- In 2023 the legendary band Level 42 celebrates the 40th anniversary of 'The Sun Goes Down (Living It Up)' from their world famous album 'Standing in the Light'. Especially for this, the band travels to Eindhoven to perform all their songs that dominated the charts back in the 1980s.
The band started out as an instrumental jazz-funk fusion band, but gradually grew into a pop/rock band in which the leading role of frontman Mark King - in combination with his famous thumb-slap bass technique- has always remained.

My mom is a huge Level 42 fan so as a little kid I listened to them a lot and I (now 20) am a big fan too so me and my mom went to this concert! Such an amazing experience
The time is so fast.!!!!we all remember 1980!!!. Young & hot!!
Wij waren er ook. Opnieuw een máchtig optreden van deze band!! 👍
Most bands end a show with this kind of tune. If they open this way, you can only imagine what's about to happen? They are so great@
I love this, you can hear the bass so clearly! Mark's playing is so freakin tight! 😍
How awesome does that bass sound!
65 and going strong. Never missing a beat!!
Yesssss
too bad he can’t sing
@@rloggen Yeah, he kind of lost that ability due to age. He sang great in the 80s, though!!!!
One of my Heros since middle of the 80s:)
Absolutely fantastic! Still got it lads!👏👏👏
Lad.
Brilliant band live!! Saw them in Liverpool earlier on in the tour...wasn't disappointed!!
Mark King...King of Slap
The thing that baffles me is Mark can sing whiles he’s do it. Victor Wooten is truly the master, but he can’t do what Mr. King does. Les Claypool also fronts his band, but he does things very different, less about driving the music, more like cymbals/percussion. There is room for all……..
Many thanks for sharing this video ❤
Fantastic recording quality! The audio is crisp and clear.
Hmmm, it's very muted as it's a audience fella with his iPhone bootlegging.
@@seltaeb3302better then nothing isn’t it?
Since Mark has brought back the Jaydee over the past couple of tours, John Diggins shop is flooded with new Jaydee bass orders.
The brown Jaydee was a cancelled bass order that John had on hand that Mark had bought to replace his trouble-plagued Starchild which went to John's shop for much needed repairs.
Mark and the whole band played a blinder. Please come back to the West country🏄
Great video 👍
I saw them in Leicester (UK) in October 23, a totally brilliant band, I have followed them for many many years.
Always liked them as a tight funk band
Great band live, went to their concert in Ipswich UK.Really good concert and they played 3 encore songs at the end .
Mark king still awesome 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you for posting the video show...
Mooi!
thanks for the band all songs was the great and I love you Stephanie Aronggear at loondermolen 💖
No love for Mike Lindup? (Keyboards) ;-)
I agree, just plain wrong.
Blinking brilliant , so great to hear mark still using his real voice , unlike some old bands miming to their old vocal tracks , or using a pitch corrector , and Noah and the GLOBSTERS can stuff AI IT WILL NEVER DO THIS AMOUNT OF NUANCE FOR THOSE WITH AN EAR AND SOUL TO HEAR . AND A CLONE WILL ALWAYS BE A CLONE . CHEERS FOR POSTING FABIO . AND IGNORE THE MOANERS .
いつまでも凄い!
Where’s Mike Lindup?
Need a tracklist ASAP
I just discovered this band last year & thus not all the music of the 80s was pants. Shame there's not the original 4 & musically there's a difference. RIP Boon, peace at last.
Always so good, it's a pity for the sound middle quality, 40 years....and always on the top !
What's the need of play so fast, that is 20% faster than the original, I like original speed
Live? Great is the poor man's Toto! Lol😅❤
How underrated, so repulsive, dis needs a solid hundred thousand
Bass still great, I can understand that you may loose your highs and/or some harmonics with age, but the pitch? Dudes! wtf!
Why such terrible cuts? 😒
Sorry but the sound is awful and e.g. Runniong in the family was not sung as it should be... have you smoked something, Mark? I adore you since 1982 but there ist something wrong now ...?
Yeah, sound isn't good because it is filmed in front of the stage. I guess the bass is so loud on the recording since it is the sound coming directly from those Mark Bass amps on stage. I don't understand why you would put your amps directly next to the drummer. The sound engineer must have had a bad day mixing a good drum sound with all that bass sound getting into the drum mics....
Sad.
I really dislike this video. Why are you showing part of the songs? There I was waiting for the bass part on World Machine, and suddenly it switched! Awful !
