and was alone with gene?
Tbh Felix was never mean to Ralph’s he was like that peacekeeper who wants everyone to get along and stuff
I think Felix was trying to let Ralph down in the nicest way so he wouldn't be offended but couldn't do it as he doesn't like to be the reason why someone is mad at him
Like when Felix called Sergeant Calhoun dynamite gal, she shouted at him and his face looked heart broken
I think Felix wasn't trying to be mean to Ralph he just didn't understand what Ralph was going through all his life.

Yo.... I have a theory that Turbo and Felix were at one point friends. But I'm not sure... what do you think? And if you wanted to, would you do a theory on it?
Lena TheHyena interesting why do you believe that
@@xcarkeysx1190
No idea. I just feel like they were friends, there's not many things that prove it but, idk. It'd be interesting if they were. Though I'd like to see if more people agree with me
It's not much of a theory without some sort of evidence in its favor.
Wait wasn't that his son
If the nicelanders were nicer to Ralph he never would've went turbo on them

Yeah really. What does he contribute to the game?

Here is what I learned from My little pony-
just because you were not mean to someone, does not mean you were nice to them.
I wish there was a scene where the Nicelanders apologized to Ralph
I like it a lot better than just blaming one of the nice landers for everything XD
@@medusathedecepticon That makes sense. But that doesn't answer the question of why the nicelanders didn't just get over the fear of Ralph and get to know him themself and see how he is beyond the rumors?
I find it hilarious that Ralph threw gene off the building

Ralph is the on,y reason they have been at Litwaks arcade for 30 years
Felix was kinda mean to him but I don’t think that was his intention
It's more "detached mean" than "confrontional mean".
It's really not that complicated. Most people who are rich and have nice things have a tendency to look down on and belittle others.
JetLike TheJewel eh I wouldn’t say that it’s the majority. People that I know personally that so happen to be wealthy are the most generous bunch of people that I know. Same can be said with a lot of wealthy public figures. Especially the ones that start from the bottom.

Me; "Wow, nicely organized DVDs!"
Here in the future. I don't even remember writing this.
I think he would've, but couldn't because of the other guests(I mean, the room was already full of tension, so he probably didn't want to raise the stakes higher and make the others feel more uncomfortable by comforting the apparent villain- in everyone else's eyes- in the room)
That or Disney just couldn't use him that way, due to Copyright issues of some sorts
emotrainer4444 Oh gee, I don’t know.
I love how you always put the DVD or Blue-Ray of the movie you are talking about in the backgound
why do you only have 288k it should be 288mil

The one scene that really bothers me in Wreck It Ralph is when Ralph returns to the game after getting his medal and he goes to the top of the penthouse to find everyone has left. Gene tells him their game is gonna get unplugged because of him. Ralph said he never wanted this to happen and he was tired of living alone in the garbage and Gene says “Well now you can live alone in the penthouse”. Except that the whole reason Ralph left in the first place was because the others treated him poorly (he even said this to Gene) and none of the Nicelanders except I guess Felix admit they were also in the wrong.
I hate the bitch too. I wanted Ralph to punch Gene in the face so bad.
I get flashbacks to the "Goodwill, more like Badwill!" Video.
Well, Felix was kinda treating Ralph as a friend
Gene is one of the villains in Wreck-It Ralph
1:10 Sonic being there in the background with his eyes glowing in the dim room is sorta creepy to me
It's the lights
As many times as I watched it I never caught that he threw the guy each time the game started. But if that's the mayor, isn't he responsible for approving construction plans for the city, & so responsible for Ralph's home being pushed into the landfill? If he had made sure surveys were done appropriately before approval, it would have been discovered someone already lived there. So even though he gets thrown, it's his fault still, & he knows it!
This makes me wonder, how is Mario, Peach and Bowser's connections when the arcade closes.
Do you think they hang out?
Been waiting for this since the voting poll yes !!!!!!
Glad I could bring it to you! It was a super fun video to make!
If Jean is "mayor", perhaps he ordered Ralph's stump to be moved in the 1st place. Jean sees Ralph and the stump as obsticals to be removed.
wow, this is better than what I thought of, what I thought of was told in the song "Wreck-It Wreck-It Ralph" in the song they mention a part that wasn't in the cutscene, they moved his stump and told him progress was to blame and then after moving his home to build theirs, they angered him and started destroying their home, making them hate him, and yeah, Gene gets thrown by Ralph, so I thought the Nicelanders hate Ralph cause he wrecked their home cause they moved his home because they ticked him off, but your theory is better than mine, in both of our theories, Felix doesn't like confrontations

Stop using those words to sound smart God am its dumb
Every character is morally ambiguous. Gene and the nicelanders started the conflict by moving Ralph to the dump. Ralph, in anger, retaliates and wrecks the building, which is a hostile but understandable response. Felix, wanting to make sure no one gets hurt, goes and stops Ralph from wrecking the building in order to protect the citizens
It’s ironic that they call themselves “ *nice* landers”
