I am so glad that KidZone is FINALLY hitting the dust! 🤣 It was definitely the most dated section of the park, with only ET Adventure and the Spongebob store keeping it afloat (I love both of those actually so I'm super glad they've been spared!) so I really hope the replacement for this area will be pretty polished and still fun for kids and families! The idea that this area will become Dreamworks themed is honestly perfection, as Illumination already has heavy prevalence in the different Universal parks and doesn't really need more rep, and I feel like bringing back Shrek, alongside other popular Dreamworks characters like Po, Hiccup & Toothless, Alex, etc will be better for things in the long run!

Honestly, from the last few visits that I've been to Universal Orlando (which would be about 5 visits in the past two months), I've been noticing more and more Sonic plushes, and considering how closesly related Paramount and Universal are, I wouldn't be surprised if they added something for Sonic, which would make it easy for them too, just retheme the Woody's coaster to Sonic and you have a kiddy sonic ride, have a chili dog stand, make tons off of merch from both games and movies (especially if they make chao plushes), just honestly feels like a no=brainer to me.

I like your ideas and predictions a lot, especially rerouting the ET entrance and keeping it (though I could see them taking out Animal Actors to free up even more space). I think the Dreamworks set of mini lands is the best move, as long as they make them somewhat immersive with 1-2 attractions each. I’m hoping for 2 big attractions (both to open later), with one in the front of the land and one in the back. No huge loss, I guess. E.T. Adventure is the only thing I really care about in that land, and the fact that it's sticking around is only a net positive for everyone. As for your replacement ideas, I'd be down with a DreamWorks land... Except for the possibility of the "Trolls" section. I'd much rather have a section dedicated to something like "The Croods", or "Monsters Vs. Aliens", or even "The Prince Of Egypt" or "Sinbad: Legend Of The Seven Seas", just because I'm old school.

They are taking out the "kids" section of the park, so they should have something oriented more toward younger audiences to appeal to fill that void. As far as the other franchises go, HTTYD getting its own full-fledged land in Epic Universe is the right move, and I think a franchise like Shrek or KFP should follow suit and replace the MIB/Fear Factor land, bring some more thematic consistency to the back end of Studios. I could also see one of those IPs being used as a replacement for Lost Continent or Toon Lagoon eventually.

Honestly id say this is one of the most SOLID predictions ive heard yet. It makes so much sense that universal would gravitate towards more than one dreamworks IP, considering that HTTYD is possibly getting a WHOLE DEDICATED LAND in a whole NEW/seperate park. If you think about it, universal dosent have much KID DEDICATED rides in that specific park other than minions and MAYBE transformers (depending on the age range ya know) so a fresh slate for kidzone with dreamworks sounds PERFECT for the land (Also because kids nowadays dont even RECOGNIZE the characters there with the exception of MAYBE ET😭). Id say the only thing is that ET and spongebob might stick out a bit as a sore thumb?? Especially if its going to be all dreamworks related, so im kinda hoping that at least ONE of those gets axed in the long run so the land could have a bit more room for universal to work with. But wow, amazing prediction man. Lets hope your track record keeps rollin for this one!!

Universal may want to keep that video game theme going cross parks, similar to how Harry Potter goes across parks. And what better way than through Pokémon?
Edit: I changed my mind when I heard Madagascar proposed. However, I think we should note this land will likely stay a KIDS area. And while we adults grew up w Marty and Alex, the kids didn’t. My current guess is still Pokémon, but now adding in that it could also be Trolls, since that’s hot w the kids right now

I think you're exactly right as to what is going to be there. Shrek, Madagascar, Kung-Fu Panda, and Trolls. Amd I believe that is also what's going to be at the Frisco, TX park as well. Rumor has it from the artist rendering, that park will also include Camp Jurassic and Gabbys Dollhouse. The latter 2 which will be absent from the KidZone area.
The entire Frisco park will only be 30 acres, of the property's 97 acre total. Subrtact Camp and Gabby, and the Dreamworks 4 will be almost a perfect fit for the KidZone area. Even if that means later taking over Animal Actors, and other points not closed yet, or in use.
I also think they will be duplicate rides as the Frisco Park. Faster and less expensive to duplicate, especially gambling on a new venture into regional themeparks. If it doesnt work, rides can be sent to another park. (No money lost on the actual rides.)
My dream will always be for a Pokémon Land, with Cafe, Shop, and Parade...but I dont think that is the place. I'm sticking with your guess. I never really guess what's coming to areas, but this time, my gut said the same 4 Dreamworks IP's. Nice thing is, we won't have to wait too long. 👍👍

Disney has/had a walk around character for almost every movie in their catalog, and DreamWorks has just as many iconic characters that would be fun to see if Universal put in the effort. Sure we get icons like Shrek and Kung Fu Panda and Trolls, but don't tell me getting characters like Megamind wouldn't be awesome. They were going to use the extra theater for HHN but I think, eventually, they might turn it into the Sing Show. Eventually, they might get rid of Transformers or something around there for the Pets Ride and USO will have a full Illumination area

Actually, a lot of what you say here are things I also thought would come to fruition - mainly those top 4 picks would also be mine! I think they are going to retheme woodys (its still standing when everything else has been bulldozed around it from Bioreconstruct) and certainly they need more coasters in this park anyway so it would be a shame to remove completely. I never thought about moving the entrance to ET, that would be fantastic and then they could open the land even more! I hope they (in a second phase maybe in 2024) retheme the animal actors to a show that is relevant (maybe a puss in boots animal actors or whatever, or a show and meet & greet with trolls and such). I hope they do not add a show in this first phase and make it all rides/moving experiences. I really love the idea of a water ride of some sort (like pirates of the Caribbean or Navi river journey, Universal is light on water rides that dont get you totally soaked!) and then they can do a show later. The pizza place can stay a restaurant, just rethemed (Panda Asian noodles and dumplings quick serve with a cute "cart" facade would be major amazing and something totally different from what they have on offer in the park). Either way, were all just along for the ride all the planning is done, but I do really hope we get more rides that are kid friendly but not super wimpy, if that makes sense. I love the sense of humour in Shrek, the new Puss in Boots and Panda, so hopefully it will give us all a good laugh!

My money is a Dreamworks land since they already have a good deal of Illumination attraction and more when the new minions ride opens up in the near future. I feel the Shrek and Donkey MnG being moved there was a subtle clue on the parks end since I find it extremely unlikely they'd move it 3 times in such short time and notice and it would make too much sense not to make it Shrek or multiple Dream Works IPs on a single plot of land considering Kidzone was basically that in itself albeit stuff that hasn't been used or seen for 25 plus years.

My hope would be for a more immmersive land themed after a single franchise like their Asian parks have for Shrek and King Fu Panda. However I think a general Dreamworks overlay of the current stuff is the most likely, with opportunities to expand with new attractions in the future for a phase 2. This will allow a quick change to get it open for 2024 while also updating the area. Hope they at least add another flat or two. If they could add a dark ride in time for the opening that would be amazing.

I agree, I would hope they save Shrek and KFP for their own individual lands, maybe as a replacement for MIB/Fear Factor, Lost Continent, or Toon Lagoon. It doesn't have to be as big as Potter, Nintendo, HTTYD, etc., but it should at least have 1 major attraction and some shopping/dining options. For the Kid Zone replacement, I feel like they would use franchises aimed at younger audiences, like Trolls, or the non-Minions Illumination franchises.

    • @joshberninger8355

Fear Factor/MiB I would split between a Diagon Alley expansion and extra land for a Springfield replacement if/when needed.

    • @TheRealPSKilla502
      @TheRealPSKilla502 Год назад

I agree. The smart move would be to give Shrek its own land, not just a simulator-in-a-warehouse attraction like before. What I was going to suggest was something you covered right when I was writing this - move ET entrance to Hollywood Bvd.
It would be too predictable to say Pokemon as everyone has been saying that since Super Nintendo World was announced for the parks, however, Japan is introducing Pokemon into their park.
Illumination definitely no, too many IPs scattered about in one park. Why have Minions at the entrance then Pets or Sing on the other end of the park. Epic Universe would be better for this then you could have an Illumination themed land for all the IPs.
100% agree with Dreamworks. Retrack the Woody Woodpecker coaster and retheme to Dragon from Shrek or the plane from Madagascar. A Trolls musical boat ride could go down well. Kung Fu Panda or Madagascar show to replace Animal Actors. Couple flat rides like carousel, spinning tops themed to other IPs as well.
I think Spongebob in the park has completely died now so eventually the store or Spongebob as a whole is better off going.

Pair that with Shrek & Trolls & Sing. You get a water play area, coaster, show & Shrek flat ride. I believe it will be DreamWorks because 1. DreamWorks Destination has seen a lot more foot traffic to that area of the park as a temporary experience and 2. Universal already confirmed that the front of the park will be officially named “ Minion Land on Illumination Avenue.” That leaves DreamWorks properties to be used. I firmly believe that they will build mini-lands of all the popular DreamWorks franchises, while having one or two attractions in each land with a gift shop. I am all for this idea, but at the same time, we’ll have to wait and see.

I wonder too if the reason animal actors/spongebob storepants isn't going is because universal is waiting out their contract with simpsons. That is also a fair chunk of land that could be used for other purposes. If universal decides not to fight to keep Simpsons or negotiations with Disney don't go well, Universal could very well demolish the land and expand the new kids zone.
It could also be to see how well the new land/epic universe phase out. If everything goes smoothly, then it could be that studios gets a big face lift. I went last month for HHN, and the back of the park is looking pretty rough around the edges. Men in Black was running on the slow side, the simpsons ride was sure a ride, and over all everything needed some love that it just was not getting. As sad as I would be if MiB went, I would hope Universal could breath some life into that section of the park.
